2. Emma
Adult (3 years 5 months) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Long Hair (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

Emma is a petite, long-haired tuxedo girl about 3 - 4 years old, who really just wants a quiet, comfortable home. She's not a clingy cat, but she does like being close to her people. When everyone is sitting on the couch, Emma will usually curl up on the loveseat nearby. She likes being part of the family without having to be right in the middle of everything.
Emma's favorite time of day is definitely mealtime! This little girl LOVES her tuna, and don't bother trying to convince her that some fancy new flavor of canned cat food might be better. She's made up her mind!
Read more about Emma
Emma currently lives with two other cats and she doesn't care for the elderly female cat and spends a lot of time hiding from the younger male. She isn't fond of dogs either. Being such a petite little girl, I think she'd simply feel more comfortable if she didn't have to worry about other animals. Her best home will be to have you all to herself.
Emma isn't the kind of cat who demands your attention every minute. She's perfectly happy just knowing you're nearby. Give her a soft place to curl up, a peaceful home, and her favorite tuna, and I think you'll have one very happy little kitty! Emma lives in Beaverton with her owner and her rehoming fee is $50.

3. Minnie
Senior (14 years) · Female · Tortoiseshell (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

Meet Minnie, a gorgeous 14-year-old long-haired tortoiseshell who has spent a lifetime perfecting the art of the head bonk, the lap cuddle, and the sunny-window nap.
Minnie is incredibly affectionate, peaceful, beautifully mannered, and happiest when she can be part of everyday household life. She enjoys following her people from room to room, settling into a warm lap, curling up with a cozy blanket, and purring when her loved ones are near. She is content to spend plenty of time relaxing, but she still wants to feel included and loved. A cozy spot where Minnie can curl up near the people she loves would suit her perfectly.
Read more about Minnie
Minnie is healthy, spayed, current on her vaccines, and indoor-only. She has a remote history of urinary tract infections but has not experienced a recurrence in years. She currently eats wet food combined with Hill’s t/d dry food as a precaution. Her beautiful, fluffy coat requires regular brushing and benefits from professional grooming about twice per year. Minnie would likely respond well to respectful children. She has never lived with a dog, and we suspect she would like to keep it that way.
Minnie is looking for a calm, affectionate home where she can enjoy companionship, good naps, gentle cuddles, and a sunny window of her own. If you have room in your heart for a senior sweetheart with excellent manners and so much love left to give, Minnie may be waiting for you. Minnie is indoor only and lives in Portland. Her reoming fee is $250.

5. Clementine
Senior (13 years) · Female · Domestic Long Hair (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

Clementine is a strikingly beautiful, playful, and affectionate little senior sweetheart who loves being the center of attention. She has a wonderful appetite for wet and dry food, enjoys tasty treats, and absolutely adores toy mice! When she’s not playing, Clementine is happiest curled up on a cozy lap. She also enjoys gentle petting and brushing. Clementine is 13 years old.
Read more about Clementine
Clementine recently came into foster care after her elderly owners moved to assisted living. She quickly bonded with her foster person and loves asking for attention, affection, and lap time. While she is happy with her person, she has not adjusted well to the other resident cats and has been kept mostly separate, especially from a fearful younger male cat.
For this reason, Clementine would likely be happiest as the only cat in her forever home, where she can receive all the love and attention she deserves. She is up to date on her vaccinations and receives regular veterinary care. Clementine will come with a wonderful collection of her familiar belongings, including her favorite toys, special dental dry food, gabapentin, litter box, brushes, heated sleeping pad, scratching post, and soft-sided carrier.
Clementine lives with her humans in Portland and her rehoming fee is $30.

6. Jon Snow & Pepper
Adult (9 years) · Male · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

It is with heavy hearts that their family is looking for a forever home for Jon Snow and Pepper, two wonderful cats who have been cherished members of their family since they were kittens. Pepper is 10 years old, and Jon Snow is 8.
Both cats are happy, healthy, active and affectionate. They love playing with toys, exploring new spaces, and, most of all, cuddling together in a cozy room. Pepper can be a little timid when first meeting someone, but once she gets to know you, she becomes very loving. Together, she and Jon Snow are enthusiastic snugglers who love to purr and enjoy each other's company.
Read more about Jon Snow & Pepper
These two share a particularly sweet bond. Every morning when they get water, Pepper "bathes" Jon by carefully grooming his fur—a little ritual that shows just how connected they are. They truly enjoy having each other and are happiest together.
Their family has welcomed a daughter, now 3 years old, and, as life has changed they have realized they can no longer give Jon Snow and Pepper the time and space they deserve. This is a very difficult decision and they are hoping to find a loving home where these two can remain together and be cherished for the rest of their lives.
Jon Snow & Pepper must be adopted together. They would love a home where they can relax, play, explore, and continue their lifelong friendship with plenty of love and cuddles. This pair lives in Vancouver with their owners and their rehoming fee is $50.

7. Lash
Adult (5 years 4 months) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

Lash is incredibly snuggly, affectionate, and an absolute lap cat. He purrs easily, loves attention, and will likely be the first to greet guests with hopes of getting some pets and cuddles. His adorable cross-eyed look only adds to his charm!
Originally a stray, he has some past trauma that makes him fearful of other cats. While he currently gets along with both a cat and an excitable dog, he would ideally be the only pet. If he shares his home with another cat, it should be a calm, non-aggressive feline.
Read more about Lash
He MUST have access to both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor access is important for his mental well-being, and he currently uses a microchip-reading cat door.
Because he is prone to urinary issues, he eats Hill’s Prescription Diet dry food. He also absolutely loves raw rabbit and is generally an enthusiastic eater.
If you're looking for a loving, affectionate companion who will happily curl up in your lap, this sweet boy may be your perfect match! Lash lives in Portland with his owner and his rehoming fee is $50 Lash is indoor/outdoor or would use a catio.

8. Jasper
Adult · Male · Turkish Angora / Mixed (long coat) · 23 mi from Vancouver

Jasper is a friendly, outgoing goofball who loves to "talk" and be part of whatever his people are doing. He enjoys meeting new people and is happiest when he's included in the action.
While he's not much of a lap cat, Jasper loves being held—especially if you're standing! He also enjoys lounging on high shelves, exploring tunnel toys, chasing toys through the air, and even taking short walks on a leash outdoors.
Read more about Jasper
Jasper would thrive in a home where he can be the center of attention. He's great with children but would do best with older kids who understand his boundaries and won't chase him. He has lived successfully with another cat and may do well with a feline companion, though he has limited experience with dogs.
Jasper is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and has a sensitive stomach that is well managed with a fish-based diet, regular wet food, and a daily probiotic. Jasper lives in Beaverton with his family and his rehoming fee is $25.

Caring for a long-haired cat
Long coats need regular grooming: brushing a few times a week, and every day when they shed in spring, stops knots and mats from forming and cuts down on hairballs.
Get them used to it gently, with short sessions and a treat afterward. A wide-toothed comb and a soft slicker brush handle most coats.
