1. Nyx

Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 35 mi from Eastover

When Nyx first appeared in November 2025, she'd dart beneath the porch to hide. But every evening, she'd reappear on the Ring camera, calling out like the princess she is until her evening meal was served. After a couple weeks of coaxing (and plenty of irresistible food), she decided indoor life was more suitable for royalty, pushed her way inside, and made herself right at home. Unfortunately, the resident cat court was not pleased with this outsider and demanded her removal at once.
At an estimated 18 months old, Princess Nyx now has her own private quarters in her foster mom's office while she waits for her forever kingdom.

Read more about Nyx

She loves her Cattasaurus cat cave (which goes with her!), exploring paper bags, curling up beside her people, and lounging in sunny windows. She also takes her supervisory duties seriously and keeps a close eye on her foster mom's computer work and all arriving delivery people.
Nyx loves other cats, but after surviving life outdoors, she prefers feline companions who respect her royal boundaries. She'd love a chill cat buddy with good manners who won't rush the friendship.
She sports a small scar beneath her left eye from her former outdoor life, but every princess needs a good origin story, and Nyx says it only adds to her charm.

Kitten · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 35 mi from Eastover

Hey there human! My name is Kobe, and I am a 5 month old good boy. I came to the rescue as an orphaned kitten with my sister. She has since been adopted. I hope to find a home soon, I have been waiting for so long. I like to follow you around and gently rub up against your feet until you notice my sweet face! If you pick me up I will snuggle in your arms until I am ready to play again! I do get along with other cats, but of course the cat would have to tolerate my playful demeanor. I have been around children, and I have also met a couple dogs. I am a bit apprehensive of dogs but with time I will adapt!

Young (5 months 27 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 50 mi from Eastover

Bussi

DOB: April 1, 2026 (est)

Spayed Female Short Hair Dilute Tortishell

Hi! I’m Bussi! If the name looks familiar, it’s because my brothers and I were born when the Carolina Hurricanes made their Stanley Cup run, so we’re all named after the players. Pretty cool origin story, if you ask me! As you can see, I’m quite a lovely dilute tortie, and I like to think my personality is as pretty as my coat.

Read more about Bussi

I’m looking for a home where I’ll have another kitty friend to play with. I’m not scared of much of anything. In fact, I’m usually the one leading my brothers right into mischief. After all, someone has to keep things interesting, right?

So, I’m probably not going to be the best goaltender you’ve ever seen (unlike my namesake), but you probably won’t sneak a Churu past me. I love toys...ALL the toys. I really love burning off some energy chasing the laser light. Oh, you say you have a dog? Well, it just so happens that I hold the family title of the First Kitten to Give a Dog a Nose Boop!

If you’re looking for a little sass and a lot of love, I may be the perfect girl for you. So, let’s get to know each other. Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and let them know you want to meet Bussi!

7. Winston

Winston

DOB: May 2026 (est)

Neutered Male Short Hair Grey

Hello, I’m Winston! Okay, so let’s talk about my coat, because it is pretty unusual (and gorgeous, if I do say so myself). It’s an unusual grey with these warm orange undertones running through it. Sort of like a bit of pumpkin spice, so ,very on-trend, wouldn’t you say?

Read more about Winston

Confession: I’m a little on the shy side at first, especially when I’m somewhere new, but I’m also pretty curious and will quietly explore my surroundings. I like to take my time to feel comfortable before I fully let my guard down. But when I do? I’m a full-blown love bug who loves nothing more than being held by my person while they’re standing up. I just love being at people level! I also love curling up right next to you, just so you know I’m settled in.

I’m hoping for a person (or family) who is patient letting a new kitty friend get comfortable (kids over age 10 would be best, since I need a little gentleness to come out of my shell). I need a kitty friend to help me with my confidence, but I also get along great with dogs. If that sounds like your home, let’s get to know each other. Quincy

DOB: May 2026 (est)

Neutered Male Short Hair Black & White

Hi, I’m Quincy! I’m a kitten on a mission, and that mission is to explore literally everything. New room? I’m carefully inspecting every nook and cranny. New box? I’m all over that, too! If it’s new, I’ll be bringing my investigative skills and exploring it fully.

Now, I’m not just a detective. I’m also quite the lovey-dovey kitten, so get ready to be love-bombed with kisses and full-face boops! When I’m not exploring, my favorite place to be is somewhere on you—your shoulder, your chest, even tucked right into your neck like I’m the perfect fit.

I’d love a forever home with another kitty friend to explore and play with. I’m also good with dogs, who are nice to cats (of course). Kids should be at least age 6, since I’ve got a lot of love and energy to give and want to be sure everyone stays safe. Jarvy

DOB: March 1, 2026 (est)

Neutered Male Short Hair Brown Tabby

Hi, I’m Jarvy!

I got my name after a Carolina Hurricanes player because my foster family loved watching the playoffs—and just like my namesake, I’m always on the move!

I’m an energetic, curious kitten who’s constantly playing, exploring, and finding my next adventure. If there’s a box nearby, you can bet I’ll be inside it (or trying to figure out how to fit!). Life is just too exciting to sit still for long.

Read more about Jarvy

Because I have so much energy, I absolutely need a playful feline friend to wrestle, chase, and burn off zoomies with. I’ll keep my buddy entertained and make sure there’s never a dull moment. If you’ve already got a cat-loving dog, I’d love to make a new friend!

When playtime finally winds down, I’m happy to recharge before heading off on my next big adventure. 10. P Dot

Kitten (5 months 9 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 50 mi from Eastover

P Dot

DOB: 3/1/26 (est)

Neutered Male Short Hair Black & White

Hi there! I’m called P. Dot for reasons which should look obvious haha! I also have a black mask across half of my face (makes me look sort of mysterious, I think), and, yeah...I’ve got ears for days. My humans tell me I’ll grow into them, but I’m not too self-conscious about my ears. Besides, they’re great radar: they help me keep tabs on where the treats and toys are!

Read more about P Dot

I have a very sweet and gentle spirit, but when the toys come out I spring to life! Give me a ball to chase, a fishing pole or wand toy to pounce on, or just about anything with catnip, and I’m all over it! I’d love to have another cat to play with, but would also be okay as an only cat. I would get along great with a similarly-sweet dog, too. And I’d love to be a furry buddy for your kids!

As much as I enjoy playing (and snacks!), some of my favorite moments in the day are spent stretched out in a sunny window or next to my people for a nice, long nap. If your family is ready for a gentle, loving fur buddy, let’s get to know each other. Come meet me at PetSmart, or contact Best Friend Pet Adoption to find out how to adopt me.

11. Ann Chovy

Kitten (6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 50 mi from Eastover

Ann Chovy

DOB: Feb 27, 2026 (exact)

Spayed Female Short Hair Torbie

Hello there! They call me Ann Chovy, which is kind of a silly name, but, then, I’m kind of a silly kitten! I’m a little bit torbie, which means I can be opinionated, but not too salty haha! If I need to get you do do something for me (feed me, playtime, cuddles, etc.), I’ll simply win you over with charm.

Like my sweet mama, Moira, I’m curious and affectionate. I’ll greet everyone at the door and will give every “new” person who visits a thorough sniff, just to make sure they’re okay (and then I’ll probably curl up on their lap).

Read more about Ann Chovy

Even though I can be a bit opinionated, underneath all that I am more sugar than spice. I bond hard and love deep. I love little kids (age 6 and older) and am absolutely fine with cat-friendly dogs. If you want to watch me really thrive, there should be another kitty in the home who appreciates my curiosity and affection (or can at least tolerate it haha).

If you’re ready to welcome a kitten who is very generous with her love – and opinions -- let’s get to know each other. Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and tell them you want to meet Ms. Ann Chovy!

Kitten (6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 50 mi from Eastover

FW

DOB: Feb 27, 2026 (exact)

Neutered Male Short Hair Black & White

Okay, I know FW (Free Willy) is an unusual name for a kitten, but I do have an orca-pattern coat and a spirit that cannot be contained! I have one ambition: to live my best life every day!

Read more about Fw

But don’t get me wrong. Even though I have a wild spirit and a kitten’s energy, I am a deeply affectionate kitten who wants nothing more than to snuggle up with you at the end of the day. I’m super easy-going and get along great with everyone I meet – including dogs! I also enjoy spending time with kids, but since I’m still so little, they should be old enough to understand how to handle kittens safely.

My ideal home will have another cat for me to play with (and finish the kitty education that my wonderful mom, Moira, started).

If you’re looking for a high-spirited companion who loves adventure – or at least cuddling at the end of an adventure -- let’s get to know each other. Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and tell them you want to meet FW!

Kitten (6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 50 mi from Eastover

Mack

DOB: Feb 27, 2026 (exact)

Neutered Male Short Hair Grey Tabby

Hey there, my name is Mack, and I pack a lot of confidence for a little kitten! My mama, Moira, taught me everything she knows about being a cat and I am a very good student. I bravely explored every inch of my foster home and figured out how the toys work. I would love to bring my curiosity and sweetness to your family.

Read more about Mack

I love to give soft, affectionate head-butts to get your attention, and when you notice me, my purr motor will fill up the room. As much as I love my human friends – and would be a great buddy for a kid – I really need another kitty friend to hang out with. If you have a dog in the home, I would be okay with that, as long as the dog is friendly and gentle with kittens.

So, if your family is looking for a little furry buddy with a confident, take-charge attitude and a rumbly purr, contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and let’s get to know each other.

DOB: October 2025 (est)

Spayed Female Short Hair Tortishell

Hola! My name is Taco! If you’re looking for a kitty who adds just the right amount of delicious spice to your life, I’m your girl!

Read more about Taco

Let me tell you a little about me: I’ve got a super sweet personality. I can’t help myself; I love everyone and everything! I get along really great with other kitties and need to have a kitty buddy in my home to keep me busy (I’m about 7 months old, so I’m pretty active). I also adore dogs (as long as they’re nice to cats, naturally). And I’d be the perfect playmate for a little kid looking for their first pet (kids, ideally, would be at least age 6).

As a tortie, I tend to be somewhere between the poblano and jalapeño peppers on the heat scale...just enough to keep things a little spicy but not too much so your eyes water (unless you’re laughing so hard at my antics you get tears in your eyes!). Adopting a cat in Eastover

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
