3. Larry & Gary

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 63 mi from Killeen

Meet Larry and Gary, two wonderful brothers with big hearts, different personalities, and a bond that makes it clear they belong together. Gary, also known as Curly, is the affectionate social butterfly who wants to be wherever the people are, while Larry is a little more independent and prefers to show his affection on his own terms. Together, they're a lovely pair who are ready to find a forever home that has room for both of them.

Read more about Larry & Gary

Gary is a true lovebug. He craves attention, loves being held, and is happiest snuggled up with his people, especially at bedtime. He's also a fan of the foster family dog, a small Bernedoodle, and enjoys playing with his canine friend. If you're looking for a cat who will happily soak up all the affection you have to offer, Gary is ready for the job.

Larry is a little more of a typical cat. He's friendly, affectionate, and easy to handle, but he's also content to do his own thing. He enjoys spending time with his people without needing constant attention. His more independent nature makes him a nice balance to Gary's enthusiastic approach to life.

Both boys are wonderful with children, even young ones. They're gentle, tolerant, comfortable being held, and have never shown any aggression. They adore their young friend in their foster home, seek her out, and love sleeping with her. Gary enjoys playing with the dog, while Larry generally keeps to himself.

These brothers are tightly bonded and love each other dearly. They spend much of their time together and often prefer playing with each other over toys. They enjoy sunny windowsills, the ball-track scratcher, and, of course, anything involving food. Both are extremely food motivated and enjoy dry food, Nulo puree treats, and dried chicken hearts. Larry tolerates nail trims very well, while Gary is a little more resistant but manageable.

Larry and Gary offer the best of both worlds: one attention-loving snugglebug and one friendly, more independent companion. They're wonderful family cats with plenty of love to give, and their bond is a special part of who they are.

If you're looking for two sweet companions to share your home, your sunny windowsills, and maybe even your bedtime, Larry and Gary are ready to meet you. These brothers are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

Adult · Male · Ragdoll · 98 mi from Killeen

(Located Austin Texas)Meet Cyrano – A Ragdoll Romantic with a Heart of Gold! Male | Approximately 2–5 Years Old | Presumed Purebred Ragdoll | Nearly 10 lbsThey say Cyrano de Bergerac had a way with words, but our Cyrano doesn't need poetry to steal your heart. Just give him a brush, and he'll serenade you with the most magnificent purr!Named after the famous romantic hero Cyrano de Bergerac, this handsome gentleman is believed to be a purebred Ragdoll, although his pedigree has not been formally verified. And much like his literary namesake, Cyrano has a tender heart, a romantic soul, and a love story that is still waiting for its happy ending.Cyrano came to SOS Cat Rescue & Rehoming as part of a heartbreaking abuse and neglect case involving a backyard breeder.

Read more about Cyrano

He was one of several presumed purebred Ragdolls rescued from conditions where proper nutrition, grooming, and basic care had been neglected. When Cyrano arrived, he weighed nearly 10 pounds. While that might sound substantial, he is actually underweight! In fact, he was one of the heavier cats rescued from this situation, which tells you just how much these beautiful animals had been deprived of proper care. But here's what makes Cyrano so extraordinary: Despite everything he's endured, he's one of the friendliest cats from the entire rescue group!A Gentleman Who Believes Love Should Be His ChoiceCyrano is affectionate, gentle, and genuinely enjoys human companionship. But this romantic gentleman has one little request: He would like to be the one who decides when it's time for cuddles. He isn't necessarily the kind of cat who wants to be scooped up and placed in your lap on demand. He prefers a relationship built on mutual trust, patience, and understanding.Let Cyrano come to you. Allow him to decide when he's ready to climb into your lap or settle beside you. Respect his boundaries, and you'll discover a wonderfully affectionate boy who truly appreciates being loved. And if you want to know the quickest way to his heart?Bring out the brush!Cyrano absolutely loves being brushed, and he rewards your efforts with a wonderfully big, rumbling purr. It's as though he's telling you how grateful he is to finally experience gentle hands and loving attention. For a cat who came from such neglect, hearing that happy purr is especially meaningful.A Handsome Ragdoll Who Needs His Daily Spa TreatmentCyrano's beautiful coat requires daily grooming, and fortunately, this is something he genuinely enjoys! His future family must be committed to brushing him every day to prevent tangles and painful matting. This isn't simply about keeping him looking handsome—it's an important part of his physical comfort and well-being.And with that big purr of his, grooming time might just become your favorite part of the day, too!His Special Nutritional & Medical CareCyrano is still recovering from the effects of prolonged neglect, and his nutritional rehabilitation is an essential part of his adoption. His new family must agree to follow the specific feeding and supplement regimen established by SOS Cat Rescue. His required care includes:Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Wet Food: As directed in his feeding plan.Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin & Stomach Dry Food: To complement his wet food according to SOS's recommendations.Purina Pro Plan FortiFlora: A probiotic supplement to support digestive health.Liqui-Tinic: A nutritional supplement to be administered according to his prescribed instructions.Daily brushing and grooming: Essential for maintaining his coat and preventing painful matting.Weekly weight monitoring: His adopter must weigh him and provide weekly progress updates to his SOS foster team.Ongoing communication: His family must be willing to work closely with SOS fosters during his recovery.Because Cyrano is underweight, consistency in his diet and supplements is especially important. His nutritional plan should not be changed without consulting SOS and his veterinarian.Behavioral: Cyrano

Meet Carlita – A Little Star with a Whole Lot of PersonalitySome girls are just born with star quality, and Carlita is definitely one of them.Named with a little nod to Carlita Kilpatrick, the actress, model, and daughter of legendary singer James Brown, our Carlita has the kind of colorful, unmistakable presence that makes you take notice. No two calicos are ever quite alike, and Carlita certainly isn't interested in blending into the crowd.Like many calico girls, Carlita has personality. Calicos have a reputation for being clever, curious, confident, affectionate, and just a tiny bit opinionated — sometimes affectionately called "calitude." Carlita fits right into that tradition. 10. Letha

Adult · Female · Ragdoll · 98 mi from Killeen

Located in Austin, Texas# Meet Letha – A Beautiful Ragdoll Learning That Love Can Be Safe Again Female | Approximately 5 Years Old | Purebred Ragdoll | Special Adoption – Experienced, Patient Home NeededSome cats come into rescue ready to be loved. Others need to learn that being loved doesn't have to be frightening. Letha is one of those special souls.Meet Letha, a beautiful Ragdoll whose story is not about instant cuddles or becoming someone's lap cat overnight. Her story is about survival, rebuilding trust, and finding that extraordinary person who understands that sometimes the greatest gift you can give an animal is simply the freedom to feel safe.Letha came to SOS Cat Rescue & Rehoming as part of a heartbreaking seizure involving a backyard breeding operation.

Read more about Letha

The cats were living in conditions where they did not have reliable access to adequate food, fresh water, or the basic care they deserved. We don't know everything about Letha's past. We aren't even certain whether she was used for breeding. But what we do know is that her experiences have left her deeply frightened of humans. And we cannot blame her.### A Little Martha Stewart? No. More Like a Letha Who Needs Her Own Private Sanctuary!Letha isn't looking for a busy household, a welcoming committee, or someone determined to turn her into a cuddly cat overnight.Right now, she needs something much simpler: a small, quiet space where she can feel completely safe.Letha is extremely fearful of human interaction, particularly when it involves handling. She may struggle or actively resist when someone attempts to clip her nails or brush her beautiful coat. For a long-haired Ragdoll, grooming is important, but with Letha, trust and safety must come first. Her new family will need to work patiently with her and coordinate necessary grooming and nail care with a veterinarian or experienced professional rather than forcing interactions that could make her more fearful. She isn't being stubborn or deliberately difficult. She's communicating the only way she knows how: "I'm scared. Please give me time."### Her Very Own Little Safe HouseWe strongly recommend that Letha begin her new life in a smaller, quiet room dedicated entirely to her comfort.Inside that room, she should have a cozy enclosed cat house, covered bed, or secure hiding spot where she can retreat whenever she feels overwhelmed. And here's the most important thing her future family needs to understand: Letha may spend weeks hiding. Not hours. Not a couple of days. Possibly weeks, and perhaps longer. Her adopter must be comfortable with the possibility that she won't immediately come out to greet them, play in front of them, or seek affection. And that's perfectly okay.We recommend installing a small pet camera so her family can quietly observe what she does when nobody is around. Is she eating? Drinking? Exploring? Playing with toys? Using her litter box? Beginning to venture outside her hiding place? These little observations will help her family understand her progress without making her feel pressured.Sometimes the most meaningful milestone isn't a cat climbing into your lap.Sometimes it's simply watching a frightened cat discover that she can come out of hiding without anything bad happening.### Food, Water & Learning That There Will Always Be EnoughOne encouraging thing about Letha is that she is eating very well!In fact, she currently has quite an appetite, which is understandable considering the conditions from which she was rescued. The cats from this breeding operation did not have reliable access to proper food and water. For Letha, having consistent meals and fresh water available is an important part of establishing security. Her weight is currently acceptable, and we want to keep her healthy and comfortable while she adjusts. We also strongly recommend providing a cat water fountain to encourage hydration, along with a separate bowl of fresh water so she always has options.A predictable feeding routine, nutritious

Located in Austin, TexasMeet Martha – A Little Martha Stewart with a Big Comeback Story! Female | Age Being Determined | 6.8 lbs of Determination, Sass & PotentialMartha Stewart built an empire around the comforts of home. Our Martha is simply dreaming of having one of her own.Meet Martha, a petite little lady who has every reason to be a bit particular about how things are done right now. And after hearing her story, we think you'll understand why!Martha came to SOS Cat Rescue & Rehoming from a heartbreaking neglect situation involving a backyard breeder. At just 6.8 pounds, this little girl arrived with nails so severely overgrown that they had curled around and become embedded in her paw pads.Imagine trying to walk, stand, or simply get comfortable when every step hurts. It's no wonder our little Martha isn't exactly rolling out the welcome mat just yet! She's understandably a little irritated, and frankly, we think she's earned the right to have an opinion.

After enduring that kind of discomfort, who wouldn't be a little grumpy?Martha Stewart Would Approve of a Proper Home Makeover! Our Martha isn't looking for a perfectly decorated mansion, an elaborate tablescape, or even monogrammed bedding. Although, knowing cats, she'd probably appreciate a plush pillow with her name on it!What she really needs is a complete lifestyle makeover—one that includes soft blankets, nutritious meals, gentle hands, and the opportunity to discover that humans can be kind.Right now, Martha is still adjusting to a world where people are helping her instead of overlooking her needs. We believe that as her pain subsides and she begins to feel safe, Martha's true personality will start to blossom. We don't expect her to be the life of the party immediately. Healing takes time, and trust isn't something that can be rushed. But we see a little girl with tremendous potential, and we're willing to give her all the time she needs.A Little More About MarthaMartha is a tiny girl with a big story. Her exact age is still being determined, and we are continuing to assess her overall health following the neglect she experienced. Her future family should understand that she may need extra patience, especially when it comes to handling and building trust. She's not a cat who needs someone to fix her personality. She's a cat who needs someone to understand what she's been through. And once she realizes that the painful days are behind her, we believe she'll begin to settle into the comforts of being a cherished companion. The Home Martha DeservesMartha would benefit from a peaceful, understanding home where she can decompress at her own pace. Her ideal adopter will celebrate the little victories—her first relaxed nap, the first time she seeks affection, and the day she realizes she can finally let her guard down. She needs someone who understands that a cat who has experienced pain may communicate differently until she feels comfortable again.Martha isn't difficult. She's been uncomfortable, neglected, and understandably overwhelmed. There's a big difference. And just like her famous namesake, we suspect Martha will eventually develop some very specific opinions about how her household should operate! After all, every home needs a Martha in charge.A New Chapter for MarthaMartha Stewart once made the phrase "It's a good thing" famous. For our Martha, a good thing would be something beautifully simple: waking up every morning knowing she'll never have to suffer from neglect again. No more painful paws. No more being overlooked. No more wondering whether someone will care.Just a warm bed, a full belly, gentle affection, and a family who sees beyond her difficult beginning.Martha doesn't need a picture-perfect home. 12. Felix & Bindy

Young (6 months) · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 63 mi from Killeen

Meet Felix and Bindy, a tuxedo boy and a gray-and-white girl who have been navigating life side by side and are finally ready for the best chapter yet: finding their forever home.

These two arrived at TP in mid-July after being surrendered in Kerrville. They were supposed to spend a short time decompressing before heading off to meet their forever family, but life had other plans. Felix and Bindy developed ringworm and spent the next eight weeks going through treatment together. Thankfully, that chapter is behind them, they're all cleared, and they are SO ready to get on with the business of being spoiled house cats.

Read more about Felix & Bindy

Felix and Bindy are affectionate, outgoing, playful, and wonderfully nosy. They move through life like a little two-cat team, playing together, sleeping near each other, investigating everything, and making sure neither misses out on whatever interesting thing is happening nearby. They don't necessarily need to be piled on top of each other to know where the other one is. They simply operate as a unit.

These two are enthusiastic participants in everything happening around them. They're curious, interactive, and very conversational, happily meowing to let you know when they'd like pets, when dinner is late, or when it's time to play. Their forever family should be prepared for plenty of purrs and frequent feline commentary.

When they're not busy chatting, they're busy playing. Wand toys, spring coils, fuzzy mice, and catnip are all excellent ways to earn their attention. They're energetic, smart, gentle, and full of personality. Once playtime is over, they'll happily settle into a sunny window, cozy heated bed, or perhaps the foot of your bed for a well-earned nap.

Both Felix and Bindy enjoy cuddles, being carried around, and a good brushing. They're confident in new places, very outgoing, and easy to get into a carrier. These are not wallflower cats. They're ready to come out, meet you, and get acquainted.

Felix and Bindy lived around other cats from birth until they were about three months old and have had positive experiences with kittens and cats. They're cat-curious and could learn to coexist with other feline friends, but their most important relationship is with each other. They've been together throughout their time at TP, sleep next to each other, play together, and need to find a home together.

They're also food motivated, so unattended meals may be considered an exciting opportunity for feline investigation. Both have excellent litter box habits, use scratching pads and posts appropriately, and permit nail trims, although neither is particularly interested in having their paws fussed over.

After surrender, treatment, and eight long weeks of ringworm recovery, Felix and Bindy are finally ready for the part they've been waiting for: a family of their very own.

If you're looking for two affectionate, outgoing, playful best friends who will greet you with purrs, opinions, and plenty of personality, Felix and Bindy are ready to meet you. Their forever home has been a long time coming, and these two are more than ready to move in.

She has been a sweet young mother to three kittens and is ready to live her own life.

She is very sweet and affectionate when she gets to know you. She can be shy at first and it may take a little time for her to warm up, but once she does, she craves and politely asks for pets and cuddles. She is not a fan of being picked up yet, but that could soon come in time. She loves to lay in the sun on the windowsill and prefers snuggling and pets over toys.

She is fine with other cats and OK with dogs also.

19. Brianna

Young · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 98 mi from Killeen

Meet Brianna – A Brave Heart Worth WinningJust like Brianna Fraser MacKenzie from Outlander, this beautiful girl isn't one to give her trust away to just anyone. And that's part of what makes earning it so special.Brianna is a striking mostly-white tabby-and-white girl with patches of tabby markings that give her a look all her own. She's beautiful, although you'll have to take our word for it sometimes because Brianna is decidedly NOT interested in becoming an Instagram model. Point a camera in her direction and she's quite likely to wonder what exactly you think you're doing.Brianna approaches people a little like her Outlander namesake approaches life: carefully, intelligently and on her own terms.

Read more about Brianna

She's guarded when she first meets someone and likes to observe before deciding you're worthy of joining her inner circle.Give her time.Once Brianna realizes you're safe, that guarded exterior begins to soften and you get to meet the girl underneath. She warms up, becomes more comfortable around you, and lets you see the sweeter side she doesn't show to everyone. And then there's playtime.Apparently, expensive cat toys are highly overrated because Brianna is perfectly happy with the important things in life: cardboard and her wire toy. Give this girl a piece of cardboard to investigate and a wire toy to chase, and suddenly that serious little exterior disappears and the playful young cat comes racing out.She also gets along well with other cats, which may help her feel more confident as she adjusts to a new home. A friendly feline companion could be a wonderful example to show her that her new humans aren't quite as suspicious as they initially appear.Brianna isn't necessarily the cat who will walk into a new home and immediately throw herself into a stranger's lap. She's the cat for someone who understands that some of the strongest relationships begin slowly.Let her watch you.Let her learn your routine.Let her decide when she's ready. And one day you'll realize that the little girl who once kept her distance has decided you're one of her people.Much like Brianna Fraser herself, she's independent, cautious, clever, playful and fiercely selective about who gets her heart. But once you've earned a place in it?That's a love worth traveling through time for.Thank you for considering adopting one of our kittens/cats.

She has a way of looking deeply into your eyes as though she’s trying to decide whether you’re worthy of her trust.Life hasn’t always treated this little queen kindly. Simba — A Little Lion Learning to Trust Every little lion deserves a pride—and Simba is looking for his. This handsome ginger boy, complete with a fluffy little tail, has been learning something important: people can be trusted. When he first arrived in foster care, he wouldn’t allow anyone to touch him. With patience and time, he has mellowed and now lets his foster pet him. For Simba, those little moments are big accomplishments.Simba does well with the other cats in his foster home, and a friendly feline companion could help him feel at home. With people, he prefers affection with all four paws on the ground.

He allows petting but currently doesn’t enjoy being picked up or held.Starting Life with Simba• Start small. Give him a quiet safe room with food, water, a litter box, a scratching surface, and a cozy hiding spot. Let him become comfortable there before gradually introducing more of the home.• Let him set the pace. Sit nearby, talk softly, and allow him to approach. Short, comfortable visits will help him learn that your company feels safe.• Build a routine. Consistent meals and gentle daily interaction can give him something familiar to count on. Offer treats or a wand toy and see what interests him.• Respect his boundaries. Enjoy the petting he accepts without pushing him to be held. His adopter should welcome the cat he is today while celebrating whatever progress comes next.• Introduce other pets gradually. Although he gets along well with his foster’s cats, new friendships still need time and supervised introductions.A Little Extra Care for His Left EyeSimba is currently being treated for a watery left eye with eye drops and allergy medication. His adopter must be comfortable continuing his prescribed care, which may include daily treatment, and following up with their veterinarian. We will share his current treatment instructions and what is known about his ongoing needs before adoption. Because Simba is still building trust with handling, we’ll also discuss how he tolerates his medication and how it is being given in foster care. His Perfect PersonSimba needs a patient adopter in a calm home who finds joy in earning a cautious cat’s trust. He is best suited to someone who doesn’t need a cat to carry around and who can support both his emotional adjustment and his current medical care.We can’t promise a future lap cat. 24. Lentil & Pinto

Young (6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 63 mi from Killeen

Meet Pinto & Lentil, a sweet bonded pair who have decided life is simply better together!

Lentil is a petite orange tabby with a gentle spirit and the sweetest quiet presence. She takes a moment to watch the world around her first and then happily joins the fun.

Pinto has discovered just how wonderful people can be, and now he's making the most of it! This handsome tabby boy, with an adorable little white smudge on his nose, is an affectionate, playful kitty who shares his purrs and sweet little meows with the people he trusts.

Read more about Lentil & Pinto

If there's a spring toy nearby, chances are this duo is already chasing it across the room. Always ready for another game, they will happily zoom from one adventure to the next before finding a cozy cat tree or soft bed to cuddle up together for a well-earned nap. When they want a little extra love, they will let you know with an endearing meow and a contented purr.

Lentil isn't a kitten who demands the spotlight. She's affectionate when you come to her, happily soaking up gentle pets while her soft purr lets you know she's enjoying every moment. Around new people she can be a little reserved but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through in the most heartwarming way.

Pinto enjoys attention, but he's happiest keeping all four paws on the ground. Rather than being carried around, he'd much rather walk over to say hello, ask for a few pets, and spend time beside you on his own terms. It's a charming little quirk that suits his independent streak while still showing just how much he enjoys being with his people. And he enjoys a friendly dog!

Both Lentil and Pinto have excellent litter box manners and usually cooperate nicely during nail trims. They love their mealtimes and are quite food motivated.

Lentil and Pinto would love to have a home with room to explore and play and interact with their people. They are curious about closed doors and eager to see what’s on the other side. Hopefully, it is you!

If you're looking for a pair of kitties who can be affectionate and playful, comfortable with each other, and their humans, and possibly a friendly dog, then Lentil and Pinto are the perfect match for you.
