1. Jasmine

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 34 mi from Jamestown

Hi my name is Jasmine. Obviously I'm a princess but officially I'm a Domestic Short hair Calico. I'm a year and a half old. I currently have several loyal subjects. The residents of my kingsom are adult and child humans, canines and my personal advisor who is a black Manx cat.

I would happily rein over dogs and humans of all ages. I would be open to interviewing other felines to be members of my court.

My requirements for my new castle should include a throne in a sunny window, toys of all kinds, and possibly a human jester to perform in my court and stroke my luxurious fur upon request.

3. Mira

Kitten (5 months 9 days) · Female · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 37 mi from Jamestown

Mannie, Marko, Minna, Mia and Mira where trapped but once caught they were actually friendly. They have done really well in their foster home and are sweet, playful kittens. Mira was the hardest kitten of the group to catch. She is very smart, talky, loves pets and has the most beautiful best soft fuzzy coat. She has a very sweet purr, kneads her paws and really really wants to be someone's best friend but she can get a little unsure. She will be a great companion for someone who is willing to have a bit of patience with her. They are FIV/Leukemia negative, current on vaccine, flea and worm treated and microchip. Their approx. DOB is 5/15/2026.

4. Alfred

Adult (2 years 11 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 37 mi from Jamestown

Alfred has has already had lot of disappointments in his short life. His was surrendered when he was one to a shelter in Rhode Island and adopted shortly after receiving his vet care and being neutered. He somehow ended up in Ohio only to be abandoned again on the streets. We have contacted the registered owner and they have not reached out to us. We made contact with the shelter in Rhode Island and they even remembered him. We are not sure why because he is a sweet, well behaved boy. He is FIV/Leukemia negative, current on vaccines, flea and worm treated and microchip. His approx. DOB is 9/27/2023.

5. Nat

Young · Female · Tortoiseshell / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 39 mi from Jamestown

This is Nat. She showed up pregnant at a family's house. They had an appointment to have her spayed, but the day before her surgery, she had 6 kittens. The babies were born on July 27 and are now in new homes or are looking for homes. Nat is ready for her own cushy life, too.

Nat will be going on November 14 to be spayed and vaccinated and get any other vet care she needs. After that, she will be ready to head to a new home.

Nat is just an overgrown kitten herself. She is about a year old.

Read more about Nat

Nat is extremely sweet and gentle. She loves wet food, windows, catnip toys, and your lap. She is a super lap kitty who would love to hang out with you wherever you are sitting down.

Nat's daughter, Chanterelle, is also looking for a home. If the pair were adopted together, there would only be one adoption fee.

Nat would be good with other cats, cat savvy children, and could be introduced to a cat friendly dog.

If you would like to find out more about Nat or to request an adoption application, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com

6. Mimi

Young · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 39 mi from Jamestown

Poor Mimi (formerly just called Momma Kitty) was a momma cat to a litter of six babies (four that have now found homes) and was living on a concrete sidewalk outside of an apartment building. A nice lady was feeding her. When it rained, Mimi would take the kittens and move them under a bush. When the sun was shining, she fed them on the sidewalk.

A concerned cat lover was worried about the kittens and Mimi and reached out to several people who all got involved to save this sweet girl. Mimi and the kittens were taken inside and began their journey to pampered house cats.

Read more about Mimi

Mimi is still only really a kitten herself at about a year and a half old. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, and treated preventatively for fleas/dewormed.

Mimi is still a little shy and is just learning what it is like to be safe. She is learning how to play and now likes to sleep on the bed with her caregiver. She is learning to trust and is becoming a very, very sweet girl.

We would like to see Mimi adopted with one of her remaining kittens, either Pan (male) or Freya (female). If she is adopted with one of the babies, there is only one adoption fee.

If you would like more information on Mimi, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com and request an adoption application.

Ravage (momma cat)
1-1.5 yo dilute tortie female. She showed up outside of the family's home skinny and with kittens. She was trapped and spayed, has had her vaccines, is FIV and Feline Leukemia negative, microchipped, and treated preventatively for fleas/dewormed.

8. Roman

Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 39 mi from Jamestown

Roman was the outside kitty of a lady who is having to re-home her cats due to dementia. Roman was used to being fed on her front porch. Since the lady has to go to assisted living, we took Roman in.

Roman could be a barn kitty, an inside/outside kitty, or an inside only cat for someone who does not mind that he does not like to be picked up and prefers pets on his own terms. He is a sensitive boy and just needs someone who understands that it frightens him to be picked up.

Read more about Roman

Roman does like to be petted, but he gets overstimulated and will let you know with a soft paw swat when he has had too much. For this reason, he could not be in a home with children.

Roman is friendly and does like head rubs and to have his face rubbed. He is also a talker and will talk to you.

Roman likes other cats. He was hanging around with another cat on the front porch of the former caregiver's home.

Roman is about 2-years-old. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia/FIV, treated preventatively for fleas/ticks, dewormed, and microchipped.

If you have a safe space where this sweet boy can land since he has lost his home, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection. FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.

Adopting a cat in Jamestown

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
