Meet Faxi!
Read more about Faxi
If you are looking for an adorable, sweet, loving, playful, active kitten, Faxi is your guy. Found on the streets at 5 months old, Faxi was congested and had a head tilt. Upon bringing him to the vet it was found that he had a polyps in his right ear that was causing him to tilt his head to one side, and was also causing congested sound he was hearing. He has had surgery to remove the polyps and is recovering nicely in his foster home. His head tilt only makes him look cuter, but should resolve itself in time. He will do fine in a home with kids and other cats. He has not been introduced to dogs. He will make a great addition to your home and provide you with much entertainment.

7. Badr
Adult · Egyptian Mau / Exotic Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) · 11 mi from New Britain

Cairo and Badr are bonded Egyptian Mau mix brothers who have already been through more than any cat should. They were heartbreakingly abandoned at a pet hotel by their former owner and, through no fault of their own, found safety in a private foster home where they have been cared for for the past year and a half.Their bond is deep and undeniable. When Badr needed treatment for a urinary tract infection, he stayed in my home to receive proper care—and Cairo cried for him while they were apart. That says everything about how closely these two are connected. They bring each other comfort, confidence, and companionship, and they must be adopted together. Both boys are affectionate, sensitive, and loyal once they feel safe.

9. Stewart
Adult (2 months 23 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from New Britain

Happiness, joy, and pure love really do come in one tiny, fluffy package—and his name is Stewart (aka Stewie).
Once we discovered that the secret to his heart is a good scratch behind the ears, Stewie quickly decided humans are his favorite thing (tied with his beloved rattle ball). He has an industrial-strength purr motor—and when he’s extra happy, he adds in a drooly little “love bonus.” Yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.
Stewart is also very vocal—he’ll happily “talk” to you, and make it clear when he’s ready for pets. He’s an easy kitten to read and loves that back-and-forth interaction with his people.
Read more about Stewart
Don’t let his clingy singleton-kitten past fool you—Stewart is the best of both worlds. He’s perfectly content entertaining himself during the day, and by night he is ready for full-time snuggles.
Stewart gets along well with other cats, has a heart of gold, and carries around the sweetest, most positive little outlook on life. Whether your home is big or small, full of kids or calm and quiet, Stewart will fit right in and love you endlessly. He hasn’t met a dog yet, but with a gentle intro, we think he’d do just fine.
If you’re looking for a social, playful, affectionate, certified lover boy with top-tier snuggles and unmatched charm, then Stewie is your guy.
Stewart was born on June 16, 2026, and is currently being fostered in Southington. He will be fixed, up-to-date on shots, and has tested for FIV/FeLV.
All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

13. Evian
Adult (2 years 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from New Britain

Evian is a gorgeous 2-year-old dilute calico with stunning green eyes. She was found on someone's back porch after giving birth to 5 beautiful babies (the beverage bunch, who will all be available at the end of September) in Ansonia.
Evian was a very protective momma and took her job seriously. Once she was separated from her babies, she was so done with being a mom...she doesn't even want them near her.
Evian enjoys head pets and ear scratches. She doesn't enjoy her back touched, and she doesn't enjoy being picked up. That may change in time.
Evian enjoys spending her days relaxing in the cat tree on the sun porch.

She isn't a fan of any of the resident cats or foster kittens in her foster home, though she tolerates them and will growl and hiss if they get too close. There is no fighting or aggression.
Evian loves her wet food. She prefers gravy style.
Her ideal home is a quiet home with either no pets or another docile cat.

17. Mia
Young (7 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from New Britain

Hi, I’m Mia!
I was found in Waterbury with a bulge the size of a baseball on my belly. A kind woman came and rescued me. I then started living the life I was meant to live...spoiled!!! I was taken to the vet and it was a hernia. I was spayed and the hernia was fixed, and I am now ready for adoption.
Hate to say, but...I want to be the only cat in the house. If you have a small dog, I can use the dog as a foot rest or pillow. My foster mommy says I am full of cuddles and purrs. I love to be petted, pampered and go nuts for kitty crack (Churus). I’m still young and hopefully I will stay a petite little girl.
Read more about Mia
Please consider adopting me because my foster mommy has too many foster kittens and cats. They will not worship me be cause they think I am one of them. I am the high priestess of cats and they are supposed to worship me.
Mia was born around December 29, 2025, and is currently being fostered in Ansonia. She is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

Adult (3 years 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from New Britain

Meet Sugar Cookie, affectionately known as "Cookie!" Cookie is 3 years old and is as sweet as her name suggests. With her striking green eyes, dainty tabby-and-white coat, elegant long legs, and the cutest little heart-shaped dark nose, she's an absolutely beautiful girl. She's still a kitten, but she has the calm, gentle nature of a cat well beyond her age.

Cookie is one of the gentlest cats you'll ever meet. She loves being held, happily melts into your arms for cuddles, and is perfectly content spending her afternoons stretched out in a warm patch of sunshine. In fact, her favorite hobby is following our gentle senior resident dog from room to room throughout the day as they search for the best sunbeam in the house. Once they find it, they settle in together for a cozy nap. It's every bit as wholesome as it sounds.
While she enjoys playing, Cookie is much more relaxed than most kittens her age. She is patient, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing, making her an excellent fit for families with respectful children or gentle dogs. Although she isn't interested in living with other cats, she absolutely adores her sister, Shortcake ("Shorty"), and would love nothing more than to find a forever home with her.
Cookie and her sister are litter box experts, and they LOVE people!
Cookie was born around April 1, 2023, and is currently being fostered in Farmington. Once she is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV, she will be available for adoption.
All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

26. Chicken
Adult (2 years 7 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from New Britain

Meet Chicken! After raising her two adorable sons, Ham and Turkey, this wonderful mama is finally ready for a little something she's never really had before: a home that's all her own. She has been an incredibly patient, loving mother to her boys, and now that these two little goblins have found their forever home together, it's Chicken's turn to be spoiled.

Chicken is about two years old and absolutely beautiful. She has striking green eyes, the cutest little orange-pink nose, and a soft tabby coat with subtle Bengal-like markings that shimmer in the sunlight. She also has the sweetest slightly wonky eyes that always seem to be looking in two different directions, somehow making her even more charming. Don't let them fool you though, she never misses a bird outside her favorite window.
Chicken has one of the gentlest souls you'll ever meet. She loves quiet company, soft conversations, and cozy afternoons spent stretched out in a sunny window watching the birds. She has the cutest little chirping trill that somehow sounds like a tiny song, and she has a habit of chatting with her people throughout the day. If she falls asleep nearby, don't be surprised to catch her with her tiny little tongue poking out... she does this a lot and it is adorable.
While she enjoys other cats and is perfectly happy around gentle dogs, Chicken doesn't need a busy household to be happy. She would thrive in a calm, relaxing home where she can soak up the sunshine, watch the birds from her favorite perch, and finally enjoy being someone's baby instead of raising everyone else's.
Chicken has excellent litter box manners and loves people.

Why adopt an adult cat in New Britain

Grown cats are calmer and need less supervision than kittens, which suits people who work long hours or have young children.
