Dusk was apart of a local trapping project at a mechanic shop with her friend Goblin. Her trapper saw them day in and day out and knew that this friendly girl deserved a home to call her own. Dusk is gentle and kind, seeking pets and to be close to you. Dusk is still getting used to the indoors but has quickly taken a liking to the warmth of blankets, the newfound joy of toys and the kindness of human touch. Dusk is a young cat who is still healing from the wounds caused by fending for herself outdoors, but with lots of loving and patience, she is sure to become a wonderful companion, strictly indoors of course. Ezra is a young kitten that was found outside with his sister, Danielle and surrendered to Easel. They have both spent time in a loving foster and are now ready to find their forever home, either together or to a home with another young cat under the age of 5. Both Ezra and Danielle are velcro kittens that love to curl in your lap and are constantly following their foster mom around and come when called, like dogs. They also have the best purrs. If you are looking for kittens that will bring you lots of love and joy, these two fit the bill. They would do well in any situation, especially with children, young or old. They are also a great pair for a first time adopter. Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Ainsley was recently brought back to our shelter due to no fault of her own. She is a laid-back young cat who likes to lounge in her big comfy bed at the shelter. She was a bit confused at first as to why she landed back with us has ultimately settled in quite fine. Ainsley would like nothing more to be in a home again with someone who will actually love and cherish the sweet little girl she is. She deserves a second chance and to know that not all humans are the same. If you're looking for a chill little buddy, Miss Ainsley is looking for you! Arthur is a supersized tabby, who is playful, sweet and very handsome. He happily greets everyone who stops by to say hello. He is estimated to be 4 years old. You could tell he was someone's beloved pet at one time, and really deserves to be back in a home. He was adopted, but is not a fan of other cats or dogs. So he definitely needs to be the king of his castle. He is on a "special diet" and we'll be honest, it's more expensive than regular food. But we think Arthur is worth it! He is a really special cat. If you think that Arthur would be a good fit for your family, please fill out an application online or in person. You won't be sorry and he'll be very grateful to trade his cage for your couch! Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.

Meet Bonnie! Bonnie is a sweet, playful 1-year-old mama who came to EASEL with her single kitten, Boone, after being brought in by Animal Control. Now that Bonnie is fully vetted, she’s ready to leave shelter life behind and find a loving forever home of her own. Bonnie is affectionate and playful, but loud noises and thunderstorms can make her nervous. She would thrive in a quieter home with adults or older children who will give her the love, patience, and security she deserves. Bonnie needs to be the only animal in her new home. She is not a fan of other cats or dogs, so she’s looking for a family where she can be the one and only—and get all the love and attention to herself! If you’re looking for a sweet young companion and a one-cat household sounds perfect for you, come meet Bonnie.

Blitz & Jasper are the boys, joined by their three beautiful sisters, Alyx, Itsy & Nix! They’re all sweet, playful kittens, but each has a personality all their own. Some are a little shy and need a moment to warm up, while others are outgoing little social butterflies ready to make friends immediately! That’s what makes meeting them in person so much fun—you can see which kitten (or kittens!) steals your heart. ❤️ Choose a pair, or adopt one if you already have another young cat in your home.

While on another call, one of our animal control officers was directed to a cat in distress by a couple of neighbors. They had seen a cat that was stuck between a fence begging to be saved. Valencia came to us a bit stressed given the situation but nonetheless, showed us how resilient she is. After receiving some desperately needed dental work, Valencia started blossoming into the wonderful, gentle soul that we have come to love. Valencia enjoys lounging around belly up in a big comfortable bed waiting to get some pets from anyone who passes by. She may have been in a home at one time given how friendly she is but nobody came looking for her.

Guinness is an older kitten that was found outside trying to fend for himself. He is initially shy, so he needs to find the right adopter who is patient and understanding and will give him the time to learn trust. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.

Leon is a three year old boy that was transferred from a local rescue. He is very sweet, but you can tell he had a rough life outside. Meet Selena — Looking for a Fresh Start Selena is a beautiful 3-year-old girl who was surrendered to EASEL by her owner. After living in a home, suddenly finding herself in a shelter cage has been a big and scary adjustment for her. Right now, she’s understandably unsure of her new surroundings and needs someone who will respect her space and give her time to settle in.Selena would do best with an experienced cat person who understands that some cats need patience and time to feel safe. We also feel she could thrive in a safe, appropriate barn-cat setting, where she could have the freedom and independence she prefers while still being cared for and protected.Selena didn’t choose to lose the home she knew.
