1. Frost
Kitten · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 5 mi from O'Fallon

Meet Frost! Frost is a sweet, gentle boy who came from a large cat colony of about 40 cats. He is a little more reserved and is still learning that people can be trusted, but he is slowly coming out of his shell and showing us more of his sweet personality every day. Frost will need a patient, understanding family who is willing to let him come out of his shell at his own pace. A calm, gentle approach, plenty of patience, and a safe environment will help him continue to build confidence and learn that he is finally home.Because of Frost’s sensitive nature, he would do best in a quieter home with teenagers or older and no young children.

8. Orion
Kitten · Male · Domestic Medium Hair (short coat) · 5 mi from O'Fallon

Meet the Greek Gods Litter: Iris, Atlas, Hermes, Orion & Selene! These five little legends are ready to conquer hearts! Iris and Selene are the girls, while Atlas, Hermes, and Orion are the boys. Their story almost had a very different ending. Iris, Atlas, Hermes, and Orion were pulled from a very rural animal control facility when their time was up. Little Selene was a last-minute addition to the group, but you’d never know she wasn’t part of the original crew—the others welcomed her immediately, and she quickly became one of their own.Iris, Atlas, Hermes & Orion are an incredibly friendly, outgoing, and affectionate bunch.
Read more about Orion
They love people and want to be right in the middle of whatever their humans are doing. Pick them up and cradle them like babies, and they’re perfectly happy to soak up all the love. They’re playful, curious, treat-motivated, and always ready for toys, zoomies, and a good kitten wrestling match. Atlas is the talker and resident investigator. He’s usually the first one checking out something new, and before long, the others are following his lead. Together, they make one very entertaining little crew! Selene is our gentler soul. She’s more timid and still learning that the world isn’t such a scary place. She can be hand-shy and gets nervous with lots of activity and commotion, but she’s making wonderful progress. Once you have her in your arms, her sweet side shines—she loves being held and cuddled and starts purring almost instantly. She just needs more time, patience, and socialization to build her confidence, so Selene will not be available for adoption quite yet. We would absolutely love to see these kittens adopted in pairs, although it isn’t required. What is important is that they have a friendly, playful kitty companion in their forever home. They should do well with older children and may also be a good fit with a cat-friendly dog after a proper introduction. If your home could use a little more love, laughter, kitten chaos—and perhaps a Greek god or two—Iris, Atlas, Hermes, Orion, and eventually sweet Selene are ready to bring some mythology into your life!

Her ideal home must have at least one other friendly, confident cat who can take her under their wing and help show her that humans aren’t so scary. 11. Lucky
Kitten (4 months 21 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 21 mi from O'Fallon

Meow, and hello out there! My name is Lucky and I am from a litter of 3 kittens found without our mom when we were very young. We have been raised by humans (and a foster mama cat) and consequently love people! I am around 4.5 months old as of early September. I am a purr machine when my foster mom touches me! When I am not causing chaos or wrestling my siblings, I love to just hang out on my foster mom’s lap while I recharge my batteries. I also love my foster mom’s 7-year-old boy kitty. I would like to be adopted with one of my siblings (Spark and Lucy) or as a companion for a young cat looking for a wrestling buddy. All 3 of us are still learning that humans think our tiny teeth are sharp, so no young children right now, please.

13. David
Kitten · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 5 mi from O'Fallon

David never stops purring! He is the first kitten to greet his people in the morning and is always waiting for visitors and love.Found with his friends in Poplar Bluff, David had a rough start to life. He and all of his friends, were underweight, covered in fleas and some even had ringworm. But with some TLC, they all gained weight, lost the fleas and got rid of the ringworm with no issues. We think David is about a week older than his friends that he came to Heartland with but he's always fit right in with all of them. We joke that David is so well behaved because he tries to be a perfect kitten so no one would suspect that he wasn't part of the litter.

Kitten · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 5 mi from O'Fallon

Natasha (grey tabby with dark nose): Super curious and interested in EVERYTHING – she’s the middle-sized girl of our group of three. She loves playing with feathers-on-a-stick, plastic springs, Temptations treats, and asking for a bite of whatever you have on your plate. She runs and romps around with her littermates and our resident cat, and she uses her scratching post. She will willingly let you walk past her or feed her a Churu, but she is not a fan of being petted. This has not been a problem in our house, as we have let her do her own thing, and she seems happy with the status quo. She’s funny and we adore her, but she needs a home of her own. Natasha has a $50 scholarship toward her adoption fee, and if you adopt her along with Liz and Kerry, her adoption fee will be fully covered by her current foster family.

Adopting a kitten in O'Fallon
Kittens usually go to their new homes from about eight weeks old, once they're eating on their own and have had their first vaccinations. Most rescues spay or neuter them before adoption, or include it in the fee.
Think about adopting two. Kittens raised together play with each other instead of your ankles and furniture, and many rescues charge less for a pair.
Kittens need more of your time than grown cats: several small meals a day, plenty of play, and a home with cords and small objects tidied away.
