1. Elara
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 39 mi from Woodburn

These adorable tabbies came in a litter of 5 and have been sitting in the shelter since the first week in July waiting their chance for a happy ending. If you have unfixed pets, please let us tell you about some great spay options. These siblings are super playful and have been exposed to dogs that have come to the spay clinic. If you are interested in adopting, please apply online and we will get back with you if it is a good fit as soon as we can get the information verified. With this litter, we need to verify microchips before leaving the store to make sure the right kitty/chip combination is registered.

Also these babies are used to being with many fur friends and can not be single pets. We do however have many adults patiently waiting for be in single pet homes as well as some amazing cats that want an inside/outside option, and several pairs that need humans that belive in can food. Our group is completely volunteer base, and struggling with high intake. It is not free for us to vet these babies. We do ask that adopters help us by donating to help us fix the kitties fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, and combo tested. A minimum fair donation would be $50 for a single or $70 for a pair, but we do understand that some will have deposits for their housing. Our main priority is that these babies land in a forever house and never need help from a rescue or shelter again.

BETTY & BOOP — BONDED SISTERS LOOKING FOR THEIR SAFE PLACE ❤️Betty and Boop are our little swimming-kitty survivors, and these girls have already overcome so much together. Now they’re ready for the most important step: a forever home together. To keep them healthy while waiting for adoption, Betty and Boop have spent much of their time safely kenneled. Unfortunately, that safe little space became their whole world. New places, unfamiliar cats, dogs, and big changes are scary right now, and they look to each other for reassurance. These girls aren’t asking for separate homes—they are a package deal.

❤️ Betty and Boop MUST be adopted together.Their new family will need to give them time to settle in and introduce other pets very slowly. A quiet room of their own at first, patience, and gradual introductions will help them learn that their new home is safe too.Underneath those nervous little hisses are two sweet sisters who survived together, grew up together, and find courage in each other. They don’t need to be rushed. They just need someone willing to say, “You two are home now.” ❤️

13. Tippy
Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 39 mi from Woodburn

❤️ Tippy has been waiting over a year. ❤️And we think we know why. When new people come to meet our cats, Tippy can be shy. He isn’t necessarily going to run up and convince you that he’s the one. Unfortunately, that means people can leave without ever getting to know the real Tippy. But stay awhile.Give him a little time to decide you’re okay, and suddenly you’ve got a new best friend. Tippy loves being near his people, hanging out with you and settling in for a good cat nap. He’s just an easygoing guy who wants companionship without needing to be the center of everything. If we could just get someone to give him a chance, we think he would have a better life having more attention than we can give.

Tippy does have some mild allergies that can leave him a little sniffly, but otherwise he’s a great cat.He wants to be inside most the time, but he currently enjoys spending a little time relaxing on the porch. We think he may be able to adjust to an indoor-only home. And here’s something a little different for a cat looking for a family: Tippy would probably choose a dog buddy over a cat buddy! He does fine with most of our cats; he just isn’t particularly interested in snuggling up with them.Tippy doesn’t need someone to fall in love with him in the first five minutes. He needs someone willing to give him enough time to fall in love with them. ❤️

14. Golden Oreo
Kitten · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 39 mi from Woodburn

Meet Golden Oreo. Those ears…that little face…and that tiny wink will steal your heart.Golden Oreo is finally big enough for his neuter, which means he’s ready to begin searching for the family he’ll spend the rest of his life with. While Oreo has retained some sight, we still consider him a special needs kitten. He has adapted incredibly well and learns his surroundings quickly, but he’ll need a family that understands this is a 15-20 year commitment. We want this to be his forever home.Oreo will need to remain indoors only.He is a playful, curious kitten who loves shoelaces and sometimes climbs your legs when he’s excited.

Because of that, he probably isn’t the best fit for a home with very young children or someone elderly who could be injured by an energetic kitten. We would also love for Oreo to have a feline buddy. He gains confidence from watching another cat and often follows their lead, helping him navigate his world. If you don’t already have a friendly cat, we’d be happy to help you find him the perfect companion here at Kentucky Kitty Cats.Golden Oreo may see the world a little differently than most kittens, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. All he wants is what every kitten deserves—a family to love him exactly as he is. Could that family be yours?

16. Boo
Adult · Male · Siamese · 39 mi from Woodburn

Meet Boo Boo is a stunning Siamese boy with beautiful blue eyes and an even bigger heart. His story hasn’t been an easy one. Before coming to Kentucky Kitty Cats, Boo was passed from home to home multiple times in just a few months. Since then, he’s spent many more months waiting in foster care for someone to finally choose him forever.Because of everything he’s been through, Boo doesn’t trust change right away. His future family should expect him to hide at first. That isn’t rejection—it is simply how Boo protects his heart. Give him patience, kindness, and time, and you’ll discover the incredibly affectionate, loving cat underneath.Boo also enjoys having another friendly cat around.
Read more about Boo
If you don’t already have a playful feline companion, we’d be happy to introduce you to one of his rescue friends.Recently, Boo visited our veterinarian for an upper respiratory infection. During that visit, his foster shared that he hasn’t always seemed completely comfortable. The veterinarian would like to obtain X-rays when possible to evaluate him for arthritis or other age-related changes, but the clinic’s X-ray equipment was unavailable that day. It’s also very possible that living in a crowded foster home has contributed to stress-related behaviors. Boo has been sharing a small space with many other cats and dogs, and we are hopeful that a quieter home will allow him to truly relax and thrive. We estimate Boo is approximately 5–7 years old. At this stage of life, many cats begin needing a little more routine veterinary care, just like people do. For that reason, we’re looking for an adopter who is financially prepared to provide regular veterinary care and any treatment he may need in the future. We never want Boo to be passed along again because someone wasn’t prepared for the responsibilities that come with loving a middle-aged cat.His best friend Atticus, who came to us at the same time, recently found the perfect home and has absolutely flourished. Now it’s Boo’s turn. We’re not looking for just any home—we’re looking for his last home. Someone who understands commitment, has access to good veterinary care, and believes pets are family for life.If that sounds like you, Boo is waiting to meet you. ❤️Please share this handsome boy so the family he’s been waiting for can finally find him.

Kaboodle has been with us almost a year waiting for his purrfect home to come! He is a loverboy, but shy at first. Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 39 mi from Woodburn

This little family came in to us in pitiful shape. We are now accept applications for forever homes. Winnie and Wallaby Woo make our 7th bonded pairs looking for their forever families. How to adopt from Kentucky Kitty Cats, Inc.
We generally adopt out fully vetted cats and older kittens, but we are attempting some new options. Since the covid we have taken in over 140 felines, and we are not set up for this. We have cats everywhere and lots of new fosters; many of which intend to adopt once cats are spayed/neutered.
Adopting a cat in Woodburn
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
