Meet Mimi & Herman! They are a bonded pair of 9 year old Domestic Short Hairs that were brought to SCAC when their previous owner went into an assisted living facility. They are initially shy, but very sweet and friendly. They spend most of their days lounging in their beds, rolling in catnip, getting a bite to eat, and soaking up attention from their favorite visitors. Mimi and Herman are looking for a quiet home without any children or animals.

Looking for a low-maintenance companion who appreciates the finer things in life—like a long nap on the couch? That's me! I am definitely not a high-energy feline. Since I came from the streets, l am much more of a relaxed couch potato, and I'm completely proud of it. I love a quiet routine, gazing out the window at the world, or settling in for some Cat TV to watch and listen to the wildlife.
When it comes to affection, I prefer petting on my own terms. Too much petting can overstimulate me, so I like to be the one to dictate when it's time for physical love. But just so you know, my two absolute favorite spots to be pet and scratched are on top of my head and right under my chin!
I'm independent but very communicative. When it's mealtime or I'm in the mood for a quick game, I'll come find you. If you happen to be distracted when I really need your attention, l might give you a gentle, polite nibble on your hand or arm. But don't worry—| always follow it up with immediate licks to remind you that I mean no harm! It's just my quirky way of sending a text message. When we do play, my absolute favorites are chasing things on a string and hiding in a cat tunnel to swat at dangling toys.
Bedtime is when I spend the most time with you and when I start to PURR. I have a routine every night: first, I'll get to work happily making biscuits on the blankets. Then, I absolutely love having my head and under my chin scratched while we wind down. Once I've had my fill, I'll contentedly plop myself down at the foot of the bed to sleep through the night with you.

As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

I’m about 4–5 months old and came to the shelter as a semi-feral kitten with my sisters, Baby, Sassy, and Posh. With lots of patience and love from our volunteers, I’m slowly learning that people can be pretty wonderful!
I’ve made great progress and will even purr while cuddled in your arms. I still have some trust issues, though, so I’ll need a patient adopter who understands that building a bond with me will take time.
I’d love to go home with one of my sisters, or to a home with a friendly feline companion who can help me feel safe and confident.
