14. Pluto
Adult (3 years) · Male · Maine Coon (long coat) · 30 mi from Laurel Lake

PLUTO
❤️
Location: Doylestown PA
Looking for a vocal, affectionate, and purr-filled companion? Meet Pluto! This handsome Maine Coon boy is an absolute sweetheart who thrives on love, attention, and cozy companionship.
Pluto is a true talker with a wonderful personality. He loves engaging in conversational chirps and meows, loud purring sessions, and curling up right at your feet when it’s time to sleep. If you are looking for a loyal, warm-hearted cat to keep you company, Pluto will gladly step into that role.
Important Medical & Behavioral Details
Read more about Pluto
Pluto is currently unneutered. As a kitten, he was diagnosed with a heart murmur, which meant he could not safely undergo anesthesia at the time. Because he is intact and lives in a household with a spayed female cat, he exhibits natural territorial marking and spraying behaviors.
This behavior has become difficult to manage in his current environment due to family allergies and sanitary concerns. However, in the right home setup, these behaviors can be far easier to manage or work through.
Ideal Home Environment
No Female Cats: Pluto’s marking is heavily triggered by the presence of a female cat. He will do best in a home where he is either the only cat or in a setup without female felines.
Veterinary Evaluation: A new owner should work with a trusted veterinarian to re-evaluate his heart murmur. With modern veterinary protocols or specialized monitoring, an experienced vet can assess whether neutering might now be safely performed, which could significantly reduce or eliminate his marking behavior.
Understanding Owner: Someone familiar with intact male cat behavior or experienced with Maine Coons will be a great match for him.
Rehoming Status
Pluto’s current family is committed to keeping him safe and loved for as long as it takes to find his ideal forever home—he is in no danger of being sent to a shelter.
If you have a quiet, female-cat-free home and plenty of love to give this affectionate guy, Pluto would love to meet you!

How to adopt from Animal Coalition of Delaware County, Inc.
We believe in an adoption approach that considers important details for finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with an animal's social, exercise and training needs. Unlike “pass/fail” application programs, we strive to match people and animals through education and discovery. We accomplish this through conversation to create an effective, pleasant adoption experience — and most important — to make lasting matches. Each situation, adopter and animal requires a different approach. And while we reserve the right to refuse an adoption, we always make every effort to work with you to address concerns or find the most appropriate companion animal. Before falling in love with one of our animals, please make sure that you are: At least 21 years of age In possession of a valid photo ID Allowed to have a cat or dog where you live (proof of home ownership or copy of lease with pet clause allowing pets is required) Able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for the animal Able to provide veterinary references for current and past veterinarians PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE THOROUGHLY PROCESSED BY ONE OF OUR ADOPTION COUNSELORS If the animals are still listed on our website they are still available. Adopting a cat in Laurel Lake
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
