Phoenix is a courtesy listing, not in the AARF foster program, and we are posting online to help the owner find a home. Please visit https://aarf-tn.com/adopt/cat-adoption-application/ to apply.
Read more about Phoenix
Phoenix, is a petite, fluffy gray tabby with a heart as sweet as her soft fur! This lovely 7–9-year-old girl is a laid-back, timid soul who takes her time warming up to new people, but once she chooses you, it’s something special. Phoenix enjoys spending much of her day snoozing in a cozy hiding spot and comes out to play when the house gets quiet at night. She’s happy to entertain herself with anything small enough to catch her paws, but one of her favorite things is curling up on the bed and keeping your feet warm with her cuddles. Phoenix prefers affection on her own terms, so you may need to seek her out for some love until she feels comfortable enough to come asking for pets herself. She currently lives with another cat, two small dogs, and a toddler, whom she mostly ignores. Because she’s sensitive to loud noises and enjoys a peaceful environment, Phoenix would likely thrive in a quieter home where she can relax, settle in at her own pace, and blossom into the affectionate companion she’s meant to be. If you have a little patience and a lot of love to give, Phoenix may just decide you’re her person!

3. Sweet Pea
Adult · Female · Siamese (short coat)

Hi, my name is Sweet Pea. I’m a 5-year-old seal-point Siamese who had a pretty rough life so far. My mom died and my dad didn’t want me any more. He put me outside and I was living under the porch where I got into a tussle with something. I’m not sure what, but it bit me on the shoulder and it really hurt. It got infected, which hurt even more. At least my dad took me to the vet, but he left me there. I think that was for the best because the vet’s office was so nice. Everyone there petted me and loved on me and called SARG to rescue me! Now I’m in foster care looking for my forever home.
Things you should know about me: I love making biscuits, rubbing up against my person, and I’m quick to purr.
Read more about Sweet Pea
But I’m a little shy with new people. I spend my days watching YouTube for cats! And my nights sleeping under the covers with my foster mom! It keeps me warm and makes me feel safe. But I do like to chase a string toy now and again, and I’ll do just about anything for a treat! My fur is super soft and the patches the doctor had to shave off to make me better are growing in nicely. I’m a little nervous with sudden movements and loud noises, so I would probably do best in a home without children or dogs. If you think you’re the right fit, fill out an application. I’d love to meet you.

Read more about Ziggy
Meet Ziggy, a young, athletic little tabby with a bobtail that may just be her most charming feature! This super-friendly girl loves people and is always happy to greet you with a sweet bump and a request for some attention. While she prefers curling up beside you rather than sitting directly in your lap, Ziggy is definitely a snuggler at heart. She has a playful side, too—she loves chasing fuzzy balls and sticks, stalking her toys from underneath chairs, and pouncing when she thinks no one is watching. Her wiggling bottom tends to give away her “secret” hiding spot, though! Ziggy is also fascinated by the TV and loves watching anything that moves across the screen. Her little tail tip twitches when she gets excited, making her extra adorable, and she has even been known to climb onto her person's shoulders. After playtime, she settles down quickly and is happy to relax nearby. Ziggy has had quite the journey—she was a pregnant teen before being returned to a feral colony after being spayed—but despite her past, she absolutely adores people and is ready to discover the easy life of being someone’s spoiled girl. She would love a home where her people are around often, with plenty of windows for wildlife watching and, ideally, a catio where she can safely enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Ziggy would do best as the only pet, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves

Katy is a sleek grey kitten with a big personality and even bigger eyes. At three months old, this all grey domestic short hair has the look of a Russian Blue, with big yellow eyes and delicate little features that give her a face you will not forget. She is playful and high energy, and she is perfectly happy entertaining herself. Her little grey mouse goes everywhere with her, carried, tossed, and chased across the floor like the star of her own show. She also loves a jingle ball and will leap sky high for a fishing pole teaser. Katy came into rescue as a single orphan and is still learning gentle manners at her own pace. Like many kittens her age, she is in the nibbly stage and does best with toys for play rather than fingers. She seems interested in the other kitties in her foster home but hasn't had the chance to directly interact with them. Katy is young enough to blossom with a little patience and consistent, gentle handling. She would do best in a home with adults or older children who will play with her and keep her toy box well stocked. If you are looking for a spunky, entertaining kitten with a striking look and plenty of personality, Katy would love to meet you. Read more about Alice
Meet Alice! Alice is a beautiful 4.5-month-old long-haired tortoiseshell kitten with a personality as big as her gorgeous coat! This little girl is incredibly active, playful, and always ready for her next adventure. Alice absolutely loves wet food and can never resist a good wand toy. But her favorite activity of all is curling up on your chest while playing cat games on your phone. She’s the perfect combination of silly, playful, and cuddly! Alice does have some special needs. She has a breathing issue that doesn’t slow her down one bit - it just makes her sound like she's snoring. She’s also a little snorty and has a small wobble, losing her balance at times, but neither keeps this happy girl from living life to the fullest. She is a busy, playful kitten who doesn’t let anything stand in her way. Alice loves everyone - cats, dogs, and kids! She would love a home where she can play, cuddle, be spoiled with wet food, and be someone’s very special little girl.

29. Rory
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Rory is a beautiful female ginger kitten, about 5 months old as of August 15. She’s a little unusual—and very special—as female orange cats are less common than their male counterparts. Rory came from an outdoor cat colony, so she’s still learning that people can be trusted. She is comfortable and happy living in a home, but she isn’t ready yet for petting or being held. Instead, Rory prefers to show her affection in her own way and on her own terms.
What Rory does love is playtime! She enjoys chasing toys, watching the world go by from the screen porch, and having lively wrestling matches with her brother, Flynn.
Read more about Rory
She is an active, curious kitten who would thrive with someone who understands that socializing a shy or people-averse cat takes patience, consistency, and respect for her boundaries. Rory will need an adopter who is willing to let her set the pace as she continues to build confidence. She may never be a lap cat—and that’s okay! Her ideal person will appreciate her for who she is while giving her the time and security she needs to become the best version of Rory.
If you’re looking for a unique little ginger girl with plenty of personality and a playful spirit, Rory may be your girl.
