4. Radish
Young · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Torbie / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Kansas City

Radish and her sister Turnip are two adorable kittens that came to us from a tough situation--a hoarding house. We don't know their full history, but as a result they are shy and can take some time to warm to new people and places. Once they come out of their shell, it's a different story! These kitties love to play, play, play. Then sleep all day! They are very affectionate once they settle in. In fact, Turnip is a "lap cat in training." Little Radish loves to gaze out the window and chase flies. Both will help you finish your breakfast, if allowed. While they don't need a home together, they would benefit from another kitty friend to bond with.

If you've got the time and love, Radish and Turnip might be your kitties! They have been around dogs but aren't too sure of them yet. With some time, they would likely be fine with respectful dogs.

Kilian and Karlos really wake up at night and show their playful side. They love toys that hang down so they can bat at them. They are also fascinated by the ball track tower and how they can get the different balls to spin around.
These boys definitely love their canned food twice a day.

6. Miss Kitty
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Torbie / Mixed (short coat) · 15 mi from Kansas City

We'd like to introduce Miss Kitty who is looking for a loving home! She has beautiful eyes and a super pretty tricolor/tabby coat. Her chin, neck, and tummy are white and there is evidence of her "calico-ness" in the soft cocoa color she sports.
As we understand it, Miss Kitty (her name at that time may have been Heinz 57) had been an only cat whose person had passed. She initially was rehomed with a relative who had three small children. After it didn't work out there, she was relinquished to the shelter.
Read more about Miss Kitty
Miss Kitty is very friendly and loves attention, but for short periods of time. She is not a lap cat, but often likes to be nearby. She is curious and slowly exploring her foster home. Miss Kitty is not afraid of the resident small dog but does give him a wide berth. She will hiss if he tries to approach her.
Miss Kitty has a good appetite for her salmon/seafood pate and dry food. She uses her litter box well and likes to play with toys, stringed balls, etc. Considering her history, she may need some time to adjust. She's skittish initially, then becomes more confident. We believe Miss Kitty will be a wonderful companion for a someone who is seeking a sweet kitty friend.
Miss Kitty was born approximately August 4, 2017, and her adoption fee is $105, or adopt two and the second is one-half price. She is spayed, up-to-date on shots and deworming, has a microchip, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.

Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 15 mi from Kansas City

Rainbow and Noah are foster friends who want to be adopted together.
Rainbow is a timid and bashful kitty who prefers the quiet corners of the world over center stage. With a beautiful tortie coat she captures hearts with a single glance. Though shy and reserved, this charming cat has an uncanny ability to make even the most cautious humans feel a warm connection. When she opens up she loves to romp around and play with toys and Noah.
Despite her reserved nature, once you earn her trust, you'll discover a very affectionate companion who loves nothing more than receiving endless chin scratches. Rainbow is looking for patient home that will provide time and understanding so she can continue to open up.
Read more about Rainbow and Noah
Noah is a spunky little guy! He loves to cause commotion and romp around the house with his kitty friends. His favorite toy is a wand. He adores getting pets and will purr purr purr! He would love to find the perfect family to love and play with him! You may notice that one of his eyes is a little bit different. His doctor has diagnosed him with eyelid agenesis which essentially means one of his eyes is slightly underdeveloped. He will not need surgery, but it’s just a good thing to know because sometimes his eye gets goopy which we treat with eye drops.
Note: Noah is food obsessed and will eat his food and Rainbow's until it makes him sick so we do not recommend free feeding him.
These kitties should get along with kids, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs given proper introductions.
Rainbow and Noah were born approximately September 3, 2026, and August 30, 2026, respectively. Their combined adoption fee is $250. They are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on shots and deworming, have microchips, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus.

Austin and Tori are brother and sister kitties that want to be adopted together. These two kittens are the sweetest. If you love the sound of purring you will have it with these two. Austin has a very loud purr and Tori has a soft purr and both will come up and purr right in your ear. They are a delight to watch when they are wrestling and playing chase. After they have worn themselves out they are ready to take a nice deserved nap on your lap. They do not show well at the adoption center. To them it is a very scary place. It has been quite an adjustment, but he is doing great and ready to find his forever home to share his love and companionship. Kormi is a lap cat who will snuggle in and give you kisses and headbutts. He also likes for you to carry him around and look out the window with him. Adopting a cat with children in Kansas City
Bring the whole family to meet the cat before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the cat behaves around children your kids' ages.
Teach children to let the cat come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the cat alone while it's eating, sleeping or using the litter box. Give the cat a high or quiet spot to retreat to.
Relaxed adult cats are often a better match for young children than kittens, which scratch and nip while they play.
