August 20, 2026 Terry shares that Thomasina’s surgery went well!
She lost most all of her teeth and 1 of her canines that was cracked. Thomasina was purring this evening when Terry was petting her. Updated fundraiser – we need $1,900 to cover the cost of this surgery and her brother, Thomas’s, vet checkup as well.
August 15, 2026 I noticed that THOMASINA was not responding to my petting her and had her head tucked down between her front paws! I knew something was wrong.
Our veterinarian, the
Sound Cat Veterinary Hospital
, worked her in for me on Aug. 14th and we learned that she needs FULL MOUTH EXTRACTIONS!
Her surgery this Thursday, August 20, 2026!
We want her to be healthy & happy so we have to do this for her!
Thank you and please pray for her swift recovery. As we await her surgery date, I’m keeping her more comfortable with pain medications.

September 17, 2026 If you were wondering about our kitty in foster, “FLOUNDER”, he is doing GREAT & is well loved!!!
Flounder is one of the Atlantic Seafood rescued cats that had a rough time for a while. He was sick for a couple of months while i treated him. He had to have ALL his teeth removed! He slowly got better & was ready to go!
Read more about Flounder
Due to the overcrowding at FURR, one of our devoted volunteers, Seamus, agreed to foster Flounder.
BUT! Seamus and his lovely family had previously adopted Lioness (the little kitten i rescued at Food Lion). Lioness is also doing great, but she never did like other kitties!
Seamus kept Flounder in a separate room for a while, but eventually let him out little by little to meet Lioness.
It was rough at first with Lioness complaining a lot about Flounder, but just like I try to tell EVERYONE!!! Look at these pictures & see what time, love & patience can do!!!
Hoping, eventually, Flounder will become permanently part of their family. They are considering it!!!
April 2026 - Flounder is doing great! I took him to the vet this past week (along with several other cat visits to Sound Cat!) and repeated his PCR test (swab eyes & back of throat). He was a trooper & no sedation needed. I just held him & he knew I was with him. He has really come a long long way from being VERY feral to just a “mushster”!
Will take a few days to get the results, but hoping PCR will show that he is not contagious any more for the calici virus (Kitty pneumonia) which is contagious. It is much less contagious to cats that are vaccinated & all of ours have been, but airing on the side of caution. Just cant wait to get him out of that bathroom he has been locked up in for EIGHT weeks!
Say a prayer for FLOUNDER! Enjoy his video!
March 2026 - Flounder doing great!
Eating, playing, purring, talking and overall doing much better, but still a bit congested. Very affectionate!
Feb. 2026 - After successful dental surgery, Flounder is not doing well in recovery this week.
Flounder is the little black feral I took to Sound Cat last Monday & had all his teeth pulled (to the tune of $1,700!!!), but unfortunately, he has not done well so far.
I dropped him off at Sound Cat, our Vet, this am. He is not eating, he is very lethargic & quite congested.
Please say a prayer for this little feral cat. He doesn’t deserve any of this!
For the fast couple of weeks, I noticed him, one of the black feral kitties in the FURR Sanctuary, seemed thin, lethargic and not well.
I noticed that Flounder started to seem congested also, so I had to get him to the vet. After several days, I finally got Flounder in my net and got him to Sound Cat. It is so difficult to care for a feral colony because the cats are not tame. It is extremely difficult to catch them.
Flounder had horrible breath, horrible teeth and needs a full mouth of dental extractions! He also had a horrible infection and was dripping bloody mucus from his nose as you can see in this photo. How painful and horrible for him!
He is scheduled for dental surgery on Feb. 16. It will cost around $1,200 – $1,500 for him in addition to the $300 I’ve already spent from his original vet assessment last week.

My personality matches my beauty. I glow with love. I am so friendly and outgoing. I don’t hide at all. I love to be pampered and I love to be cozy. I am so happy to be inside and loved. I do great with other cats, and kids, but haven’t had much exposure to dogs. If you have dogs, I would need time to adjust to them. I am spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and tested negative for FIV & FELV. If you would like to meet me you can come see me at Pet Supplies Plus in Bolivia or call Jill at (910) 620-3783.

Senior (10 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 27 mi from Murraysville

SENIOR ALERT! Meet our newest foster cat: BAILEY! I am an 10 year old fella who does well with nice cats, older kids, but I am not fond of dogs. I am a sweetheart who loves the finer things in life like canned food, predictability, some nice tv on a couch. I showed up to someone’s house during the snowstorm and tried my best to adopt that family, but their cats didn’t like me. I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested negative for FIV & FELV and ready for a nice home. I do have the beginning stages of kidney disease and I eat special prescription KD Food. Call Jill at (910) 620-3783 to meet me.

Adopting a cat in Murraysville
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
