3. Badr

Adult · Egyptian Mau / Exotic Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from West Haven

Cairo and Badr are bonded Egyptian Mau mix brothers who have already been through more than any cat should. They were heartbreakingly abandoned at a pet hotel by their former owner and, through no fault of their own, found safety in a private foster home where they have been cared for for the past year and a half.Their bond is deep and undeniable. When Badr needed treatment for a urinary tract infection, he stayed in my home to receive proper care—and Cairo cried for him while they were apart. That says everything about how closely these two are connected. They bring each other comfort, confidence, and companionship, and they must be adopted together. Both boys are affectionate, sensitive, and loyal once they feel safe.

They would thrive in a calm, patient home that understands the importance of keeping bonded cats together and giving them the stability they deserve after such a difficult start.Because they are a bonded pair, their adoption fee has been reduced in the hopes of keeping them together and helping them find the loving home they’ve been waiting for.If you’re ready to open your heart and home to two devoted companions who will repay your kindness tenfold, Cairo and Badr are waiting. 5. Stewart

Adult (2 months 23 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from West Haven

Happiness, joy, and pure love really do come in one tiny, fluffy package—and his name is Stewart (aka Stewie).

Once we discovered that the secret to his heart is a good scratch behind the ears, Stewie quickly decided humans are his favorite thing (tied with his beloved rattle ball). He has an industrial-strength purr motor—and when he’s extra happy, he adds in a drooly little “love bonus.” Yes, it’s as adorable as it sounds.

Stewart is also very vocal—he’ll happily “talk” to you, and make it clear when he’s ready for pets. He’s an easy kitten to read and loves that back-and-forth interaction with his people.

Read more about Stewart

Don’t let his clingy singleton-kitten past fool you—Stewart is the best of both worlds. He’s perfectly content entertaining himself during the day, and by night he is ready for full-time snuggles.

Stewart gets along well with other cats, has a heart of gold, and carries around the sweetest, most positive little outlook on life. Whether your home is big or small, full of kids or calm and quiet, Stewart will fit right in and love you endlessly. He hasn’t met a dog yet, but with a gentle intro, we think he’d do just fine.

If you’re looking for a social, playful, affectionate, certified lover boy with top-tier snuggles and unmatched charm, then Stewie is your guy.

Stewart was born on June 16, 2026, and is currently being fostered in Southington. He will be fixed, up-to-date on shots, and has tested for FIV/FeLV.

All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and Greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.

6. Michelle

Kitten (6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from West Haven

Meet Michelle!

This beautiful little tabby girl with a freckle on her nose was found in a colony with her brother, Mitch. She was born around the beginning of April 2026. She is a little shy still, but has come a long, long way. She is a lap cat in the making. She will cuddle on her foster mom's shoulder and purr. She loves to be pet, and loves her Churu treats. She now will sit on foster mom's lap and get pets.

Read more about Michelle

Michelle is being fostered with six other kittens, but is very independent. She is usually found curled up alone and occasionally with another cat. She would do well in a quieter home, and she may be OK as an only cat or with another friendly cat to show her the way. Older children would be ok.

Michelle was born around April 2026, and is currently being fostered in Waterbury. She is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

7. Bear Bear

Kitten (6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from West Haven

No, my foster mommy didn’t make a typo...my name is “Bear Bear”, not Bear! I am a sleek panther with my stunning black fur. I’m shy in the beginning until curiosity sets in.

I was found in Naugatuck with no mommy. Opal, Harvey’s mommy, took me under her wings and I thrived. It was difficult growing up with Harvey. He is bossy. Please don’t tell him.

I love playing with Harvey and my mommy. I can outrun and out-climb them. Playing king of the kitty tower is my favorite game. I am king of the jungle and no one gets the top but me. I love sleeping on the big bed. I will even allow you to sleep on the big bed.

I get along with other animals and even people. Please consider adopting me!

8. Seriphina

Kitten (2 months 30 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from West Haven

Say hello to Seriphina! Rescued in Torrington, we think she was born about mid-May. She loves to play with humans and the other kittens in her foster home. She might not turn out to be a 24/7 lap cat, but she loves to be pet, picked up and to hang out with you on the couch. She can live with dogs, other cats and children. It would be best if Seriphina could be adopted by an experienced cat owner who can help give her confidence in her new home.

Seriphina was born around May 15, 2026, and is currently being fostered in Bristol. She is fixed, up-to-date on shots, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

9. Marco

Adult (1 year 5 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 16 mi from West Haven

Introducing the one and only Marco! Marco is a 1.5 year old, fully-vetted, handsome little boy with A LOT to say and a lot to do. He is a very affectionate talkative little boy who wants to supervise and critique your every move. Marco came to our rescue when his owner moved and left him behind. He is a wonderful cat that gets along well with other cats, and tolerates what he considers creatures of lesser value...namely dogs. He would be great with both kids and adults and loves a good head rub. If you are interested in getting to know him better and opening up your heart and home to this little fellow, please apply on our website. Marco thanks you.

Adopting a cat with children in West Haven

Bring the whole family to meet the cat before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the cat behaves around children your kids' ages.

Teach children to let the cat come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the cat alone while it's eating, sleeping or using the litter box. Give the cat a high or quiet spot to retreat to.

Relaxed adult cats are often a better match for young children than kittens, which scratch and nip while they play.
