1. Hope

Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 19 mi from Perryville

HOPE came into the rescue with her brother, RAY, from a horrific situation. Their owner, who was a hoarder, had passed away weeks before they were found. Although raised inside a house, they were both very shy. Used to living with other cats and have done well in our cat room. Hope has come around more quickly than Ray and is ready for adoption. She is shy but sweet and will make a nice lap cat. They are coexisting with cat friendly dogs and she should do okay with a well-mannered pup. Hope is two years old and has been spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/Leukemia. Adoption $100. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you were the home that Hope is looking for!

Meet Albus!
Albus is a cheerful, confident little guy with a personality that seems to get bigger every day. He’s naturally social and genuinely interested in everything around him—people, toys, other cats, and whatever happens to catch his attention. He has a wonderfully easygoing nature and is a pleasure to handle.
This boy is also a fearless adventurer with plenty of goofy charm. He loves to investigate, play, and get into whatever is happening. One of his favorite pastimes is watching Cat TV, where he takes his job of keeping an eye on the neighborhood very seriously.
When the excitement winds down, Albus becomes an affectionate cuddle companion.

Meet Meesha !

Read more about Meesha

Hi, I’m Meesha! I’m a petite young cat who became a mama when I was still a kitten myself. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m still a playful, loving girl.
I love looking out windows, playing with my mouse and ball tower, and enjoying a good meal. .
Right now, I’m looking for a safe, loving forever home where I can finally be a young cat again—play, relax, be spoiled, and feel safe indoors.
I’m not a big fan of boy cats right now, so I may do best as your one-and-only kitty or with slow introductions.
I’ve had my babies, and now it’s my turn to be loved. Will you be my forever family? ?

10. Millie

Adult · Female · Tabby (short coat) · 21 mi from Perryville

Please open your arms and heart to Millie. She was very scared and shutting down in our adoption center, so one of our adoption center volunteers took her home for a break. Millie is welcoming her new environment! In her foster home, she comes to life after dark. That is when she does her eating, visits to the litter box and tossing her toys around.
During the day, she is a demure little thing with the loudest purr and searching out hands to butt with her head. Once she is comfortable with you, she will curl up and snuggle by your side, glancing over every once in a while to make sure you are still there and lauding your attention on her.

Millie is less than 2 years old. She's very cautious and will take a very long time to come around. But she loves to be pet and to have her head rubbed. Millie was playing with her foster family and is now back at our Millsboro PetSmart adoption center and looking forward to YOUR visit. In one photo, Millie is introducing herself to Blitz.

11. Tota & Amba

Adult (3 years 3 months) · Male · Maine Coon (long coat) · 22 mi from Perryville

This is a courtesty posting, we are networking Tota and Amba so they can find a great home and avoid entering a shelter.
Tota & Amba
Maine Coon mix Brothers Seeking a Home Together
Tota and Amba are bonded male longhair cats born in June 2023. They are being rehomed together due to the resident cat not liking them. This decision is unrelated to their behavior, as both cats are friendly, affectionate, and well-adjusted companions.
Having been together their entire lives, Tota and Amba share a strong bond and should remain together in their new home. They are social cats who enjoy being around people and are comfortable in both quiet and active household environments.
Personality
Tota is the more curious and playful of the pair. He enjoys exploring, interactive play, and being involved in whatever his humans are doing. He is affectionate and enjoys being held.
Amba is laid-back, affectionate, and eager for cuddles. He enjoys relaxing near his family, receiving attention, and spending quality time with his people.
Both cats are:

Read more about Tota & Amba

Friendly with people and other cats
Litterbox trained with consistent bathroom habits
Gentle and affectionate
Intelligent and highly treat-motivated
Fans of window watching, sunbathing, and interactive play

Their favorite toys include laser pointers, small fuzzy balls, and toys with tails.
Nutrition
Tota and Amba are currently fed approximately 4 oz daily of wet food, including:

Royal Canin Indoor Adult
Instinct Adult
Purina Pro Plan Chicken & Rice
Purina Pro Plan Turkey & Rice
Purina Pro Plan White Meat Chicken & Vegetables

Water is mixed into their wet food, as both cats tend to prefer moisture from their meals. They prefer still water but will also drink from a fountain.
They are free-fed Royal Canin Appetite Control dry food. Tota self-regulates his intake well, while Amba benefits from occasional monitoring around food.
Litterbox Habits
Both cats have excellent litterbox habits and are comfortable using either pellet or traditional litter.
They have successfully used:

Purina Tidy Cats
Arm & Hammer Dust Free Litter

Grooming
As longhaired cats, both benefit from routine brushing.

Tota's coat mats easily, particularly around his underarms and hind legs, and requires frequent brushing and occasional trimming for comfort.
Amba's coat is lower maintenance and typically remains tangle-free with regular brushing.

Their nails are trimmed routinely, and they enjoy having scratching posts available for normal scratching and grooming behaviors.
Lifestyle
Tota and Amba are strictly indoor cats but have experience with supervised outdoor time while wearing a leash and harness. They enjoy spending time outdoors safely, though they are equally content watching birds, people, and wildlife from a sunny window.
Neither cat displays aggressive behavior and they do not bite, scratch, or hiss except in situations where they may be frightened or distressed.
Special Note About Amba
Amba has a harmless self-soothing behavior in which he mimics kitten nursing. He seeks out a trusted person, settles into a comfortable spot nearby, and relaxes while engaging in this behavior. It is simply a comforting habit and part of his unique personality.
Ideal Home
Tota and Amba are looking for a family that can provide companionship, enrichment, and continued opportunities to stay together. They are affectionate, social cats who enjoy being part of everyday life and will make wonderful companions for the right home.
Bonded pair - must be adopted together.

Dogs, however, are not her favorite, so she would prefer a dog-free household where she can relax and be the center of attention.Black Raspberry came to us after experiencing litter box issues. After veterinary testing, we discovered that she is prone to developing bladder crystals. Because of this, she will need to remain on a prescription urinary diet, specifically Hill's c/d food, for life. This food can be prescribed and obtained through your veterinarian and is an important part of keeping her healthy and comfortable.Aside from that special dietary need, Black Raspberry is a happy, loving cat who is ready to settle into a home of her own. If you're looking for a friendly companion who will greet you with purrs, affection, and plenty of love, Black Raspberry may be the perfect addition to your family. Black Raspberry's adoption fee is $50, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! How to adopt from Animal Coalition of Delaware County, Inc.

We believe in an adoption approach that considers important details for finding the right fit, such as a person's home, interests and lifestyle. We then match those with an animal's social, exercise and training needs. Unlike “pass/fail” application programs, we strive to match people and animals through education and discovery. We accomplish this through conversation to create an effective, pleasant adoption experience — and most important — to make lasting matches. Each situation, adopter and animal requires a different approach. And while we reserve the right to refuse an adoption, we always make every effort to work with you to address concerns or find the most appropriate companion animal. Before falling in love with one of our animals, please make sure that you are: At least 21 years of age In possession of a valid photo ID Allowed to have a cat or dog where you live (proof of home ownership or copy of lease with pet clause allowing pets is required) Able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide the training, medical treatment and proper care for the animal Able to provide veterinary references for current and past veterinarians PLEASE ALLOW 4-5 BUSINESS DAYS FOR YOUR APPLICATION TO BE THOROUGHLY PROCESSED BY ONE OF OUR ADOPTION COUNSELORS If the animals are still listed on our website they are still available. Adopting a cat in Perryville

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
