This little orange boy is adorable and super soft! Pecan is spunky. loves to play and cuddle. For a smaller kitten he can lay in your lap for a long time, which isn't typical of active kittens! His favorite toys in his foster home are the Turbo Chaser and the crinkly cat tunnel. Then when his foster mom is in the room he loves the wand toy and laser play. He may enjoy a home with another friendly young kitty who enjoys playing or may love an active household with a cat-friendly dog. Reach out to meet Pecan today!

29. Riley
Young (1 year 7 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Meet Riley, an adorable gray tabby with a big, loving heart and gorgeous green eyes!
Riley is incredibly playful, and there’s nothing she loves more than chasing a wand toy and showing off her hunting skills. A curious soul, she delights in keeping watch out the window day and night to monitor the backyard and street activities. While she’s great at keeping herself entertained, her absolute favorite thing is playing with her favorite humans.
Read more about Riley
As a loyal companion, Riley will follow you around the house, patiently "standing guard," and enthusiastically greet you at the door after a long day. She loves lounging on chairs nearby, keeping you company while you work, and soaking up all the chin scritches and pets you can give. She’s a sweet bundle of joy who chirps and trills wherever she goes—her voice may be quiet, but her love is loud!
When Riley was first rescued by FFGW, her foster team gave her full veterinary care and diagnostic testing for a sensitive digestive system. Today, Riley is thriving on a simple prescription diet and feeling great! To keep her feeling her best, she will need to remain on this food for at least a few months after being adopted and then your vet can assess after she's all settled in and may suggest stopping prescription. She will be thankful to join a family attentive to her dietary and digestive health.
With a loving family committed to her routine care, Riley is ready to fill her forever home with endless love, purrs, and kitten charm. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and loyal companion, Riley is ready to brighten your life!

King is a beautiful, regal boy with striking black stripes and spots on his golden-tan coat. He loves to play with springs, toy mice, the racetrack, and even Seba's tail. Sometimes, though, what he really wants is a game of chase with Seba. The two happily race around together and pounce on each other in their favorite cat tunnel.

Adopting a cat in Clarke County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
