In September, Griffin trotted up to one of our rescuers who was holding an open cat treat after a rescue in Brownsville and said "yes please" and "thank you" as he climbed their leg to get the snack. With that brazen introduction, we knew unequivocally that this guy wanted to live the good life indoors. We quickly scooped him into a carrier and got him to safety, where he housed many cans of food and made himself comfy, and we intend to give him a future of only that life moving forward.

This October, Finley showed up to a managed and TNR'd feral colony in Crown Heights, and made it known that he did not belong on the streets, following their regular caretaker with a polite but insistent meow requesting to come indoors. When he followed one of our rescuers back to their apartment door, we had no choice but to scoop him up and settle him back into the luxury and comfort he was accustomed to. We are so relieved he won't have to spend a hard winter on the streets, and delighted to give him a temporary spot to clean his crisp white socks while he waits for his person to come along.

Everything Barilla does is with enthusiasm and zest, he is a joy to watch and interact with.

This cat needs to be adopted with a friend -- applications for them as a single cat will not be answered.

Tommy is the gray-and-white brother. He loves attention, makes biscuits like a pro, and is very enthusiastic about food. He even makes the funniest little gremlin noises while he eats.

These two were found at just 4 to 5 weeks old, abandoned together in a sealed plastic container near a busy street in Queens. They were cold, wet, dirty, and very underweight. Some caring neighbors got them to the vet and helped nurse them through those first few days.

These days they are just two very playful healthy kittens who are ready to have fun and be spoiled.

Daisy and Tommy are FIV/FELV negative, spayed and neutered and microchipped. They are happy, healthy, playful kittens who are ready for a home where they can continue to grow, play, and get all the love and attention they deserve.

We started our lives on a lonely country road in Puerto Rico when we were just tiny babies. It was scary, but Zani's Furry Friends ZFF rescue partner Kathleen Álvarez stepped in to save us! For the right home, they can be adopted separately as long as each has another friendly, playful cat companion. Whether they stay together or find feline friends of their own, these kittens are happiest when they have a buddy to play and cuddle with.

Found in a backyard in Crown Heights, these two came from a litter of four had by a wiley feral mama cat mama named Marimekko. Pipo and Takki came indoors in the spring with their siblings Sokka and Suki, just on the cusp of becoming little feral critters destined for outdoor life. Though scared at first, with love, patience, and lots of treats, these two came around to the good life in the care of their fosters.

Pipo and Takki are five months old, spayed and neutered, and negative for FIV/FeLV. They are up to date on vaccines and treated for parasites! They must be adopted either together or to a home with another young, playful cat.

When she gets the zoomies, she is an unstoppable force, and as she's warmed up to her foster home, she's begun to find her voice (it's a work in progress.) Imelda came indoors this summer looking worse for wear, severely underweight, drooling, and in pain with what turned out to be severe dental disease and a polyp the size of a raspberry blocking her airways. Thankfully, a full mouth extraction fixed her up beautifully, and she's been acclimating to the indoor life ever since.

Imelda's foster parent highlights the following about Ms. May:

- She has no teeth. It’s not a bug, but a feature. She won’t eat your plants. (Please still don’t keep any lilies or toxic plants!)

She responds well to being talked to. She’s there for you and willing to listen.

- Not much of a talker but will meow unexpectedly from time to time and it’ll melt your heart.

- Earning her trust is rewarding. She is skittish but will warm up to you if ployed with churu. She is a churu goblin.

- She’ll make you feel like the main character in your own movie. She’s curious and wants to get to know people so she will walk over and look at you quizzically before lying down to loaf near your feet.

- Good with calm, respectful dogs.

- LOVES toy mice. She doesn’t show much interest in catnip but she’ll bat around some mice any time.

Imelda May is approximately 6-7 years old, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. She is negative for FeLV and FIV. She has been dewormed and treated for fleas. We are asking that only those willing to be patient and help Imelda May blossom with care, love, and respect apply!
