6. Monkey Boy
Senior (14 years 2 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Monkey Boy is an older man, but he has so much love left to give. He’s not big on sitting in
laps, but he is happy to let you pet him as much as you want. He has an adorable underbite and
gorgeous green eyes. MB was always interested in playing with string toys, Old Arthur
(arthritis) was limiting his fun. The vet found a treatment for him that has been very effective
and now he’s enjoying lots more playtime. He has excellent manners, never knocking over
anything in his foster home. He enjoys pate, but isn’t a big fan of wet food with chunks. This
wonderful gentleman would likely adjust to any circumstances, but he would probably appreciate a slower paced home that would provide him with a little, daily, playtime.

He has had a private room in his foster home so his comfort level with other animals is undetermined, but he has such a sweet demeanor it seems possible he could adjust to other pets and/or children. Don’t let his advanced years put you off, he’s a really great guy.

Adopting a cat in Laramie County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
