5. Nova

Young (1 year 1 month) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 36 mi from Salem

Nova is a sweet, spunky, and energetic 1-year-old cat with a big personality who plays actively and would love an energetic dog or equally playful cat who likes to interact. He enjoys being around people, playing with his favorite wand toys, and soaking up the sunshine on his window seat when playtime is over.

Read more about Nova

Nova is neutered and an indoor cat who would love a home where he can get plenty of attention, playtime, and cozy spots to relax. Nova does well with dogs and older children, but he can play a little too rough and likes to be in charge when it comes to other more sedate animals. Because of this, he would do best in a home without other cats or young children and his ideal family would understand his energetic, spirited nature and help him channel his playful energy in positive ways.

Nova is still young with the potential to be a wonderful companion. We hope to find him a loving home where he can feel comfortable, get the attention he craves, chase his favorite toys, and enjoy many sunny afternoons in his window seat.
Nova lives in Portland and his rehoming fee is $50. Nova is indoor only.

8. Lash

Adult (5 years 4 months) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 36 mi from Salem

Lash is incredibly snuggly, affectionate, and an absolute lap cat. He purrs easily, loves attention, and will likely be the first to greet guests with hopes of getting some pets and cuddles. His adorable cross-eyed look only adds to his charm!

Originally a stray, he has some past trauma that makes him fearful of other cats. While he currently gets along with both a cat and an excitable dog, he would ideally be the only pet. If he shares his home with another cat, it should be a calm, non-aggressive feline.

Read more about Lash

He MUST have access to both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor access is important for his mental well-being, and he currently uses a microchip-reading cat door.

Because he is prone to urinary issues, he eats Hill’s Prescription Diet dry food. He also absolutely loves raw rabbit and is generally an enthusiastic eater.

If you're looking for a loving, affectionate companion who will happily curl up in your lap, this sweet boy may be your perfect match! Lash lives in Portland with his owner and his rehoming fee is $50 Lash is indoor/outdoor or would use a catio.

Bringing a cat home to your dog

Tell the rescue about your dog: their size, age and energy. A cat who has lived with a calm dog may still be nervous around a bouncy puppy.

Introduce them slowly. Keep the cat in a room of their own for the first few days, swap bedding so they get used to each other's scent, and then let them meet with the dog on a leash.

Make sure the cat can always get somewhere the dog can't reach, and keep the litter box and food bowls out of the dog's way.
