Meet Meesha !
Read more about Meesha
Hi, I’m Meesha! I’m a petite young cat who became a mama when I was still a kitten myself. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m still a playful, loving girl.
I love looking out windows, playing with my mouse and ball tower, and enjoying a good meal. .
Right now, I’m looking for a safe, loving forever home where I can finally be a young cat again—play, relax, be spoiled, and feel safe indoors.
I’m not a big fan of boy cats right now, so I may do best as your one-and-only kitty or with slow introductions.
I’ve had my babies, and now it’s my turn to be loved. Will you be my forever family? ?
Meesha is about 1-2 years old and was playing with her foster family. She is now playing in our Middletown PetSmart adoption center. Please ask to spend some time with her!

6. Millie
Adult · Female · Tabby (short coat) · 14 mi from Smyrna

Please open your arms and heart to Millie. She was very scared and shutting down in our adoption center, so one of our adoption center volunteers took her home for a break. Millie is welcoming her new environment! In her foster home, she comes to life after dark. That is when she does her eating, visits to the litter box and tossing her toys around.
During the day, she is a demure little thing with the loudest purr and searching out hands to butt with her head. Once she is comfortable with you, she will curl up and snuggle by your side, glancing over every once in a while to make sure you are still there and lauding your attention on her.

Millie is less than 2 years old. She's very cautious and will take a very long time to come around. But she loves to be pet and to have her head rubbed. Millie was playing with her foster family and is now back at our Millsboro PetSmart adoption center and looking forward to YOUR visit. In one photo, Millie is introducing herself to Blitz.

How to adopt from Animal Coalition of Delaware County, Inc.
We believe in an adoption approach that considers important details for finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with an animal's social, exercise and training needs. Unlike “pass/fail” application programs, we strive to match people and animals through education and discovery. We accomplish this through conversation to create an effective, pleasant adoption experience — and most important — to make lasting matches. Each situation, adopter and animal requires a different approach. And while we reserve the right to refuse an adoption, we always make every effort to work with you to address concerns or find the most appropriate companion animal. Before falling in love with one of our animals, please make sure that you are: At least 21 years of age In possession of a valid photo ID Allowed to have a cat or dog where you live (proof of home ownership or copy of lease with pet clause allowing pets is required) Able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for the animal Able to provide veterinary references for current and past veterinarians PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE THOROUGHLY PROCESSED BY ONE OF OUR ADOPTION COUNSELORS If the animals are still listed on our website they are still available. Adopting a cat in Smyrna
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
