1. Boo
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Female · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 28 mi from Hamilton

Lovely long-haired beauty BOO is a gentle girl looking for a new home to call her own. She's about 5 years old and currently 11 pounds. Boo was adopted from SDHR as a kitten back in 2022 and recently returned. Changes in her home over time, including the arrival of a new baby and the loss of her canine companions proved too stressful for Boo so we agreed to take her back and find her a home environment where she can thrive. She needs a quiet adult-only home. She lived with 2 dogs who were her dear companions and their passing broke her heart. Boo is ideally suited to a home where she will have a friendly canine or feline companion. She needs a patient adopter who will help her settle in to her new life. Boo's long lovely locks will require regular brushing to keep her looking and feeling fabulous. If you'd like to adopt beautiful Boo, please fill out a cat adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Boo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate.

Our cats are fully vetted and we require indoor-only homes. All other cats and dogs in the home must be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. We will not send cats to home where they will be declawed as it is a harmful practice that can cause lifelong physical and behavioral problems. Our cats are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, combo tested, dewormed, and microchipped.

2. Onyx
Young (1 year 5 months) · Male · Domestic Long Hair (long coat) · 28 mi from Hamilton

ONYX is management. You are staff. We just want to make that clear. Beautiful Onyx is stunning longhaired black cat looking for a home. He will be in charge of said home, of course. He is an absolute love of a kitty, around 18 months old. He's fostered with a well-trained dog and is doing very well. He likes to nap with his foster brother and cuddle with his foster mom. Onyx has lived with a cat in the past, and should be fine with a well balanced cat and a good introduction. His long lovely locks will need regular brushing to keep him looking and feeling fabulous. If you'd like to meet Onyx, please fill out a cat adoption application at

6. Kiki Diva
Adult · Female · Persian (long coat) · 31 mi from Hamilton

This beautiful purebred Persian girl was born January 1, 2019, and is looking for a quiet, stable home where she can feel secure and settle in at her own pace. She is front declawed) She is a sensitive soul who can be strongly affected by changes in her environment and routine. She previously lived with another cat and tolerates both cats and dogs, although she doesn’t necessarily need their companionship. She was surrendered after she began having litter box issues following two significant changes in her home: her owner's daughter left for college and her longtime companion cat was rehomed. Because of this history, we feel she will do best in a calm, predictable household with an adopter who understands that stress can affect a cat’s behavior and is willing to give her plenty of time to adjust.Persians also require regular grooming and coat maintenance, so her new family should be prepared to keep up with her beautiful coat.

Vet guessed Gandalf was born around 7-8-18 If correct, around 8 years old. A very regal, long haired, incredibly soft, orange tabby. Hence his name. He is the sweetest, most loving kitty ever. If you love a Velcro cat, he’s your guy. He requires brushing, which he loves. Very easy to handle and maintain.
He is currently a bit chunky as he eats his and his girlfriend's wet food.
He’s had all his vaccines, incl rabies, he's neutered and microchipped. Indoor only. One of the best kitties ever.
Only consideration is that he has not yet learned about personal space. He loves to be with you (while sitting, while sleeping, while walking).

Caring for a long-haired cat
Long coats need regular grooming: brushing a few times a week, and every day when they shed in spring, stops knots and mats from forming and cuts down on hairballs.
Get them used to it gently, with short sessions and a treat afterward. A wide-toothed comb and a soft slicker brush handle most coats.
