2. Able
6 Months · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 16 mi from Waldorf

If waking up to snuggles and sweet, scratchy kitten kisses sounds like your idea of a perfect morning, then Able may be your guy!
Able has come a long way in his short life. He was born outside, but you’d never know it now — he has completely embraced the safe, cozy indoor life and has no intention of looking back! He absolutely loves playing with his foster brothers and sister, so his new home
must have another young, playful kitty
to keep him company.
Read more about Able
Able is a bundle of fun with plenty of energy to burn. Bring out the teaser toy or laser pointer and watch him go! He’s quite the little athlete and takes his playtime very seriously. Of course, all that hard work requires compensation… preferably in the form of treats.
When playtime is over, Able is happy to switch gears and show off his softer side. He is loving, affectionate, and always ready for some quality cuddle time with his people. He would do well in a home with cat-friendly dogs and older children who understand how to be gentle with a kitten.
With his playful personality, affectionate nature, and impressive snuggle skills, Able is ready to leave his foster home behind and become someone’s very special companion. Could you be his forever family?

What My Foster Says About Me: Garfield and his siblings are adorable, social, cuddly kittens who were eager to explore and play right when I brought them home. Garfield is the first to want to settle down next to me, and has the most adorable meow when he's seeking attention. Once he finally tires out, he is cuddly, easily handled, and a total purr machine. He and his siblings are extremely social with humans - they are constantly chasing my feet, wanting to climb up to get attention, and walking all over my keyboard. They're also great with my friendly resident cat and calm 70-pound dog.
I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Garfield, and I am a cute little kitten! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself.

Young (2 months 16 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Waldorf

Toby was found in the middle of the road as a baby. With his scratches and small cuts, we are assuming he was inside a car engine bay, and fell out on the road. Even with his harsh beginning, Toby is a sweet kitty. He loves to play and romp in his foster home. He would love to be adopted with his best friend, Eleanor!

Name: Burlina Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Best Guess for Age: 2 years Estimated DOB: 5/5/24
SEX: Spayed Female Approximate Weight: pending
Coloring: Tuxedo Type of Hair: Short
Gets Along With: With proper integration, Burlina will likely get along with other cats, dogs and kids with an acclimation period. We’re happy to help with tips and tricks!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
I am Looking For: My loving forever family! Hi! I'm Burlina, and I am a great kitty! I was a great mom to my kittens, and now it's my turn to be spoiled! I won’t ask for much- just some love, cuddles and lots of toys so I can run and play and be myself.
What My Foster Says About Me: Meet Burlina, a playful little social butterfly who is pretty sure life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest!
Burlina is an active, curious kitty who loves toys, automated gadgets, bird watching, and basically anything that keeps her entertained. She is also quite the conversationalist, so don’t be surprised if she has plenty to say when you walk through the door. And after all that playing and chatting? She is more than happy to curl up in your lap for some serious cuddle time.
Burlina is GREAT with dogs and has fully integrated into her foster home with three resident cats. She has a unique style when it comes to meeting other cats — she likes to do things her own way! — but once she gets comfortable, she is ready to make friends. She especially loves playing with her foster’s 3-year-old male cat and has become quite the fun-loving feline roommate.
She is also a true little shadow. Burlina sleeps with her foster at night, follows her around during the day, and then happily settles onto the cat tree to keep an eye on the neighborhood squirrels. She loves meeting new people and seems to genuinely enjoy being part of whatever is happening around her.
When she’s not busy playing, chatting, supervising the squirrels, or following her favorite person around, Burlina is always ready for some lap time. She is affectionate, social, playful, and wonderfully curious. She could be happy as your one-and-only kitty, but she clearly has a soft spot for furry friends, too.
And like most of us, Burlina has one little thing she has to keep an eye on: food allergies. But they certainly don’t define her! She is currently eating a fish-only wet food diet, which she absolutely loves, and we’re seeing good progress with her allergies. Her diet may need to be monitored over time, but right now, she is feeling good, eating happily, and busy being her fabulous self.
Basically, Burlina is the whole package: playful, chatty, affectionate, curious, social, and always ready for her next adventure. If you’re looking for a kitty who will keep you entertained, follow you around, supervise your backyard wildlife, and then curl up in your lap at the end of the day, Burlina might be your girl.
Note: Burlina is on a wet food fish based diet to deal with possible food allergies.
TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this cat is $200 ($350 for two cats adopted together), which includes the cost of routine vetting. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckycat

Bringing a cat home to your dog
Tell the rescue about your dog: their size, age and energy. A cat who has lived with a calm dog may still be nervous around a bouncy puppy.
Introduce them slowly. Keep the cat in a room of their own for the first few days, swap bedding so they get used to each other's scent, and then let them meet with the dog on a leash.
Make sure the cat can always get somewhere the dog can't reach, and keep the litter box and food bowls out of the dog's way.
