3. Darling
Young (3 years) · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Hello, my name is Darling and I would like nothing more than to find a home where I can sit on someone's lap and soak up love! While my family could no longer care for me, the change of environment and new faces haven't fazed me. To me, a stranger is just a new opportunity to get pet. In return I will give you the occasional hand lick to show I like you and, of course, plenty of purrs.
I love my attention, but I am also patient and can spend time alone if you don't work from home. I would happily spend my day napping and window watching until you return and then look forward to being by your side!

When Riley was first rescued by FFGW, her foster team gave her full veterinary care and diagnostic testing for a sensitive digestive system. Today, Riley is thriving on a simple prescription diet and feeling great! To keep her feeling her best, she will need to remain on this food for at least a few months after being adopted and then your vet can assess after she's all settled in and may suggest stopping prescription. She will be thankful to join a family attentive to her dietary and digestive health.
With a loving family committed to her routine care, Riley is ready to fill her forever home with endless love, purrs, and kitten charm. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and loyal companion, Riley is ready to brighten your life!

The FIV virus is not a reason not to adopt! It is not transmissible to people or to non-cat
species and is not a death sentence.
It simply reduces a cat's immune system as the cat
ages, which can leave the cat more vulnerable to other feline infections later in life.
Cat to cat transmission does not occur with casual contact and it is not airborne.
Cats who are FIV+ live long, happy lives! Please check out the below informational links about FIV to understand why it is not a reason to shy away from adopting:

Adopting a cat in Frederick County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
