She was dumped in a gutter and gave birth to her babies inside a metal drainpipe in the middle of a 105-degree Texas summer. Her kittens were only a few days old, over heating in the sun, when our foster - thier recuer scooped them up just in time! Of course Mama was coming too! Despite everything she and her babies have been through, Queenie is still a sweetheart, even though she has a bit of an angry face, she’s not an angry girl. She very much sees herself as a Queen, she loves to be spoiled, and I think she’s taken her name to heart! She loves people, enjoys attention, she likes to curl up next to you to hang out.

Queenie has spent enough time surviving. Now she wants to be spoiled. She deserves a home where she never has to worry about where her next meal, safe place to sleep, or cool spot to curl up will come from. She just needs someone to give her a loving home and treat her like the queen she is! (P.s. she loves laying it front of or underneath fans to keep cool.)

Adopters must complete an adoption contract and be approved by a GAP representative or the foster parent before adoption. All dogs are required to be put on or continue their heartworm preventative and are highly encouraged to be on flea preventative. Adoption fees from the Euless Animal Shelter are: male dogs & cats = $60, female dogs and cats = $85. Male puppies under 4months $125, female puppies under 4months $150 to cover all puppy vaccine series, deworming, and neutering. Adoption fees for animals in foster: male dogs = $100, female dogs = $125 (this includes heart worm testing in addition to the vaccines and neutering). Cats in foster are $60 for males and $85 for females. If an animal has a different adoption fee, it will be listed on their specific adoption page.
Adopting a cat in Irving
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
