1. Soot

Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

I am very timid and it takes me much longer to get comfortable with humans. I am a little smaller than my sister Singe. We are bonded and will need to find a FURRever home together. I like to watch and observe playtime - but eventually, I can't resist the feather wand or chasing anything that moves especially my little squeaky mouse. You may wonder how we came upon the names of Singe & Soot - when we were rescued as kittiens, we were covered in ashes from something we got into. Thankfully we weren't injured, just very dirty.

Kitten · Female · Domestic Medium Hair (long coat)

I am very playful and I LOVE my toy balls and mice to chase. I love to nap with my sister Posie when it's time to settle down. I only like to be held for a short time. I am more independent and do not seek attention from my foster mom as much as my sister does. I have been around other cats and a large breed dog in my foster home without out any problems.

Adopting a cat in Cole County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
