1. Daisy

Young · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Daisy and her four kittens were found outside in St. Peter's, MO. They were in dire need of help when a woman rounded them up and found placement at Country Acres Rescue. Daisy came to us in bad shape. She had an eye infection, worms and a serious Upper Respiratory infection, poor baby! CAR quickly got her vetted and on several different antibiotics. Daisy is healthy and happy. She loves watching people walk by her window, so curious. She is a little nervous of new people, but she is learning to trust our staff and volunteers more and more with each day. She is a gorgeous Torbi cat looking for her second chance at life! Please call CAR at 636-227-1919 to inquire more about Mama Daisy and our adoption process or please visit the website, www.countryacresrescue.org.

6. Lucky

Kitten (4 months 21 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Meow, and hello out there! My name is Lucky and I am from a litter of 3 kittens found without our mom when we were very young. We have been raised by humans (and a foster mama cat) and consequently love people! I am around 4.5 months old as of early September. I am a purr machine when my foster mom touches me! When I am not causing chaos or wrestling my siblings, I love to just hang out on my foster mom’s lap while I recharge my batteries. I also love my foster mom’s 7-year-old boy kitty. I would like to be adopted with one of my siblings (Spark and Lucy) or as a companion for a young cat looking for a wrestling buddy. All 3 of us are still learning that humans think our tiny teeth are sharp, so no young children right now, please.

12. Oreo

Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Oreo has been an amazing momma more times than she needed to be. Worry no more! No more babies for this amazing 10-11 year old girl(as of 7/26/26). Oreo is a sweet affectionate girl, and would do best in a quieter home. She was a young stray kitty that was hanging around a home that recently had a new buyer. They decided to feed her, and unfortunately with this litter she got a not so great infection, and actually brought her babies to the home of her feeders, because she knew she needed help. So these people got help, momma had surgery, and is doing great!! Now she’s ready for a quiet loving home

Adopting a cat in Washington County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
