By Cats of the Day · Updated

Trenton Cats Rescue in Trenton, NJ has 127 cats and kittens up for adoption. Here are the 40 newest, each with photos, their story and how to get in touch.
Right now that's 58 kittens, 14 young cats and 53 adults.
1. Terran
Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

We think Terran is somewhere between one and two. This guy ended up getting caught during a trapping job we were doing. We asked the people in the neighberhod if he was anyone's cat, and no one claimed him, so we are going to get him a great home. He's a happy, talkative, affectionate guy who loves people. What more could you want ?

3. Jaspurr
Adult (2 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Japurr was quiet when he first came into our care now he is a purring machine. He's very small for a boy kitty. Jaspürr was found all alone, scared and hungry in a park in Trenton. The vet estimated him to be around 2 yrs old. Jaspürr has a playful and intense personality, once you gain his trust. It took a few weeks to do this, but now he really likes and looks for his humans/fosters. He is fast to explore his surroundings, jumping/climbing everywhere at his own pace. Jaspürr truly, carefully observes and learns about his humans with those bright eyes of his, you can almost see his brain trying to understand his humans’ actions. He has a soft meow, sounds almost like a baby. Jaspürr is very shy at first and it can take a few days for him to warm up (like most cats). Once he trusts you, he loves to lay by your side, rub his head on your hands and being brushed all over. He does not mind being held for a few minutes, best if wrapped on a blanket/towel. Jaspürr loves cat toys and scratching cat trees. So far, we don’t know how he relates to other cats because the resident cat in his foster home isn't interested in other kitties. Jaspürr likes sunning and looking out of windows for hours, happily watching birds/squirrels/clouds. Please consider giving this sweet boy a forever home

6. Clarendon FIV+
Adult (4 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Our adorable boy Clarendon is around four years old. Look at this cute face? How can anyone resist this guy. He was found outside and we're not sure who his family was. He's a big, calm , quiet guy who does well with other cats and like people. He is FIV+ and we will say it over and over, FIV is nothing to worry about, it's an immune deficiency, that's it. Clarendon can live with other cats who don't have FIV (he is now), it's not transmissable by anything other than a deep bite wound (he's a lover) , with good normal care, he will live as long as any other cat and does not need extra vet care because he is FIV+. He's a doll and needs someone to love him forever. Could you be his person We hope so !!!!

7. West Darin
Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

We think West Darin is somewhere between one and two years old. All the sudden he showed up in a feral colony but this dude is super friendly. This is a sure sign that this guy was dumped by his owner and was looking for food. He obviously didn't have the best original owner but we promised him we'd get him a great FOREVER home. He is affectionate and talkative.....and he like other kitties. We hope someone adopts him soon !!!

12. Nigel
Adult (2 years 3 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Meet Nigel: The Gray Gentleman with Plenty to Say
Nigel is a handsome, solid gray boy of about two years old, and he has never met a stranger he didn't like. He wandered into one of our traps during a TNR project in Trenton, hungry and clearly used to people. Someone had cared for him once, and then left him to fend for himself. Nigel doesn’t hold a grudge. He’s affectionate, social, and happy to be around his people.
He’s also a talker. Nigel will tell you about his day, his opinions on dinner, and exactly where he’d like to be petted. If you enjoy a cat who keeps up his end of the conversation, you two will get along.
Read more about Nigel
At two, Nigel is a young cat with a lot of energy and still learning his manners. He loves to play, and he plays enthusiastically, sometimes using his mouth. He’s never aggressive; he’s an excitable young cat who needs to learn what’s okay to chew on. He needs an adopter who will:
Offer lots of interactive play (wand toys, chasers, puzzle feeders) to burn off energy
Redirect mouthy moments to toys instead of hands or feet
Be patient and consistent while he learns
A home with another playful, confident cat could be a great fit, since a furry playmate would give him an outlet for all that energy. He’d thrive in an active household where someone is around to play with him every day.
If you’re looking for a loving, chatty, fun-loving companion and are ready to help a young cat grow into his best self, Nigel is waiting to meet you.

14. Paeonia
Kitten (3 months 27 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Paeonia is a sweet, playful girl with a beautiful mostly-white coat and adorable black markings on her ears. She’s full of personality and loves to have fun, but her favorite way to show affection may be with her wonderfully loud, happy purrs. She likes other kitties and would do well with another kitty and people who want to play with her ! In fact we think she needs another playful cat in her forever home. She'd love to be adopted with another one of our kittens too ! No small kids for her.
Playful, charming, and affectionate, Paeonia would love a home where she can enjoy plenty of attention, playtime, and cozy moments with her people.

16. Maizy
Young (8 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Maizy got really lucky. One of our volunteers was in Trenton, saw Maizy on the street, and scooped her up. This young lady was born in February. She has lots of energy and spends a lot of time bouncing around playing. She warms up to other cats (adults and kittens) after only a short period of adjustment and very much likes the presence of a playful companion. In addition to liking gentle cats, Maizy sees people as playmates and the source of laps and hugs. How Maizy ended up on the street we'll never know. But we know she was loved and had a home at one point. We hope someone adopts her soon! 18. Mac
Adult (2 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Mac, who is about two years old, is like a ray of sunlight glowing in his enclosure. He sits with such dignity, apparently telling himself that he'll ignore any attempt to make friends. 20. Miyana
Adult (5 years) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Miyana, who is about 5 years old, has the air of a mom who's seen everything a baby cat can throw at her. That is, she's unflappable. Turned in by her owner with five kittens, Miyana knows when to let them rumble and when to boop them for being naughty. They're all ready for their forever homes, and so is she. We're looking for a home that will love her as much as she's loved her little ones, and reassure her that her hard work is over. Two-year-old Pipsqueak was surrendered by an owner who said she had too many cats. Thin and wary, this little miss seems not too interested in visitors. Adult (6 years 1 month) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Dehlyla got really lucky. A Trenton resident found her kittens and contacted us for help for them, she knew mom had to be nearby. So, we set a trap and caught Dehlyla. We think this sweetie is around six years old. She absolutely loves people and is a very nice cat. She does okay with other kitties if they are mellow like her. She likely had an owner who let her get pregnant many times. No more kittens for this nice girl, she's on her way to the forever home she should have had for the last six years. Who is going to give Dehlyla the home she always should have had.

31. Isle
Kitten (6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Pure joy, nosy Rosie, laid back, independent, low maintenance are all ways to describe Isle. She is energetic and loves to play, either by herself or with her foster brother. She is curious and will be right with you to investigate what you are doing. She is very social and will "talk" to you, especially if she is hungry or mistakenly closed in a room. She adjusts very easily and is not a cat who hides, as she is very self confident. She has proven to be a great companion in which coming home to is a pleasure. Obviously she is quite beautiful with her plush fluffy tail, her medium long coat and outgoing personality.

32. Pearl Stone
Young (2 years 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Sweet Pearl Stone has had a tough year! She was adopted as a kitten along and returned when her adopter could no longer care for her. Then she was adopted again this spring, but although her family loved her very much, she could not get along with her adopters’ other cat. Sometimes this happens; however, Pearl has gotten along fine with other cats in her first home and in her current foster home, so she does not need to be the only cat. Pearl can be a little timid at first in new places, but she warms up in one day, but her favorite place to be is in someone’s lap, and she loves getting scratched behind her ears. She is still young and playful, and she is good with kids. She wants to get her forever home (and this time really forever) soon. Who is going to adopt this adorable girl ?

Adult (5 years 2 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Izzy and her family were brought to TCR when she was a kitten because her family lost their home in a flood. She was adopted out at the end of 2021 as a baby. Sadly her owner passed away and she was returned and adopted back out in late 2023. Now her second owner has passed and she needs a new home again for the second time in her short life. We'd like to put a smile on this girls face and find her a new forever home ASAP. Izzy gets along with low key mellow cat , no alpha cats for her.

This is how her foster dad describes her "
. OMG, she is such a sweet kitty. Loves, loves, loves to be petted. She loves to play with toys, especially the ones on strings. Not aggressive in any way. Not a fussy eater, great litter habits. When I come home from work, she is right there saying hello (or maybe it is "where the heck have you been?" ...not sure since I don't speak cat). I genuinely hope she finds a fur-ever family, she will bring joy to someone's home"

Unfortunately, his owner had some circumstances come up in their life and had to move in with family members who had other cats - they quickly found out he doesn't do well with other kitties. Antman is very shy initially but once he gets to know you, he's all in! We hope this four year old young man gets his forever home soon.

36. Azurite
Young (1 year 6 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

We think Azurite is somewhere between one and two years old. Someone in Trenton asked for help for her and another cat that appeared in their area. Her foster mom said Azurite is a kitten in a grownup cats body LOL. She's super sweet and gets along great with other cats. Someone loved her at one time but, somehow she ended up on the street. We promised her that will never happen again and that we will get her a great home.

37. Nosy
Adult (4 years 2 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Nosy is a sweet, handsome black-and-white boy with gorgeous markings, a big personality, and an even bigger heart. This lovable guy adores people, cuddles, and attention. He’s curious, affectionate, and happiest when he can be close to his humans. What he doesn’t love? Sharing his kingdom with other animals! Nosy is looking for a home where he can be the one and only pet—and, naturally, the King of the castle. He is a big boy who also happens to be a big fan of food! He’s currently working on slimming down a little to help him stay healthy, but there’s just more of him to love in the meantime. If you’re looking for a loving, cuddly companion and have room in your home for one very special cat, he may be your guy. Nosy is ready for a kingdom, and a person or family, to call his own.
