Peninsula CatWorks: 17 Cats and Kittens for Adoption
By Cats of the Day · Updated

Peninsula CatWorks in Sunnyvale, CA has 17 cats and kittens up for adoption. Here are all 17, each with photos, their story and how to get in touch.
Right now that's 2 kittens, 7 young cats, 6 adults and 2 seniors.
1. Orange Juice
Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair

Like any orange boy, OJ has a penchant for mischief. He's starved for affection, and for food. He'll never say no to wet food, and will immediately sniff out your snacks. Because he's only recently learned to live in a home, OJ has an occasional habit of sometimes urinating on soft surfaces like beds despite being litter box trained. Will need a prepared adopter ready to address this issue if needed. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Orange Juice (OJ) and his mate Clementine belonged to a small group of sociable stray cats in my neighborhood.
Read more about Orange Juice
They'd sleep and play around the children's playground structure in front of my house. Because the HOA does not allow for residents to be seen feeding them, they were not allowed to stay as community cats and were at risk of having Animal Control being called to capture and likely euthanize them. OJ is likely a father, and has at least 2 other orange kittens that had already been adopted by a fellow neighbor. He'd occasionally go to visit them by peeking through the neighbors screen door. For anybody interested in adopting him - this would be a great friendship opportunity with the other cat owners so that this small group of cats could stay connected. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Gets along great with other cats, and doesn't enjoy being alone. Orange Juice is currently living in Union City, CA 94587 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2320 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

2. Grey
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Meet Grey, a truly extraordinary feline with extra toes and an extra big heart! Grey is a polydactyl kitty—yes, she boasts six adorable toes on her paws—and she uses every single one of them to steal the hearts of everyone she meets. If you are looking for a world-class snuggler, Grey is your girl. She is exceptionally affectionate and lives for human connection. Her favorite activities include cuddling up close, purring like a tiny motor, making enthusiastic biscuits with her multi-toed paws, and sleeping right by your side every single night. Grey isn't just a total cuddle bug; she’s also a bright, playful soul.
Read more about Grey
Exceptionally smart, she has an uncanny ability to understand human emotions and language, often tuning into your voice and routine like a sweet little shadow. When she isn't busy soaking up love or keeping you company, she’s happily engaging in playtime or making friends—she gets along wonderfully with other cats and thrives in a friendly, interactive environment. Grey’s journey began this past July in a North San Jose parking lot. She wandered into a managed colony of fixed cats, clearly looking for a little help. When rescuers trapped her for TNR, a vigilant caregiver noticed her paw was bleeding right before her release. Plans changed instantly—she went home with her foster mom to heal and see if indoor life suited her. It turns out, home life suits her brilliantly! Behind those initial street-cat nerves, this sweet four-month-old revealed a remarkably affectionate, purr-heavy heart and a playful side that keeps her foster family entertained. With her charming personality, Grey could potentially fit in any home. Grey is a special polydactyl kitten who was born with extra toes on all four paws! One extra toe on her hind paw grew downward, which kept her foot from resting flat and meant she had to walk on her tiptoes or the side of her paw. Thanks to the incredible team at Peninsula Catworks, Grey had surgery to safely remove the problematic toe. She sailed through her recovery, and today she’s running, jumping, and playing just like any other happy kitten! Grey is currently living in San Jose, CA 95131 Please note:Grey is polydactyl. 3. Spooky
Adult · Female · Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed

We Adopted Spooky from HSSV 2 years back when she was 7-8 week old. She loves to get pets but on her own terms. her coat is beautiful. We adopted Spooky 2 years back. She is very independent. she loves pets on her back near tail area and under her chin. Unfortunately I have developed cat allergies, I have tried medications but it's not helping. Spooky doesn't need a lot of attention but she does love getting pets once in a day. She can live with other cats. She is good with adult who knows how to take care of cats, but is not very friendly with kids. Not that we are aware of Spooky is currently living in Cupertino, CA 95014 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2316 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

4. Ebony
Young · Female · Domestic Medium Hair

Ebony is a really sweet kitty looking for her forever home. She’s still fairly young and active and when she gets the zoomies, watch out! She spends the majority of her days resting and looking out the windows, but she also enjoys playing with laser toys, wand toys, and anything that moves. Ebony enjoys pets and comes up to cuddle when she feels like it, but she is not a clingy cat. Her personality combined with her soft fur makes her a lovely companion for anyone. Ebony was found on the streets of San Jose with her litter of four kittens. I took them in soon after when the kittens were around four weeks old and she took care of them until we adopted out the kittens at 8 and 12 weeks.
Read more about Ebony
Now she’s looking for her forever family to relax after raising a rambunctious litter. Ebony would do well in multiple different home environments. Her playfulness would do well with kids over the age of three, but her sweet side would also compliment someone with a slower pace. She also gets along with all of the cats that I have fostered, so I know she’ll do well with any cat she meets. No special needs. She is now spayed and has been dewormed and treated for fleas. Her only quirk is that she really loves human food, but she’s not in your face about it. She waits patiently for you to finish and will take any scraps that you’ll give her. I’ve been avoiding giving her most food and just let her have a few licks of my plate, but I’m sure that can be trained out of her. Ebony is currently living in Richmond, CA 94801 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2315 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

5. Drew
Adult · Male · Domestic Short Hair

-Loves to cuddle. He will come on to my bed at night and routinely wait for me to lift my arm!! He's a cuddler - Does not mind wherever you pet him, he especially loves belly scratches. - Loves staring outside - First to pick a fight with another cat I adopted my cat about four to five years ago, and he has been part of our family ever since. He was kept strictly indoors for most of his life and was always cared for as an indoor cat. Over time, he started going outside. Unfortunately, this eventually led to him bringing fleas into the house, which also affected our other cat. My mom is already allergic to cats, and the ongoing flea problem has made it difficult for us to safely and comfortably keep both cats in our home.
Read more about Drew
This has been a really difficult decision because I care about him deeply and never wanted to give him up. He is now in need of a new home where he can be properly cared for and given the attention and stability he deserves. I want to make sure he goes somewhere safe rather than simply putting him outside or leaving him without proper care. My hope is that he can find a loving home or rescue that understands his situation and can help him get settled again. Ideally, clean and safe. Drew doesn't mind anyone's existence whether it's a baby crying or a dog sleeping on his bed. Drew is currently living in Sunnyvale, CA 94087 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2314 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

6. Mack
Senior · Male · Siamese / Snowshoe / Mixed

Mack is affectionate, calm, loves to chill with his people, sleep on the bed next to you, and generally lounge around, though he can occasionally go bonkers playing with his favorite toys (catnip toys and feathered mice and wands). He can be alone for several hours, is quiet throughout the night, tends to follow when called with "come," and loves to be called "you're a good boy.” Mack loves to be brushed, especially gentle strokes on his cheeks from front to back, and to watch birds and squirrels from a comfy spot. Mack was adopted as a very young cat by the prior owner when he walked onto the school grounds where she worked.
Read more about Mack
He lived with two adult cats for about four years until they moved away and then with one young cat for about seven years until that cat passed away in October 2025. We adopted Mack through private rehoming when the prior owners moved away. Even though Mack lived with other cats in his prior family, we’ve been unsuccessful in getting Mack to accept our other cat, which is much smaller and more active. As our other cat is not a good candidate for adoption, we unfortunately need to find a good home for Mack. Mack is a very good cat who would do best in a quiet, loving, stable home, ideally with no other cats, or possibly with another cat of similar size and temperament. He also needs an experienced cat person who can read his body language and meet his needs, which can be managed by reading his cues and veterinary-prescribed food for constipation (wet and/or dry). Veterinary-prescribed food for constipation (wet and/or dry). Mack is an indoor-only cat, uses his litter box perfectly, keeps himself very well groomed and benefits from frequent brushings, and loves to scratch his litter tracking mat (soft honeycomb style). He is current on his rabies and FVRCP vaccines, microchipped, and prefers not to have his paws touched so lots of treats may help with nail trims. Mack is currently living in San Jose, CA 95127 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2313 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

7. Bobby
Adult · Male · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Bobby is a sweet quiet handsome boy who loves pets and playing. He doesn't mind being picked up or touched or moved. He doesn't stay long on a lap, but he does like being near you to be petted and rubbed. Age given is a guess. Bobby and his partner kitty, Chloe, were found out near the San Carlos Airport unfixed and unhoused in December 2023. He was neutered and returned to his location. Over the course of 6 months he was found to be friendly. The caretaker decided to bring him inside with his kitty partner. He was comfortable within an hour of being moved. An ideal situation would be for Bobby and Chloe to be rehomed together to a person familiar with cats.
Read more about Bobby
Even though they were not always together at their feeding location, they keep each other company. I am not sure if they would work with kids. They seem to love being indoor cats, not standing at the door or window scratching to get out. He does have a few broken teeth, but nothing needing immediate attention. The vet said there is one tooth that is being resorbed, and likely it will need to have some future attention, but not now. No FIV or FEV. Bobby is currently living in Belmont, CA 94002 Please note:Bobby should be adopted with his best friend For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2242 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

8. Chloe
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Chloe is a sweet cat who likes to play and talk to you with short meows. Her fur is like a mink coat - super soft. She likes to be petted and touched, and always shows her belly to be rubbed . When she gets picked up she immediately kneeds (or needles you.) When she was found in a colony, she was trapped and spayed and returned to her location. She had two kittens who were eventually adopted. Over the course of several months, she was found to be very friendly. Always rolling over and showing her belly. The caregiver decided to bring her inside with her kitty partner, Bobby She was shy at first, but settled down within 24 hours of being moved.

I am not sure if they would work with kids. They are nice indoor cats - not standing at the door or window scratching to get out. Chloe's recent vet appointment found her negative for FIV/FEV and very healthy. She is an unfussy eater and uses her litter box. 9. Sami
Young · Male · American Shorthair / Snowshoe / Mixed

Sami is the definition of a velcro cat—his absolute favorite place in the world is right next to his human. Highly social, deeply affectionate, and wonderfully clingy, he loves to follow you from room to room, keep you company during the day, and supervise whatever you are doing with his striking blue eyes. ?Despite his constant desire for connection, Sami has a delightfully calm, quiet, and gentle temperament. He isn't chaotic or hyperactive; instead, he brings a soothing, peaceful energy to every room he enters. He is happiest lounging nearby, soaking up pets, and showering you with sweet devotion.
Read more about Sami
Sami appeared out of nowhere in a local backyard one day, likely left behind after nearby encampments moved. Despite whatever hardships he faced, Sami never lost an ounce of his sweet nature - he instantly greeted his feeder with complete, heartwarming trust. Seeing how deeply he trusts and loves people, his feeder knew this special boy deserved a safe, permanent indoor home where he would never be left behind again. Given his social and calm personality, Sami can potentially fit into any home. 10. Molley
Young · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Molley is a 4-month-old kitten who is very lovable and kind. She purrs when she is being cared for and hugged. She is curious about everything she sees on the floor and loves having attention given to her. A little about Molley's story: I would feed Molley's mom (Luna) food every time she would come to my house until one day I saw belly getting bigger and found that she was pregnant. Since that day I took her inside my house and took care of her. Until she gave birth to 5 kittens (4 girls and 1 boy). I am trying to find a loving home for all 4 girls. I want Molley to find a home with a loving family where she will be taken care of for the rest of her life.

15. Loki
Adult · Male · Domestic Long Hair

Loki is a very chill, calm cat. Early on, he let me pet him, pick him up, wipe his eyes, brush his fur, touch his paws, and give him medication. He is a vocal cat, so he has only ever expressed his annoyance by meowing! Whenever I am in one place in the backyard or garage, he will lie down near me and lounge. He’s very affectionate and will brush up against anyone he first meets to ask for pets. He knows how to use a litter box, but I cannot speak to any other indoor behaviors. Since moving into my current home in South San Jose in 2024, Loki has been living outside in the neighborhood. He started hanging around my house because he was curious about my cat Oliver, whom I take outside on a leash.
Read more about Loki
Over time, I learned he was extremely friendly, enjoyed pets, human company, and treats. Loki gets along with most of the neighborhood cats, and he loves just hanging out with me when I am gardening or working on projects in the garage. Eventually, he started living in my garage/backyard/deck, and after getting him some basic care, the vet confirmed he’s not a feral cat but was abandoned. He has no microchip, and no one has claimed him over the months I’ve cared for him. Even though I would love to bring him inside, I also have a dog who does not get along with Loki at all. Loki very much wants to live indoors in the company of humans who can give him love, safety, and the comfortable life he deserves. I have contacted multiple local shelters, and many have recommended doing a private rehoming for Loki. He can be in a home with other cats, but should not be in a home with dogs. I do not know what he is like with children; however, he is very tolerate with being touched and handled and may be okay with children old enough to understand boundaries with cats. Loki spends most of his time resting and sunbathing. He enjoys short play sessions with toys, but his favorite thing to do is to be in the company of others. Loki has a history of urinary crystals and a urinary blockage. He needs to eat primarily wet food and have access to fresh water. There are great resources about how to support male cats with urinary issues, since this is a common issue. Some of the main treatments are keeping his stress low, cat water fountains, wet food, and enrichment. Loki is currently living in San Jose, CA 95136 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2288 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

He has been calm and trusting in his foster home, even allowing nail trims without any fuss. He enjoys being near his people and has quickly become a devoted cuddle companion. Sadly, his owner passed away unexpectedly at the age of 35, leaving him in need of a new home. He is now being cared for in foster while he waits for a family to love him again. 17. Kyle
Senior · Female · Turkish Van

Meet Kyle: a 13-year-old Turkish Van whose heart is as striking as her spots. When Kyle decides you're her person, she's all in - nuzzling into you, curling up in your lap, and coming to find you when she wants cuddles and pets. Thirteen years in, she knows exactly who she is: a sweet, devoted companion with a feisty streak.Kyle is what cat people lovingly call spicy. When she's overstimulated or her space is invaded, she'll say so with a scratch or a nip. She's on Prozac and it's helping a lot - she's noticeably gentler, and the scratching and biting are much less frequent. She needs a patient, cat-savvy person who can read her signals and give her room when she asks for it.
Read more about Kyle
In return you get a loyal, affectionate cat who loves deeply on her own terms. Her story is a love story. Kyle was adopted in Atlanta around 2014 by two roommates who fostered her, fell for her one-of-a-kind personality, and made her family. She's been with one of her original adopters ever since, moving from Atlanta to California, San Francisco to San Diego. These days she shares her home with two toddlers, and the noise and chaos of a busy household has become too much for her - she started scratching and biting, sometimes unprovoked, which isn't safe for her or the kids. This is a heartbreaking, loving rehoming, not a bad cat: in a calm environment, her soft side shines.A few important things:- Kyle is FeLV+. It hasn't caused her any medical issues, but she needs to be your only cat, or live only with other FeLV+ cats.- She needs a calm, adult-only home, or one with older children who understand and respect a cat's boundaries. No young children.- She's a senior special-needs girl who deserves a home that treasures her exactly as she is.Kyle is currently living in Palo Alto, CA 94301. If you have a quiet home, a patient heart, and a lap that's going unused, Kyle would love to meet you. Please note:Kyle is a Special Needs cat.Kyle needs a home with no young children.
