1. Honor
Kitten (4 months 27 days) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 6/1/26
They say it’s an honor to meet someone special, and I’m here to prove it! I’m Honor, small but mighty, with a curious mind and full of sweetness to make your heart feel truly honored! I’m an affectionate, playful little adventurer who loves climbing cat shelves to survey my kingdom and chasing jingle balls and toys with my sister, Haven, my brother, Happy, and the other cats in my foster home. I may be the smallest of the bunch, but I certainly know how to make a big impression!
Read more about Honor
I’m also a people-loving sweetheart who adores my foster’s 5-year-old human. I love watching him draw and even try my paw at making art of my own! My foster’s Chiweenie pup doesn’t faze me, either. And when my adventures are over, I’ll happily curl up in your arms like a baby, soaking up pets and purring to my and your heart’s content.
My story didn’t start out so happily—I was rescued from an unkind apartment complex where cats like me and my siblings were hurt, and we hid among used tires trying to stay safe. Now I’m ready for a future filled with love, playtime, and cozy cuddles. I’d love a furever home with another furry companion -- like one of my siblings (hint!) -- to share my adventures with, and little humans would be a wonderful bonus!
I’m looking for a family who will encourage my playful adventures, admire my climbing skills, and save plenty of lap space for our cuddle sessions. If you’re looking for a petite package with a big personality, consider this your official invitation! I promise to bring the fun, the sweetness, and all the purrs your heart can handle. It would be my honor to be your newest family member—and your forever little sidekick!
HOPE ID 26-0801-A057
Honor’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.

2. Haven
Kitten (4 months 27 days) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 6/1/26
Looking for a little haven of happiness? You’ve found her! I’m Haven, a sweet grey-and-white tuxedo girl who’s ready to charm my way into your heart, one belly rub at a time. I may be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a bit of time to feel safe, and you’ll soon see my curious, playful side shine through. Once I’m comfortable, I love exploring my surroundings and showing off my signature move: flopping onto my back to offer up my soft belly in hopes of scoring some gentle rubs. Go ahead, give me a few, and I’ll reward you with endless, contented purrs. Before you know it, you’ll be feeling right at home with me!
Read more about Haven
I’m a gentle soul who gets along well with my foster family’s little Chiweenie, their 5-year-old son, and the senior kitties in the house. I especially love playing with my brother, Happy, and my sister, Honor. We chase, tumble, and wrestle together like the silly kittens we are. My story didn’t start out quite so happy. I was rescued from an unkind apartment where cats and kittens like me and my siblings were hurt. We hid and tumbled around among used tires, trying to find safety.
Now I’m searching for a special place to call my own—a true Haven where I can feel safe, loved, and free to let my personality blossom. I’m hoping for a family who’ll spoil me with snuggles, belly rubs, and plenty of playtime. I might need a little patience at first, but once I settle in, I’ll be ready to fill your home with purrs and affection.
If your home could use a little more love and a whole lot of purrs, I might just be your purr-fect Haven! And if you happen to fall for my siblings, too, Happy and Honor would make wonderful additions to the family. Why settle for one little blessing when you could have a whole haven of happiness?
HOPE ID 26-0801-A058
Haven’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.

4. Chez
Young (2 years 7 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 3/17/24
Hey there, everyone! I’m Chez, a sweet, gentle “bicolor” gal, which means that I’m mostly brown tabby on the top part of my body and mostly white on my legs and tummy. It’s said that the eyes are the window of the soul, and once you gaze into my eyes, which look like large, green globes, you immediately see my innocence, kindness, and tenderness. I’m quite a purr baby, and sometimes Foster Meowmy has to turn up the TV because my purr motor sounds like an outboard motor.
Read more about Chez
I was adopted as a kitten to a home where I was deeply cherished by my person, but unfortunately, I’m looking for a new home through no fault of my own. My owner tearfully surrendered both me and my kitty friend Keegan back to HOPE because she had to move in as the caretaker for her mom, who has immune-compromised issues, but the apartment management did not allow cats. What a bummer – because I was so happy and contented in what I thought was my forever home. Although I really miss my hooman as well as my playmate Keegan, I’m enjoying my quiet, loving foster home where Foster Meowmy has welcomed me with open arms.
Now I’m ready to bring my sweet, gentle spirit to grace my second – and this time forever – home. Could that be you? It would be the cat’s meow if there were another kitty to be my playmate, although I’m fine being a solo kitty. I never hiss, scratch, or bite, so I’d probably be great around kids, although there were no kids in my other home. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

5. Rawl
Kitten (2 months 10 days) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 8/11/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Rawl, a friendly, affectionate, and playful pastel grey tabby fella who loves being handled and petted. I guess you’d call me a Velcro kitten because I adore being close to my beloved Foster Meowmy. I luxuriate when she scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears while I cuddle contentedly in her lap, and I sleep nestled next to her at night. If she decides to shut her bedroom door, I’ll mew on the other side to wake her up and remind her it’s breakfast time!
Read more about Rawl
A neighbor of my Foster Meowmy’s mom found me as a four-week-old orphan with no momma or siblings in sight. Of course Foster Meowmy hurried over to scoop me up, welcome me with open arms, and give me a safe haven in her home. I was delighted to find a whole surrogate family of resident cats to teach me all the manners I needed to learn since Momma was not around. My best friend is a teenage foster kitty named Astro, and we play and snuggle together like siblings. Plus the kids in my foster home keep me entertained by our interactive play with wand toys. I’m rather addicted to the Churus that all my foster hooman family offers to me!
Now I’m ready to enchant everyone with my innocent face as well as deliver love and laughter to all of my forever family, including their cats -- and maybe even their cat-friendly dogs. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today, and I promise that we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the instant we meet.

6. Julia
Senior (10 years 7 months) · Female · Torbie / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 3/3/16
Hey there, everyone! I’m Julia, an affectionate, cuddly, and laid-back “torbie” gal, which means that I’m mostly brown tabby with patches of orange that look like I’ve been sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory. I also have a white chin and one white toe! My big, green-globe eyes are truly “the window to my soul” because they convey my calm, innocent, and relaxed disposition. I love people of all ages and quickly turn on my rumbling purr motor to communicate my ecstasy when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin or ears as I cuddle in her lap.
Read more about Julia
A nice elderly gentleman adopted me from HOPE when I was a year old, and we lived blissfully together as devoted companions for nine years. Unfortunately he passed away, but his personal caregiver scooped me up and brought me to her apartment to join her active household with kids, two dogs, and a rabbit. I thrived there because I’m so easygoing and handle change so easily. However, after four months together, I lost my second home because they had to move to an apartment with a “no pets” policy. Again, I was homeless, but thank heavens HOPE always takes their cats back, and Foster Meowmy graciously stepped up to give me a place for my spirit to shine brightly as I wait patiently for my forever-and-ever home. Meanwhile, I get along with the other resident and foster kitties as I relax on the cat tree and snooze on the sofa.
Now I’m ready to display my excellent companion skills and flexible adaptability as I become the newest member of my third and final home. I’m a brave girl to trust that “the third time is the charm” for me to leave my fragrant legacy of love. All I ask is a peaceful, slow-paced life where warmth and rapport are exchanged between us. Incidentally, the vet gave me a clean bill of health at my check-up, and adopting a kitty like me who’s past the stage of kitten and juvenile mayhem has its advantages because I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

7. Nori
Young (1 year 2 months) · Female · Bombay / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 7/23/25
Hey there, everyone! I’m Nori, a sleek, velvety-soft black cat bursting with umami goodness. I’m the purrfect sushi roll: sweet lap cat, gentle nose-kisser, easygoing and intelligent cuddler. I even look like I’m smiling, as if I know a little funny secret. Basically, I’m the good-for-you kind of snack —high in nutrients for the soul, low in calories and chaos, and 100% affection that’s somehow impossible not to crave.
Read more about Nori
I’m a loving little shadow without being overly needy. I’ll rub against your legs, lounge nearby, curl up beside you, or simply keep you company while you go about your day. I’m a lap cat who loves being held and cuddled, and I’ll reward you with the most soothing, low little purr. I’m the kind of companion who adds a little extra flavor to everyday life without ever overwhelming the dish.
Wherever you go, I’m likely to follow—not because I need constant attention, but because I’m curious and believe someone has to keep tabs on things. Close a door without inviting me in? You may see the cutest, most desperate little paw reaching underneath it. Bathroom time? I consider that an invitation to climb onto your lap. Sitting on the couch? Obviously, that’s an invitation for me to flop beside you or curl up against you.
Of course, even the sweetest snack has a salty side. Don’t let my innocent face fool you—I can orchestrate a little chaos. One of my favorite games is tapping a roll of paper towels onto the floor for my foster cat siblings, who lack my “manners” and happily shred it into tiny pieces. Me? I simply supervise from nearby. Someone has to manage the operation.
I’m social, gentle, and laid-back, so it’s no surprise that I get along well with other cats and kids. I’ll happily greet strangers, but my loyal heart is reserved for the people I know and love. And given my background, that trust is especially remarkable. I was rescued from an apartment complex where cats were sadly not treated kindly. The other cats and I endured frightening and harmful treatment. Despite what I experienced, I never lost my trust in people. I remained affectionate, gentle, and trusting.
I’m comfort food in cat form: warm, soothing, and best enjoyed curled up beside you, wrapped in the softest fur, with my quiet, low-base purr humming away. I’m good for the soul—and I’m ready to be savored, cherished, and loved. So if you’re looking for easy sweetness, a little salt, a whole lot of umami, and limitless companionship to add the perfect flavor to your home, I might just be the ingredient you’ve been looking for.

8. Tot
Kitten (4 months 28 days) · Female · Tabby / American Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 5/15/26
Hi, I’m Tot, the most petite of the #fried-spuds-bunch and one seriously sweet little potato! I may be a small tot, but I’m big on flavor, golden cuddly cuteness, and crisp kitten energy that all make life more fun. I love to play, explore, chase toys, and generally keep my little paws busy. You could say I’m a pretty a-peel-ing little package!
I love pets and cuddles, and it doesn’t take much to win me over. Give me a little love, and I’m happy to be right there with you. I may be a busy little spud when there are toys to chase, but when it’s time to relax, I can make a pretty excellent couch potato (literally).
Read more about Tot
I love batting toys around, playing hide-and-seek with my foster family, including two young kids, and joining in the fun with my siblings and the other cats in my foster home. Compared with my siblings, Tater and Crinkle, I’m a little gentler and less pushy, but I’m still very much a kitten with plenty of zoomies, curiosity, and mischief to share. I’m a TOT-ally fun little spud who never wants to miss out on the action!
My story started when my young, pregnant momma was rescued and given a safe, warm place to have her babies. That’s where my siblings, Tater and Crinkle, and I got our start. Growing up with my siblings has been lots of fun, but this little Tot is ready to put down roots with a family of her very own – maybe even with one of her siblings.
If you’re looking for a petite tabby with delicious kitten energy, a gentle nature, and a whole lot of sweetness packed into one adorable package, I might just be your perfect Tot. Come meet me and see if this perfectly seasoned little Tot is the missing ingredient in your family recipe!

9. Starburst
Kitten (1 month 27 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 14 mi from Sugar Land

Hi, my name is Starburst, and I am two-month old buff orange tabby kitten! (Since I am nearly identical to 3 of my brothers, I wear a
PINK
collar.) I was born on the mean streets of Fort Bend, and a nice lady found me bundled up in a car tire with my four brothers. We had nasty eye infections, but fortunately, we were brought to a SOCA volunteer who took great care of us, and now we are looking for our forever family!
Read more about Starburst
I am a little different from my other brothers, because I can be on the skittish side. When I was first brought to my foster mom's house, I sometimes hissed at her, and it took me some time to adjust. After being with her for almost a month, I no longer hiss at her and play with my humans and my brothers, just like any typical kitten! My favorite things to do are wrestle with my brothers, run to my foster mom for hugs when she gets home from work, and curling up for a nice, long nap! Now that I have adapted to life inside, I always run up to greet the guests coming to my foster house, but my foster mom thinks I should be adopted with one of my brothers to help ease the transition to my new family's house. As long as my new family is patient with me, I should warm up just fine! My foster mom says I am sweet, purr-y, and super cute! Plus, I am litter box trained, eat wet and dry kitten food, and stay very quiet at night, so that I do not disturb anyone's sleep!
My adoption fee is $250 for me and one of my brothers, and it includes my vaccines, micro-chipping, and neuter procedure. While I am available for adoption right now, I am still too small to go to my final vet appointment for my micro-chipping and neuter surgery. Therefore, if I am adopted right now, my new family will have to agree to take me to my final vet appointment in 6-8 weeks, which SOCA will arrange and pay for.
Interested in meeting me? Then, please submit a completed application on your website! Additionally, I will be featured at the SOCA Adoption Events on Saturdays from noon-3pm at the Petsmart in Fulshear on 26290 FM 1093--I would love it if you would come visit me!

12. Willow
Kitten (6 months) · Female · Bengal / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 4/25/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Willow, an affectionate, friendly, and cuddly Bengal mix gal with
strong, dark, bold stripes on my forearms and spots on my belly that are reminiscent of an African wild cat. But let me get it straight right now -- I’m the last thing from a predator – but instead
I like to jump into Foster Meowmy’s arms so I can blanket her face with kisses and whisper sweet, soft mews in her ears. (BTW – I do like to talk!) I’m a sociable lass who is her regular bedfellow and lap cat. The instant she picks me up, I turn on my purr motor, and I’m in kitty heaven when she starts scratching my ears or cheeks.
Read more about Willow
I can easily explain why I’m so patient, trusting, and loving – my three brothers and I were rescued from Foster Meowmy's when we were just two weeks old. Our momma was nowhere in sight, so I was handled and bottle-fed by hoomans at an extremely early age. Plus I was raised with five dogs and three resident cats, who taught me a lot of the manners that my momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around.
Now I’m ready to blanket my forever family with my abundant love and devotion. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today. My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

13. Jagger
Kitten (9 months) · Male · Bombay / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 1/5/26
Read more about Jagger
Hey there, everyone! I’m Jagger, a Bombay mix fella who was named after Mick Jagger because, just like him, I can wail, I’ve got plenty of swagger, and I definitely have the Moves Like Jagger! I’m a sleek, handsome rock star with a shiny black coat and a personality that’s impossible to resist. I’m also a total love bug. I rub up against everything—and everyone—I meet, because I believe there’s no such thing as too much attention. My superstar persona comes out in the form of playful little love bites that quickly turn into sweet little licks. It’s just my rock ’n’ roll charm! I love pets, cuddles, and jumping after my favorite toys.
I’m charismatic, curious, energetic, and always ready to explore. There’s so much to see, investigate, and discover, and I certainly don’t want to miss a thing. I may be a bit of a Rolling Stone, but I’m always looking for my next adventure—and hopefully a hooman to share it with. With me around, there will never be a dull moment. And trust me, when it comes to love, entertainment, and personality, you can't get no satisfaction anywhere else!
When I was a hungry stray, I fearlessly charged up to my foster meowmy’s house looking for food and love – reminiscent of Mick Jagger charging onto the stage. I immediately wove through her legs, bopped around, and entertained her with my ploys. Between my playful personality, my adorable antics, and my very enthusiastic “singing,” I instantly earned myself a fan. If you’re looking for a handsome, affectionate, curious, slightly mischievous guy with serious swagger and a whole lot of heart, I think we could make beautiful music together—and maybe a little mischief, too.

Kitten (4 months 18 days) · Male · Tabby / American Shorthair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 5/14/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Tater, a sweet brown tabby boy who’s just the right amount of kitten energy! I’ve got plenty of zoomies and playfulness to keep life interesting, but I also know when it’s time to curl up and relax. You might say I’m a pretty well-rounded potato — golden-crisp on the outside, sweet and cuddly on the inside! I love being held, I adore getting pets, and I want to be wherever you are. If you’re walking around, I may weave right through your legs like waffle-tater fries. I might even try to climb right up your leg because I just want to be close to you.
Read more about Tater
My story started in a pretty sweet way. My young, pregnant momma needed a warm, protected place to have her babies, so my foster family rescued her and gave her the safe haven she needed. That’s where my sisters, Crinkle and Tot, and I got our start. I love to play with my sisters, a.k.a. the #fried-spuds, and the other cats in the house. Balls are especially exciting — I love batting them all around my foster home like a tiny professional potato athlete! I also enjoy playing hide-and-seek with my foster family. After a hard day of kitten business, my sisters and I like to pile onto the couch for a well-earned nap like a sack of potatoes.
I get along well with other cats and young kids, so I’m ready to bring my sweet, playful personality to a family of my very own. If you’re looking for a cuddly little brown tabby with a whole lot of sweetness and enough kitten energy to keep life fun, I might just be your perfect little Tater tot. Come meet me and see if I’m the missing potato in your family casserole!

15. Koko
Young (1 year 10 months) · Female · Torbie / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 11/22/24
Hey there, everyone! I’m Koko, a charming and friendly "patched" brown tabby gal who is named after Koko Krunch, the chocolate cereal featuring an adorable koala mascot. And honestly, the name couldn’t be more perfect for me. I may not come in a cereal box, but I do come with all the good stuff: sweetness, cuddles, and a little bit of playful crunch. I’m basically Koko Krunch with extra purrs and zero calories. And while I may be koala-inspired, loving me doesn’t mean living “down under” or turning your world upside down. With me around, everything is just right.
Read more about Koko
Why the koala connection? Because I love to cling and hug my people like they’re my very own eucalyptus tree. Give me a lap, and I’ll settle right in, put one precious paw on you, and happily cuddle or sleep beside you. I can be your little koala-bear-in-cat-form who also chirps and trills like a songbird. I’m always happy to chat with you about your day.
I’m the kind of cat who makes a home feel like home. I’m sweet, easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-maintenance. Mostly, I just want to be where my people are. I love small hoomans and big hoomans alike, and I’ll cheerfully keep you company as I make "biscuits" while you relax, work, watch TV, or drift off to sleep. I’m also okay about feline roommates, but if I’m being completely honest, people are definitely my favorite species. My heart belongs to hoomans.
And don’t mistake my easygoing personality for being boring! I absolutely love to chase and play with wand toys. I have a playful spark and enjoy having fun with my people. Really, I’m the embodiment of joy — being around me just makes life feel a little happier.
My story makes my sweetness even more remarkable. I was rescued from an apartment complex where some teenage tenants were hostile toward cats. A BB pellet had become lodged in my abdominal cavity, which was discovered when I was spayed. Despite everything I experienced, I came through it all with my love and trust in people completely intact.
So, if you’re looking for a cat who is part koala, part songbird, part baker, and 100% cuddling sweetheart, I would love to meet you. I’ve got Koko-nuts for cuddles, a song in my heart, biscuits in my paws, and an endless supply of love. All I need now is my forever eucalyptus tree — I mean, forever home.

23. Star
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 6/30/23
Hey there, everyone! I’m Star, a sweet, cuddly, and affectionate brown tabby girl who loves to crawl up in Foster Meowmy’s lap. I’m in heavenly bliss when she scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin or gently strokes my back from head to tail.
Read more about Star
I was born on a Caribbean island -- doesn't that sound exotic? -- and a tourist brought me home as a pet. I thought I was happily ensconced in my happily-forever-after home, but I guess that’s just in fairy tales. Unfortunately, when my rescuer moved out of her apartment, she abandoned me and left me behind. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy heard of my sad, homeless predicament, and she stepped up to the plate and promised to find me a loving family who will cherish me for the rest of my life.
I was understandably shaken up when I first arrived at my foster home, so I was initially shy until I warmed up to Foster Meowmy and the resident cats. Now I’m a bona fide cuddle bug extraordinaire who’s anxious to meet the family whom Meowmy has promised. I’m ready, willing, and able to share with you the love and joy in my heart, so please arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

24. Ugly Betty
Young (1 year 9 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 1/1/25
Hey there, everyone! I’m Ugly Betty, but let me clear something up right away -- I’m anything but ugly! I was given my name because the family who cared for me dumped me outside after deciding they didn’t have room for me once my Siamese kitten came along. They thought my kitten looked prettier and more "special," and I was abandoned to fend for myself against some unkind people and Lothario tomcats in their apartment complex.
Read more about Ugly Betty
But here’s what they didn’t know -- beauty isn’t about being exotic looking. It’s about what’s in your heart, and my heart is absolutely overflowing with love and joy. Pet me just a tad bit, and you’ll hear my answer loud and clear -- PURRRRRR! I adore affection, my head loves being massaged, and I’m always happy to love on my person. I’ll come running when you call because I’m excited to see you. I enjoy being held and dancing around to Foster Meowmy‘s bee-bopping to classic dance jams. I’m ready to be someone’s special girl -- the one who is chosen, cherished, and never left behind again.
I’m easygoing (and maybe that’s why I tolerate it when Foster Meowmy carries me around the house while she dances) and wonderfully affectionate, but don’t think I’m all cuddles! I have plenty of playful energy, too. Put a wand toy in front of me, and I’ll happily chase it around. I also get along wonderfully with other cats, so I’m perfectly happy sharing my home with feline friends.
I may have been treated like I was replaceable, but my foster family has taught me that I am anything but that. I’m a beautiful brown tabby with a smudged-lipsticked mouth, clear bright and slightly silly eyes, a huge heart, a loud purr, and plenty of love left over to give. Maybe my name is Ugly Betty, but I am totally "beautiful Betty" inside and out.
I’m looking for someone who will recognize what I really am -- a loving, loyal, affectionate companion who will make your home warmer simply by being in it. So if you’re looking for a sweet girl to keep you company, warm your lap, fill your home with purrs, and remind you every day that the best things aren’t always the flashiest ones . . .

Young (2 years 4 months) · Male · Siamese / Snowshoe / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 6/1/24
Hey there, everyone! I’m Astro, a friendly, affectionate, cuddly, and handsome blue-eyed lynx-point Siamese/ Snowshoe mix fella who has bonded quite closely to Foster Meowmy. I diligently follow her everywhere around the house just in case she needs my opinion on something, and I adore sleeping in bed with her at night.
Read more about Astro
A friend of Foster Meowmy’s found me as a year-old stray who was in pretty rough shape outside of her home, and fortunately she rushed me to her vet to get the care I needed. With baths, meds, and nourishing meals, she patiently nursed me back to the fitness you’d expect of a young cat, and today I’m “none the worse for wear.” (It helps that I have an enthusiastically voracious appetite!) I might add that I luxuriated in all that attention, even if it was therapeutic, after the neglect that I had previously suffered!! My feline Florence Nightingale clearly communicated to me that I was greatly loved and cherished.
Recently Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and offered to find me a wonderful forever home through the HOPE adoption program. When I arrived in my foster home, I immediately got along great with her other cats and kids. Now that I’ve blossomed into the wonderful kitty I was always destined to be, I’m ready to bring my stunning good looks and loyal, devoted companionship to my forever family. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! I promise that we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the instant that we meet. 26. Peluchin
Kitten (4 months 28 days) · Male · Bombay / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 20 mi from Sugar Land

DOB 4/6/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Peluchin, an affectionate and cuddly yet outgoing and energetic Bombay mix fella with a pale feathery “locket” at my neck and with soulful eyes that have a way of making you stop and smile. Peluchin means "stuffed animal" in Spanish, and my moniker couldn't be more perfect. With my incredibly soft, fluffy coat and sweet face, I’m like a little teddy bear whom you can hug, kiss, cuddle, and keep curled up in your lap for hours.
Read more about Peluchin
I’m a “Velcro cat” who loves people and likes to stick close to you – whether I’m in your lap receiving head massages and belly rubs or if I’m following you around wherever you go. I’ll gently paw at your leg if I need to ask for your attention. But don't let all my cuddling fool you—this little teddy bear has plenty of energy! I love playing with toys – and carrying them around in my mouth – as well as running, jumping, and exploring.
My momma Noche birthed my brother Pepe and me in the bushes of the apartment complex where Foster Meowmy lives. Pepe and I were only a few days old when Meowmy found my little family and brought all of us, including momma Noche, into the safe haven of her home. I get along great with the other cats in my foster home.
I guess you’re wondering why I have special needs. I have an unsteady gait in my back legs as well as occasional difficulties with bladder and bowel control. My vets suspect that I may have a congenital neurological condition that affects my hind quarters. I use the litter box most of the time, but I have occasional accidents that are neurological, not behavioral, in origin. I can also be prone to constipation, but this is managed with an appropriate diet. The vets are still evaluating my condition and recommend ongoing monitoring. I also have a heart murmur. In young kittens, some murmurs can disappear as they grow, while others may remain. An echocardiogram and a cardiology consultation are recommended when I’m 6 to 8 months of age to better understand the cause of the murmur and to determine whether any treatment or special care is needed.
Despite all this, I don’t see myself as “special needs.” I see myself as a happy, active, playful, and affectionate kitten who’s full of life and love. I’m looking for a special forever family who will see me as the incredible lap cat, teddy bear, and professional cuddle buddy that I am. I will happily soak up your every hug, kiss, belly rub -- and as much love as you can give me. In return, I’ll bless you with a lifetime of love right back! Some kittens are cute, some are cuddly, and some are playful. The good news is that I’m all three—and so much more.

Read more about Usher
Hey there, everyone! I’m Usher, an outgoing, friendly, and very playful Classic tabby gal who is strikingly beautiful with bold black swirls against my rich brown sides. I was named after the singer/ songwriter Usher because we both have baby faces. I love to hang around and chill out with my foster family – either Foster Meowmy or the kids -- after a rousing playtime session. I could’ve worn myself out – either by chasing the red laser dot as it bounces around the room . . . or by swatting at the feathered wand toy as it’s waved over my head. If no hooman is available and because I’m always ready to play, I can also entertain myself with the tower of balls or chasing puff balls around the room.
When I was about one month old, a friend of Foster Meowmy’s found my sister Ash and me in the attic (of all places!) with no momma in sight. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy agreed to bring us to the safe haven of her home. Ever since my arrival, I've tumbled and pounced, climbed and wrestled with Ash as well as my foster mates Mabel and Jules. The resident adult cats have been my surrogate aunts and uncles who have shown me all the manners that Momma would've taught me if she'd been around. I’m very sociable, so I even get along great with the resident dogs.
Now I’m ready to brighten my forever home with endless play sessions counterbalanced with relaxing “chill time” with my hoomans. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! I promise that I’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart the instant we meet!

Adopting a cat with children in Sugar Land
Bring the whole family to meet the cat before you adopt, and ask the rescue how the cat behaves around children your kids' ages.
Teach children to let the cat come to them, to stroke gently, and to leave the cat alone while it's eating, sleeping or using the litter box. Give the cat a high or quiet spot to retreat to.
Relaxed adult cats are often a better match for young children than kittens, which scratch and nip while they play.
