1. Charlotte
Senior (12 years) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Char/Meck Animal Control was notified by a couple that a cat had shown up at their house. She was scanned for a microchip that came back to the SCHS...from 2015! Unregistered, we have CHARLOTTE back and have caught her up on her vetting. She is a total sweetheart: calm, friendly, but with not many teeth. This, however, does not stop her from eating and she enjoys her meals. She is also four-paw declawed, but doesn't hold that against us. She will make a wonderful lap cat!
The standard adoption fee is $120 cash or $125 debit/credit. This includes feline testing, vaccines, spaying/neutering, micro-chipping and de-worming. You may complete an application to start the adoption process at www.stanlycountyhumanesociety.org, under the 'Adoption' tab. Like us on facebook at Stanly County Humane Society Cats. Meet Golden Snitch!Four months old. Professional cuddler. Former roadside fugitive.G Snitch wasn’t exactly looking for a home when he was found. He was a small feral kitten found in the middle of a busy road, and thankfully someone decided his tiny life was worth stopping for.(Yep, that’s me - his foster mom!I knew he was he was special when I looked down at him on the road, and he looked into my eyes and, I mean, deep into my eyes!)At first, G Snitch wasn’t convinced this whole “human” thing was going to work out.In fact, it took 19 DAYS before he finally purred.NINETEEN. DAYS. (My 8-year-old daughter got the first purr)But once he figured out that humans could mean soft beds, a full belly, gentle scratches, cuddles, and feeling safe...

Identity: Bruce Wayne (Don't tell the Joker!)
Status: Seeking permanent Bat Cave.
By day I'm a charming, sleek black kitten enjoying the finer things - like high end wet food, deluxe catio with panoramic views and sprawling across a warm lap. But by night, I protect the bedroom from the laser light, crumpled paper, and the unsuspecting bug.

Hey, I’m GOAT — Greatest Of All Tuxedos!
I’m a guy who can’t decide whether I want to play with you or demand affection, so naturally, I choose BOTH! I love wrestling with my kitten siblings, chasing toys, and having a grand old time. Sometimes the bigger cats steal my toys, but I’m a gentleman and don’t make a fuss.

Hi, I’m Dangle —a distinguished gentleman who was found wandering the dorms of Shaw AFB, apparently after a long and successful career in outdoor exploration.
After living the outdoor life, I’ve made an important discovery: people, dogs, and other cats are actually pretty fantastic! Honestly, I should’ve tried indoor living sooner.
These days, I specialize in the finer things—cozy naps, getting attention, and keeping a very close eye on the dinner schedule. I may look distinguished, but make no mistake: when it’s time to eat, I will absolutely be your most dedicated alarm clock.

Adopting a cat in Chesterfield County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
