1. Murray
Young (3 months 23 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Murray was surrendered with Nellie, Gretta, and Milton. They came to us with their Mama through our spay/neuter program. Mama was fixed and was returned to her original home. The kittens stayed in our care in hopes they would find loving families our their own. All four kittens came in a little scared (understandable) but have quickly begun to adjust to the new environment. They are all affectionate and playful. We know they will be happy once they are settled into life with their families. Murray is a super sweet orange tabby male kitten. He seems like he is the "party boy" of the group. He loves to play and is happy with any toy available! Murray also loves attention is generally the first to purr of the group. This entire group seems to be an exceptionally kind and loving group. We have quickly fallen for this entire litter and you will too!

IMPORTANT* Our kittens always need the perfect partner to head home with (kittens must be adopted in pairs or have a SIMILAR AGED kitten already in the home) so please know this before you apply. Applications for single kittens will be denied. Murray deserves a family that will love and care for him and a partner kitten to help him continue to grow and develop into an amazing cat with good manners and a full heart. PLEASE take this into consideration before you apply and know that we work very hard to place our kittens in homes that set them up for the happiest, healthiest life possible. If you are interested in this kitten, please note that on your two-kitten application and we will discuss a good match based on your family, preferences, and our current availability. Personally, I believe you never can go wrong with a littermate, and Murray would be happy with any of his siblings, but he and Milton seem to have a ton of fun!

He seems like the strong sensitive type as he is the "big brother" of the group. He is the largest but also seems to "watch" us the most as if he is making sure his siblings are safe. Once he knows all is well, he quickly joins the fun and is certainly open to some attention. We have quickly fallen for this entire litter and you will too!

Nellie is a sweet and beautiful calico female kitten. She has quickly begun to show us how much she appreciates our love and care. She comes forward at mealtime and seems very happy to accept attention from all of our volunteers. We are so excited to watch this girl grow and become a confident kitty but for now we are so happy to just watch her be a happy and healthy kitten. 5. Clyde
Young (6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Check out this handsome fella! Clyde is not only a looker but he is also so very sweet. He loves people and loves ATTENTION. He will stare at you with his bright copper eyes until you notice him. Clyde also seems to be mellow and kind with other cats and because he is so young we feel another young cat in the home (or adopted in a pair from the shelter) is a must. He did come to us with Rue so we know they are great together but again because he is so friendly we believe he would adapt to almost any young and fun cat.

6. Samantha
Young (7 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

This sweet girl was surrendered with her Mom (Elsa) after spending her young life outside. Even though life has probably been difficult so far this baby is incredibly sweet and affectionate. She loves to pet, held, and just loved. She is gaining confidence every day and has begun to approach for attention. Samantha loves other cats she is in a room currently with her Mom and two other adult cats, Vern and Millie. You can find Samantha snuggled with them when she needs comfort, so we know Samantha loves other cats. Because of her age and her interest in other cats/kittens we will require Samantha to be adopted with another one of our kittens or into a home with another young cat (similar to Samantha's age or at least under age 2 years old) that is playful and open to a kitten friend.

7. Elsa
Adult (1 year 4 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Elsa was surrendered to us with her kitten Samantha. Both Elsa and "Sammy" are so incredibly sweet. Elsa survived with her kitten outside and she does have some small things that let us know it probably wasn't easy. Her one ear is missing the tip, at first glance you would think she had been ear-tipped at spay to identify a TNR cat, but that is not the case. We believe she may have damage from either an injury of some sort or her ear tip was damaged by frostbite over the harsh winter. As you can imagine Elsa is happy to be at our shelter, safe, warm, and always with a full belly. We are so happy Elsa survived whatever she did and also took such good care of her kitten Samantha who is perfect in every way. She was clearly a great Mama kitty who is now ready to live her own life with a loving family to help her continue to understand how to be a QUEEN. We know Elsa is a quick study and will no doubt adjust to a life of luxury. (Luxury to her will be food, a sunny window, and a warm bed....and of course a family to love her). Elsa seems appreciative to just be cared for, please consider giving this wonderful cat a second chance to have a beautiful life.
Read more about Elsa
Elsa is currently lucky enough to be hanging out in a foster home with one of our loved and long term volunteers. She reports Elsa is hilarious and acts like she has lived there forever. She is very talkative and super affectionate. She is fine with any of the other cats and does not even seem to mind her dogs. She basically just walks right past them and seems to barely notice their existence, as she is much more interested in "people". We love when our cats get spend a little time in foster as it really helps us have a window into how they would be in a home. We think Elsa could fit in almost anywhere that was willing to remember (every day) how wonderful she is!!

8. Millie
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Millie and Vern are a bonded pair (meaning they can only be adopted together). This beautiful couple was living outside at a local campground for years. An individual from the campground had them fixed years ago and kept an eye on them but could not bring them into her home because of other pets in the home. She cared for them so the thought of them spending another winter outside was too much and contacted us. Once we had space we were happy to add them into our crew. These two cats are amazing! We knew they had been together for years but that does not always mean cats are bonded but these two certainly are. Once we completed their intake process we were able to reunite them in a room together and it was one of the most heart warming things I have ever witnessed. Vern seemed to be pretty withdrawn during his initial time with us but once he realized Millie was there and he was able to be with her again his entire face changed, he sat up right away and for the first time he started meowing. It was the first time we heard his "voice" since arriving. Millie who is younger and a bit more outgoing than Vern instantly responded back to Vern with the sweetest voice and went to where he was laying. They touched noses and started grooming each other. It was like they were saying "I missed you so much". Vern specifically really seemed to come alive once he knew Millie was there. It was a beautiful to watch and we do not want them to ever be separated again. They are certainly better together.

Millie is a beautiful silver/grey tabby. She is outgoing and affectionate. Vern is exceptionally mellow. As long as he has Millie he seems happy. He does enjoy soft pets and kind words. Millie and Vern are both very kind and accepting to other cats. In fact, they have currently taken a kitten who arrived the same time as them under their wings. She snuggles by both of them and they will groom her as well. Vern will even let her eat his food after she finishes her own. These two seem grateful for food and safety. They enjoy being feed consistently, warm beds, and a window to feel the sunshine. Vern and Millie are both mellow cats that just want to be loved and cared for by a family that understands their commitment to each other. I think these two will fit into most any family as long as they are together FOREVER.

10. Lottie
Adult (1 year) · Female · Domestic Medium Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Lottie came to LOAR via a stray surrender. This sweet girl was hanging out in the finder's garage until we had space in our facility. They thought she was such a sweet cat and deserved a chance at an indoor life and we agree. Lottie is a doll, beautiful and affectionate. It's as if she knows she is safe now. Lottie might prefer to be your one and only as she tends to try for all of your attention when other cats come towards her while she is being loved on. She does not go after others and we do occasionally see her rubbing against other cats and sometimes snuggling with them so we are not sure if some of this behavior (attention grabbing) will pass once she is settled or if it is just her personality. We do think Lottie would be fine with a calm, patient, and well mannered cat who is fine with sharing your attention as again she is not aggressive but maybe just has not learned all of the social rules of being a cat yet. She grew up outside so resources were harder to come by so Lottie may have just learned this behavior as a way to protect herself. A new home and family that is willing to love Lottie ALOT and provide her with LOTS of attention is what this beauty is really looking for.

11. Nash
Adult (1 year) · Male · Domestic Medium Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Nash was surrendered with his brother Nico (new names) when his family was moving and could not take their pets with them (rental would not allow them). They had lived with the same people since they were kittens so are now understandably confused as to how/why they are with us, but they both remain sweet and affectionate although a little scared by all the new people, smells, sounds, and of course, the number of other cats. We believe both boys will adjust well with a little time and some extra love. They are both super affectionate, Nash would love it if you could spend your entire day with him!
Read more about Nash
Nash is a big cat with an even bigger heart. He is sweet, affectionate, and a little sensitive. He will love you with his whole heart if you give him just a little time to see that you want to love him too (maybe a couple of minutes is all it takes sometimes). Once that happens he will call for you and start his purr "motor" to let you know he is ready for your friendship, not to mention look at how handsome he is!!

We will continue to update photos and bios as we get to know these boys better.

We were told what we have seen so far, that they are sweet cats, that have lived inside with people, including children. They are very fond of each other and get along with other cats but we have not yet determined if they are a true "bonded pair" requiring them to be adopted together only, at this point we do not believe so, but of course if you have room for two, they would love to stay together.
Stay tuned for updates on these "new kids"!

13. Jasmine
Adult (1 year 2 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Jasmine is the sweetest soul! She is just a petite little girl that was found all alone as a stray and brought to our shelter, the finder said she was scared but friendly, and that she is. Jasmine is just a little unsure yet but super affectionate once you start petting her. She will lean into your hand and begin to purr as if she was waiting all day for you. We know she is on the road to stealing a special family's heart because she already has ours. This young cat deserves a chance to feel safe and loved forever. Please consider adding Jasmine to your family.

Adult (1 year 8 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Jimmy has the sweetest face and he loves when you smouch it! This guy is just a cool cat, mellow and affectionate. He is quickly getting used to shelter life, he only gets a little mouthy when you ignore him or take too long getting him his pets. Jimmy really enjoys being loved on and we think he can probably fit into most any family because of his low key attitude. This guy is just finishing up his "new kid" processing but once he is ready he will be introduced to the rest of the crew and we will update his bio and pictures as soon as we have more to share.

15. Roxie
Adult (1 year 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

Roxie came to us for a less-than-ideal situation (along with her sister Ella). They lived in a home with many other cats (unsterilized). Although it sounds like all of the cats were "loved", they were not well cared for at least by our standards, as most/all have never been provided any vetting. These two cats have since been vetted (spay, vaccinations, parasite treatments, and treatments for skin and respiratory concerns). Both cats' medical concerns have been addressed and are resolving well, we are now working on social/emotional health. Both girls seem affectionate but not completely sure how to accept love. Roxie has made significant positive progress recently. She will now roll and rub against our hands and is learning "trust" when any of our volunteers' approach. With a slow approach she happily enjoys your attention, and we have no doubt time will only help her journey. Roxie has the cutest face, she is sweet and soulful, we believe she will bond deeply to her person and/or family once she is safe/comfortable in her new home. Her adjustment may require a little extra time and patience, but this beauty is certainly going to be worth it! As always, don't forget to consider the cats they may not be the first to approach you in the shelter as some of the sweetest, most special, most deserving new friends might not have the courage to find you so please look for them!

Time is starting to help, the more time we spend in her room she will stay out for longer, she will meow for pets, she is even starting to lean into them as if to say more please. She does purr and will get comfortable in her bed occasionally even exposing her belly. We do believe as she heals physically (her skin was very irritated from fleas) she will continue to enjoy touch on her body more. These girls have been through so much and like just like people animals heal their souls in different ways and at their own pace. It is our job to figure out how we can assist in that process, but not to force it. Ella lets us know from day to day what she is ready for and it is rewarding to be part of this journey. Her adjustment may require a little extra time and patience, but this beauty is certainly going to be worth it! As always, don't forget to consider the cats they may not be the first to approach you in the shelter as some of the sweetest, most special, most deserving new friends might not have the courage to find you so please look for them!

**As a side note, if you find yourself in a situation as this man did - reach out for help BEFORE your home becomes a breeding ground of cats you are feeding but unable to provide care for. We have a spay/neuter program and will work to assist you. OR if you can, offer to help a neighbor fix their cat, if you have colony cats in your area work within your community to fix even one, if you have the means donate to programs like ours. Again, fixing even one cat will save possibly hundreds (or thousands) of helpless kittens/cats from a life of homelessness and suffering.

18. Penny
Adult (1 year 5 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Oshkosh

This beautiful cat is Penny. She is Mama to the Big Bang Theory Litter. Penny and her babies were very lucky to spend their early days/weeks in one of our wonderful foster homes, they had their very own luxury sweet. Mama and babies are all very sweet, the kittens are playful and affectionate. Penny is still cautious but very kind, calm, and absolutely gorgeous. She does like to be pet as long as you approach slowly but we know once she is comfortable and in her own home she will continue to develop into a love bug. She is a very petite tortie, without the characteristic attitude (tortitude) they many of these beauties seem to have. Penny is generally very mellow and a bit "softer" in personality. If you are looking for a quiet little cat to add to your life, Penny might just be the perfect fit.

**Now that Penny and all of her babies have been spay/neutered we will be able to update Penny's pictures. It was previously difficult to get pics of Penny that did not include at least one or several of her babies.

We do require kittens to be adopted in pairs to prevent SINGLE KITTEN SYNDROME.
SYMPTOMS INCLUDE: Acting like a kittenzilla, destructiveness, crying/constant meowing, scratching, biting, aggression, lack of sleep, inappropriate elimination, keeping you up at night and more.

Kittens need interaction with other kittens for healthy social development. Isolating a kitten can delay development emotionally, socially, and sometimes physically. Kittens who are able to remain with one of their littermates (or a similarly aged companion) tend to be healthier, happier, and better socialized.

Why adopt an adult cat in Oshkosh
An adult cat's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are used to family life.
Grown cats are calmer and need less supervision than kittens, which suits people who work long hours or have young children.
