Gilbert

This sweet boy is living his best life right now: playful, affectionate, and totally unbothered by the fact that he's got a little extra going on with his heart. Gilbert was recently diagnosed with a heart condition (hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy) during a routine vet visit. He's not on any medication and shows no symptoms day-to-day, but his condition is considered serious, so we're looking for an adopter who's comfortable with regular check-ins with a cardiologist and a little extra attentiveness at home. Think of it as a standing autumn tradition, like apple picking, but with more purring and a vet.Gilbert was also born with a deformity in one of his front legs, where he is missing "wrist" bones.

It doesn't cause him any pain and doesn't slow him down one bit. He gets around just fine, and no amputation is medically indicated. He loves to jump his way to the comfiest places to nap, like a leaf bouncing from pile to pile until he finds the coziest spot. In exchange for a little extra care, you get a genuinely great cat who deserves every bit of love and comfort a home can offer, heart (and paw!) and all.
