1. Chez

Young (2 years 7 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 3/17/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Chez, a sweet, gentle “bicolor” gal, which means that I’m mostly brown tabby on the top part of my body and mostly white on my legs and tummy. It’s said that the eyes are the window of the soul, and once you gaze into my eyes, which look like large, green globes, you immediately see my innocence, kindness, and tenderness. I’m quite a purr baby, and sometimes Foster Meowmy has to turn up the TV because my purr motor sounds like an outboard motor.

Read more about Chez

I was adopted as a kitten to a home where I was deeply cherished by my person, but unfortunately, I’m looking for a new home through no fault of my own. My owner tearfully surrendered both me and my kitty friend Keegan back to HOPE because she had to move in as the caretaker for her mom, who has immune-compromised issues, but the apartment management did not allow cats. What a bummer – because I was so happy and contented in what I thought was my forever home. Although I really miss my hooman as well as my playmate Keegan, I’m enjoying my quiet, loving foster home where Foster Meowmy has welcomed me with open arms.

Now I’m ready to bring my sweet, gentle spirit to grace my second – and this time forever – home. Could that be you? It would be the cat’s meow if there were another kitty to be my playmate, although I’m fine being a solo kitty. I never hiss, scratch, or bite, so I’d probably be great around kids, although there were no kids in my other home. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

2. Tic Tac

Young (11 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 10/25/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tic Tac, a petite kitty with a not-at-all-petite personality, the cutest little blep (when my tongue-tip peeks out), and a purr motor WAY too big for my kitten-sized body! I’m basically a tiny mint with a whole lot of fizz and absolutely no idea how to contain my newfound joy.

Read more about Tic Tac

Sometimes I’m so happy to see you that I come charging over to rub and bump all over you, then roll, wiggle, and flip around for pets. Other times, I squirm so much you might wonder if I’m even interested in cuddles! But give me a little patience, and I might just melt into your arms or lap, purring loud enough to make you forget just how petite I am. And if I reach a paw toward your face, you're in for the sweetest little nose bops, complete with my signature blep and the most blissed-out expression you've ever seen.

I’m still learning how to be a proper little lovebug. I like to playfully bat at you with my paws, and sometimes I get carried away with a little nibble. I’m working on my manners, though! I’ve got lots of love and a streak of mischief packed into this petite package. Consider me a work-in-mint-progress!

You see, I had to grow up a little too fast. I was rescued from an apartment complex where cats were being harmed, and while I was still a kitten myself, I became a momma to four little ones, who are about my size now. Thankfully, a kind tenant gave us shelter on an enclosed patio.

Now my babies are growing up, and it’s finally my turn to be the baby! I’m ready to trade surviving for snuggling and motherhood for being pampered. I might need a little patience while I figure out this whole spoiled-house-cat thing, but I’ve already got the blep, the booming purr, and the enthusiastic cuddle attacks you’re sure to love.

So, are you ready for a little mint-sized mayhem who may need a fellow cautious heart? I’ll freshen up your life with my devoted little heart, enthusiastic affection, and plenty of bleppy kisses!

3. Penny

Young (2 years 5 months) · Female · Torbie / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 5/1/24

Meow! I’m Penny, a striking torbie girl with a coat that shines like a copper penny. My beautiful, rich coloring and swirling classic-tabby markings are eye-catching, but don’t let my pretty looks distract you from the fact that my purrsonality and value are priceless. They say finding a penny is lucky. But if you happen to find me, I’d say you’re the lucky one.

Read more about Penny

I’m a social butterfly who likes to make my presence known. I’ll meow here and there to let you know I’m ready for some attention, and once I have it, my sass is apparent. I love affection, playtime, and being part of whatever you’re doing. I enjoy being held and cuddled, and I’m also fond of nose kisses and nose licks—until I’ve decided I’ve had enough. Then I’ll keep you on your toes with a playful little love bite, followed by a love lick or two. It’s my way of saying, “Penny for your thoughts?”

And perhaps the most remarkable thing about me is that, despite my past, I still choose to trust people. Sadly I was rescued from an apartment complex where tenants cruelly harmed cats, yet I remained my wonderfully bossy, affectionate, and curious self—and eager to connect with people. Maybe I really am a lucky penny. Somehow, I found my way out and into a better life and possibly with you.

I’m curious and intelligent. I may not have thumbs, but I’ve learned how to open cabinets. Naturally, I have to investigate and see if there’s any buried treasure waiting to be discovered. I hang out with my foster cat siblings and would be perfectly happy being adopted into a home with other cats. But if I’m being honest, I tend to prefer the company of people and my own dreamy thoughts.

By the way, I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) FIV+ is very manageable, and I should live a normal life span with proper care.

So if you’re looking for a beautiful, clever, playful companion who will keep you entertained and fill your home with fun and warmth, you don’t need to toss a penny into a fountain and make a wish. You just need to adopt me—because I’m one lucky penny you’ll want to keep.

HOPE 26-0430-A011

Penny’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.

4. Nori

Young (1 year 2 months) · Female · Bombay / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 7/23/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Nori, a sleek, velvety-soft black cat bursting with umami goodness. I’m the purrfect sushi roll: sweet lap cat, gentle nose-kisser, easygoing and intelligent cuddler. I even look like I’m smiling, as if I know a little funny secret. Basically, I’m the good-for-you kind of snack —high in nutrients for the soul, low in calories and chaos, and 100% affection that’s somehow impossible not to crave.

Read more about Nori

I’m a loving little shadow without being overly needy. I’ll rub against your legs, lounge nearby, curl up beside you, or simply keep you company while you go about your day. I’m a lap cat who loves being held and cuddled, and I’ll reward you with the most soothing, low little purr. I’m the kind of companion who adds a little extra flavor to everyday life without ever overwhelming the dish.

Wherever you go, I’m likely to follow—not because I need constant attention, but because I’m curious and believe someone has to keep tabs on things. Close a door without inviting me in? You may see the cutest, most desperate little paw reaching underneath it. Bathroom time? I consider that an invitation to climb onto your lap. Sitting on the couch? Obviously, that’s an invitation for me to flop beside you or curl up against you.

Of course, even the sweetest snack has a salty side. Don’t let my innocent face fool you—I can orchestrate a little chaos. One of my favorite games is tapping a roll of paper towels onto the floor for my foster cat siblings, who lack my “manners” and happily shred it into tiny pieces. Me? I simply supervise from nearby. Someone has to manage the operation.

I’m social, gentle, and laid-back, so it’s no surprise that I get along well with other cats and kids. I’ll happily greet strangers, but my loyal heart is reserved for the people I know and love. And given my background, that trust is especially remarkable. I was rescued from an apartment complex where cats were sadly not treated kindly. The other cats and I endured frightening and harmful treatment. Despite what I experienced, I never lost my trust in people. I remained affectionate, gentle, and trusting.

I’m comfort food in cat form: warm, soothing, and best enjoyed curled up beside you, wrapped in the softest fur, with my quiet, low-base purr humming away. I’m good for the soul—and I’m ready to be savored, cherished, and loved. So if you’re looking for easy sweetness, a little salt, a whole lot of umami, and limitless companionship to add the perfect flavor to your home, I might just be the ingredient you’ve been looking for.

5. Penelope

Adult (6 years 10 months) · Female · Maine Coon / Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 12/3/19

Hey there, everyone! I'm Penelope, a beautiful, sweet, fluffy medium-haired girl with bright green eyes, a little mirth in my expression, and just enough sass to make sure you know I’m not just another ordinary beauty. I’m laid-back and independent, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love affection — or that I lack a purrsonality! I don’t necessarily need to be the center of attention. I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing and observing the world around me. But when you’re fabulously fluffy, attention tends to find its way to you anyway.

Read more about Penelope

I have quite a few opinions, and I’m not afraid to share them. I’ll let you know where you stand with me — sometimes vocally, sometimes by flopping over in all my fluffy glory, hoping to sucker you into giving me just a few more pets, please. I don’t mind being picked up and cuddled, either. When I’m in your arms, I’ll put my fluffy mitts on you and hold on for a hug.

I’m named after Penelope from The Odyssey — the woman who waited for Odysseus to come home to Ithaca after being away on his agonizingly long journey. And I understand waiting. I understand journeys. I was rescued near a bus stop — where journeys begin and end. I survived outdoors, despite having once known the comforts of being loved indoors. Now, I’m waiting for the part of my story where I finally get to go home.

6. Luna

Young (1 year 3 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 6/15/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Luna, a very affectionate, friendly, and beautiful pastel-grey-and-taupe tabby gal with giant olive eyes who begs Foster Meowmy to kiss me, to scratch my cheeks and chin, as well as to gently stroke my back. I’m so calm and loving that she’s more than happy to oblige. I’m no couch potato, though! No siree! I love to play with the plethora of toys that Foster Meowmy provides, and – guess what? – I even like to play with her foster kittens as well as her resident cats and dogs because they’re all friendly!

Read more about Luna

I’ve had a rough start in my young life. When I was barely a year old, my original family was evicted from their apartment and took the dog with them but dumped me outside. Thankfully a Good Samaritan who feeds a colony of community cats there noticed how friendly I was when I showed up at his feeding station. He started petting me and immediately decided that Foster Meowmy was just the person to bring me to the safe haven of her home. Boy howdy! I was delighted to be delivered from the hardscrabble life of a stray!

Foster Meowmy has whispered in my ear that she’ll find a caring family who will cherish me and who will NEVER even consider abandoning me! Now that I’ve been spayed and fully vetted, I’m looking for love in all the RIGHT places. Could it be in your home that I find the love and stability that I deserve? If so, I’m ready to bring my winsome friendliness and calm affection to bless your family. It’d be perfect if you have other cats and dogs -- and maybe even kids -- who will play with me and love me as much as my hooman pawrents do. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

7. Holly

Young (3 years 5 months) · Female · Calico (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

It's hard to find a girl like me! Not only am I petite and ridiculously cute, but I'm also sweet, confident and guaranteed to keep you laughing. And I LOVE paper; I'm absolutely obsessed! I'm only three years old. So I'm still full of playful energy but not so much that I'm high maintenance! When I happily approach you with head-butts, I love a good scratch from head to tail. And if you're in the mood to play kitten-style, I'm always up for a little gentle play wrestling too. My foster mom rescued me from a difficult situation outdoors when she saw what a sweet little people cat I was. I do really well with all my feline friends in my foster mom's home.

8. Koko

Young (1 year 10 months) · Female · Torbie / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 11/22/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Koko, a charming and friendly "patched" brown tabby gal who is named after Koko Krunch, the chocolate cereal featuring an adorable koala mascot. And honestly, the name couldn’t be more perfect for me. I may not come in a cereal box, but I do come with all the good stuff: sweetness, cuddles, and a little bit of playful crunch. I’m basically Koko Krunch with extra purrs and zero calories. And while I may be koala-inspired, loving me doesn’t mean living “down under” or turning your world upside down. With me around, everything is just right.

Read more about Koko

Why the koala connection? Because I love to cling and hug my people like they’re my very own eucalyptus tree. Give me a lap, and I’ll settle right in, put one precious paw on you, and happily cuddle or sleep beside you. I can be your little koala-bear-in-cat-form who also chirps and trills like a songbird. I’m always happy to chat with you about your day.

I’m the kind of cat who makes a home feel like home. I’m sweet, easygoing, affectionate, and wonderfully low-maintenance. Mostly, I just want to be where my people are. I love small hoomans and big hoomans alike, and I’ll cheerfully keep you company as I make "biscuits" while you relax, work, watch TV, or drift off to sleep. I’m also okay about feline roommates, but if I’m being completely honest, people are definitely my favorite species. My heart belongs to hoomans.

And don’t mistake my easygoing personality for being boring! I absolutely love to chase and play with wand toys. I have a playful spark and enjoy having fun with my people. Really, I’m the embodiment of joy — being around me just makes life feel a little happier.

My story makes my sweetness even more remarkable. I was rescued from an apartment complex where some teenage tenants were hostile toward cats. A BB pellet had become lodged in my abdominal cavity, which was discovered when I was spayed. Despite everything I experienced, I came through it all with my love and trust in people completely intact.

So, if you’re looking for a cat who is part koala, part songbird, part baker, and 100% cuddling sweetheart, I would love to meet you. I’ve got Koko-nuts for cuddles, a song in my heart, biscuits in my paws, and an endless supply of love. All I need now is my forever eucalyptus tree — I mean, forever home.

9. Suzy Q

Young (2 years 2 months) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 7/1/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Suzy Q, a sweet, calm, and affectionate gray-and-white tuxedo gal who, just like the legendary Hostess snack cake, is soft to touch on the outside and whose heart on the inside fills you with smiles. Foster Meowmy found me nursing my kittens, Ding Dong and Twinkie, inside an abandoned car in a field. Talk about good luck!!! Good Samaritan that she to the core, she brought us all to the safe haven of her home. Because of the danger of predators, I was particularly appreciative that I didn’t have to leave my babies to hunt for food anymore!

Foster Meowmy thinks that maybe I was someone’s lost or abandoned pet because I love nestling close to her, receiving her attention, and showering her with my love. I’m in heaven when she strokes me gently as well as scratches my ears, chin, and cheeks.

Young (1 year 5 months) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 4/5/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Milo, a big, happy, affectionate brown tabby fella who loves pets, scritches, and cuddles from my Foster Meowmy. My ears perk up when I hear my name, and I usually come running when she calls me because I know that lavishing attention on me is in store. I’m a garrulous boy who likes chatting with her about how her day is going. But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I’m a master at playing fetch with a pom-pom ball.

Read more about Milo

When I was about six weeks old and with no momma or siblings in sight, a Good Samaritan found me and brought me to HOPE. Boy howdy! I was relieved that I kissed the hardscrabble life goodbye because I was much too small to be fending for myself. Thank heavens that Foster Meowmy agreed to take me in because I fit in seamlessly with her four resident kittens who were about my age. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other. True confessions – I can be a bit over-zealous in my rough-and-tumbling with them because I don’t realize that I’m coming on too strong. So Foster Meowmy makes sure that we have thoroughly exhausting interactive sessions with the feathered wand toy so that I’m never bored!

Now I’m ready to bring my jovial, lovey disposition and rowdy playfulness to sprinkle joy and laughter among my new family. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give -- all I need is YOU

11. Venus

Adult (1 year 4 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 5/11/19

Hey there, everyone! I’m Venus, an affectionate, friendly, and calm brown tabby gal with big green eyes and an adorable milky-white moustache and beard. My favorite part of the day is when Foster Meowmy and I spend quality time together on the sofa. You can call me Goldilocks because I like her to give me just the right amount of head massages and neck scratches – not “too few,” or I’ll tap her with my paw to demand more, and not “too many,” or I’ll give her a gentle “love bite” (actually from being ecstatically happy), but “just right” (sigh).

Read more about Venus

I’m a chatty girl, and she seems to like it and be flattered that I greet her with a cheerful “meow.” And interactive playtime with her is a blast – whether I’m trying to stab the feather wand toy as she waves it over my head or chasing it as she wiggles it around the room like a snake. I guess I sometimes look a little foolish, but I can really throw my heart into this wand-toy business.

I was loved and cherished by my adopter, and vice versa, but unfortunately six years later, I’m looking for a new home through no fault of my own. I’ll let you in on a secret – adopting me would have its advantages as I won’t cause chaos in your home with “kitten frenzy” and I won’t break your treasured accessories. I may be a plain-clothes brown tabby on the outside, but underneath I have a heart of gold. What else do you expect from the goddess of love? Arrange to meet me today!

12. Buddy & Pina

Adult (4 years 4 months) · Male · Maine Coon / Tortoiseshell / Mixed (long coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 4/20/22 (Buddy); DOB 2/29/25 (Pina)

Hey there, everyone! We’re Buddy and Pina, a pair of bonded soulmates whose romance began at Foster Meowmy’s next-door neighbor’s community-cat feeding station. About three months after we met, we wandered together over to Foster Meowmy’s back yard in East Houston, and she was kind enough to bring us both inside when the February arctic freeze hit.

Read more about Buddy & Pina

Buddy says, “I’m a big, gentle, calm, and affectionate brown tabby Maine Coon fella who luxuriates when Foster Meowmy scratches my ears, rubs my belly, and brushes the long locks on my wispy mane, body, and flowing tail. I’m rather a lethargic couch potato, and sleeping peacefully on Foster Meowmy’s chest is one of my favorite pastimes.”

Pina says, “I’m a cuddly and sweet but spicy and energetic tortoiseshell gal who flaunts my proverbial “tortitude” with flair and offers my opinions with confident panache. I know that I’d disappoint you if I didn’t live up to the tortie’s reputation of sassiness when being affectionate with my hoomans -- on my terms, of course.”

Although we’re both pretty asymptomatic, we both are classified as having special needs. Buddy says, “I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive doesn’t stop me from living my best life as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.”

Pina says, “Just before the February arctic freeze, Foster Meowmy found me collapsed and unresponsive in her backyard. She rushed me to the vet, who diagnosed and successfully treated me for a respiratory infection, and I still occasionally suffer from asthma as a leftover result of that nasty infection. To this day, I gratefully owe my life to Foster Meowmy.”

Although we both have stolen Foster Meowmy’s heart, we think it’s time for us to let her resident cats bask in her unshared attention and to find a forever family of very own. Perhaps you’re looking for a gentle giant and kind, old soul who peacefully reigns over your hearts (that’s me, Buddy) as well as a fiercely loyal companion, ready to be the center of your attention (that’s me, Pina). Could that be you? Arrange to meet us today! Since Foster Meowmy realizes that we’ll be most contented if we remain together, she is insisting that we be adopted as a bonded pair. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation – and that arrangement probably works out best for you anyway!

Over the next few months, I became friends with Buddy, a big, gentle-giant Maine Coon, who also showed up at chow time, and after about three months, we wandered together over to Foster Meowmy’s backyard.

This was when my health took a perilous turn when, just before the February arctic freeze hit, she found me collapsed and unresponsive in her backyard. She rushed me to the vet, who diagnosed and successfully treated me for a respiratory infection, and I still occasionally suffer from asthma as a leftover result of that nasty infection. To this day, I gratefully owe my life to Foster Meowmy, who was kind enough to bring both Buddy and me to live permanently inside. I had no problem with this because I’m very food-motivated, and I’m a champ at stealing Foster Meowmy’s snacks!

I must congratulate myself for trading in my East Houston street smarts for a life of luxury where I can set up shop as my forever family’s fiercely loyal companion, ready to be the center of their attention. Could that be you? Are you ready for a classy force of nature, a main-character energy-cat who promises to steal your heart? Then arrange to meet me today! Since Foster Meowmy realizes that I’ll be most contented if I remain with my soulmate Buddy, she is insisting that Buddy and I be adopted as a bonded pair. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation – and that arrangement probably works out best for you anyway.

HOPE ID 26-0704-C058

Pina and Buddy’s $250 bonded-pair adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.

14. Buddy

Adult (4 years 4 months) · Male · Maine Coon / Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 4/20/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Buddy, a big, gentle, calm, and affectionate silver tabby Maine Coon fella who luxuriates when Foster Meowmy scratches my ears, rubs my belly, and brushes the long locks on my wispy mane, body, and flowing tail. I’m rather a lethargic couch potato, and sleeping peacefully on Foster Meowmy’s chest is one of my favorite pastimes.

Read more about Buddy

She thinks that I was someone’s abandoned or lost outdoor pet who wandered up as a friendly intact stray to her next-door neighbor’s community-cat feeding station. Over the next few months, I became friends with Pina, a sweet-and-spicy tortie gal who also showed up at chow time. About three months later, we wandered together over to Foster Meowmy’s back yard in East Houston, and she was kind enough to bring us both inside when the February arctic freeze hit. I had no problem with this because I’m very food-motivated, and I knew that there was probably an abundance of yummy food and treats inside. Sometimes I long for my previous outdoor life, but I know it’s dangerous out there on the streets, so I’m perfectly content to satisfy my “call of the wild” by sitting in a patch of sunshine on the cat tree next to a window so I can gaze at the wildlife outside.

Unfortunately, the consequences of surviving the hardscrabble life became a reality when I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive doesn’t stop me from living my best life as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.

I realized that I’d stolen Foster Meowmy’s heart when I heard her say, “Buddy is the kind of really special cat who is rare.” Now I’m ready to be the gentle giant and kind, old soul who peacefully reigns over the hearts of my forever family. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! Since Foster Meowmy realizes that I’ll be most contented if I remain with my soulmate Pina, she is insisting that Pina and I be adopted as a bonded pair. We think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation – and that arrangement probably works out best for you anyway! 15. Bonnie

Young (2 years 5 months) · Female · Snowshoe / Siamese / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 5/1/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Bonnie, a stunningly beautiful, affectionate, and playful seal-point Snowshoe/ Siamese mix gal who loves it when my hooman Daddy massages my head and rubs my belly when I snuggle in his lap. We have so much fun together when he teases me with feathered wand toys and bouncing balls on a string. True confessions: I can get a little spicy when he overstimulates me during these interactive playtimes! He always caps off our gametime with yummy Churu treats, and then I’m perfectly happy to stretch out and bask in a sunbeam for an afternoon nap.

Unfortunately, I need a new home because the other cats in my home are mean and grumpy with me. I’m relegated to living in Daddy’s office, but I heard my hooman Meowmy tell someone, “Bonnie is a wonderful cat who deserves better than to live in just one room.” I’m ready to be the enthusiastic playmate and cuddly lap cat for my forever family. Could that be you? My ideal home should be quiet because I get spooked at loud noises, and my ideal adopter should be experienced with handling cats who can be somewhat feisty when overaroused. Give me a few weeks to settle in after my arrival, and you’ll have a real Playgirl on your hands! Arrange to meet me today!

16. Star

Adult (3 years 1 month) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 6/30/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Star, a sweet, cuddly, and affectionate brown tabby girl who loves to crawl up in Foster Meowmy’s lap. I’m in heavenly bliss when she scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin or gently strokes my back from head to tail.

Read more about Star

I was born on a Caribbean island -- doesn't that sound exotic? -- and a tourist brought me home as a pet. I thought I was happily ensconced in my happily-forever-after home, but I guess that’s just in fairy tales. Unfortunately, when my rescuer moved out of her apartment, she abandoned me and left me behind. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy heard of my sad, homeless predicament, and she stepped up to the plate and promised to find me a loving family who will cherish me for the rest of my life.

I was understandably shaken up when I first arrived at my foster home, so I was initially shy until I warmed up to Foster Meowmy and the resident cats. Now I’m a bona fide cuddle bug extraordinaire who’s anxious to meet the family whom Meowmy has promised. I’m ready, willing, and able to share with you the love and joy in my heart, so please arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

17. Ugly Betty

Young (1 year 9 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 1/1/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Ugly Betty, but let me clear something up right away -- I’m anything but ugly! I was given my name because the family who cared for me dumped me outside after deciding they didn’t have room for me once my Siamese kitten came along. They thought my kitten looked prettier and more "special," and I was abandoned to fend for myself against some unkind people and Lothario tomcats in their apartment complex.

Read more about Ugly Betty

But here’s what they didn’t know -- beauty isn’t about being exotic looking. It’s about what’s in your heart, and my heart is absolutely overflowing with love and joy. Pet me just a tad bit, and you’ll hear my answer loud and clear -- PURRRRRR! I adore affection, my head loves being massaged, and I’m always happy to love on my person. I’ll come running when you call because I’m excited to see you. I enjoy being held and dancing around to Foster Meowmy‘s bee-bopping to classic dance jams. I’m ready to be someone’s special girl -- the one who is chosen, cherished, and never left behind again.

I’m easygoing (and maybe that’s why I tolerate it when Foster Meowmy carries me around the house while she dances) and wonderfully affectionate, but don’t think I’m all cuddles! I have plenty of playful energy, too. Put a wand toy in front of me, and I’ll happily chase it around. I also get along wonderfully with other cats, so I’m perfectly happy sharing my home with feline friends.

I may have been treated like I was replaceable, but my foster family has taught me that I am anything but that. I’m a beautiful brown tabby with a smudged-lipsticked mouth, clear bright and slightly silly eyes, a huge heart, a loud purr, and plenty of love left over to give. Maybe my name is Ugly Betty, but I am totally "beautiful Betty" inside and out.

I’m looking for someone who will recognize what I really am -- a loving, loyal, affectionate companion who will make your home warmer simply by being in it. So if you’re looking for a sweet girl to keep you company, warm your lap, fill your home with purrs, and remind you every day that the best things aren’t always the flashiest ones . . .

Adult (3 years 4 months) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 3/15/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Dumpling, an ultra-sweet, friendly, and playful brown tabby fella who happily purrs and makes biscuits while I cuddle in Foster Meowmy’s lap. Believe me -- I luxuriate as she scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears or dispenses Churus treats. I’m a talker who likes to chat with her about how my day is going. But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I love it when Foster Meowmy waves the feathered wand over my head so I can perform my slam-dunks that would rival any pro basketball player’s alley-oops.

My brother Dim Sum and I were anonymously abandoned at PetSmart/ Pearland, but thankfully our foster meowmy volunteered to welcome us into her home. When we first arrived we were shy, so we exclusively played and snuggled with each over while we kept aloof from the rest of the resident kitties. With time, we started hanging out with the feline gang, although I can be picky when I choose a new cat friend and prefer the boys. The girls can be such drama queens! I’ve seen the resident dogs – both big and small – and, just to be safe, I’m more willing to hang out with the small ones.

Now I’m ready to bring my sweet affection, playfulness, and beside companionship to share with my forever family. Could that be you? Although we’re available separately, Dumpling and I are very bonded and “attached at the hip.” So we think it’d be the cat’s meow if you adopted us together. DOB 6/1/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Astro, a friendly, affectionate, cuddly, and handsome blue-eyed lynx-point Siamese/ Snowshoe mix fella who has bonded quite closely to Foster Meowmy. I diligently follow her everywhere around the house just in case she needs my opinion on something, and I adore sleeping in bed with her at night.

A friend of Foster Meowmy’s found me as a year-old stray who was in pretty rough shape outside of her home, and fortunately she rushed me to her vet to get the care I needed. With baths, meds, and nourishing meals, she patiently nursed me back to the fitness you’d expect of a young cat, and today I’m “none the worse for wear.” (It helps that I have an enthusiastically voracious appetite!) I might add that I luxuriated in all that attention, even if it was therapeutic, after the neglect that I had previously suffered!! My feline Florence Nightingale clearly communicated to me that I was greatly loved and cherished.

Recently Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and offered to find me a wonderful forever home through the HOPE adoption program. When I arrived in my foster home, I immediately got along great with her other cats and kids. Now that I’ve blossomed into the wonderful kitty I was always destined to be, I’m ready to bring my stunning good looks and loyal, devoted companionship to my forever family. Could that be you? 21. Sammy

Adult (3 years 2 months) · Male · Siamese / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 6/26/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Sammy, a handsome, incredibly affectionate, and wonderfully talkative blue lilac-point Siamese mix fella who, just like Siamese purebreds, is happiest when I’m close to my favorite hoomans. I'll cheerfully follow Foster Meowmy from room to room to ensure that I can supervise her daily activities and simultaneously give her a running commentary to ensure that she never feels alone. Whether she’s cooking dinner, working from home, or just relaxing on the couch, I’ll be right there, convinced that everything is more fun when we’re together

Read more about Sammy

Some cats are born to live outdoors, but I assure you that I am not one of them. I originally showed up at Foster Meowmy's community cat feeding station looking like a grumpy, intact survivor of numerous caterwauling fights. She trapped me because she assumed that I was feral -- until I made it abundantly clear that what I really wanted was NOT freedom but a family of my very own. After surviving the hardest chapter of my life, I was more than ready to leave the streets forever and again be the spoiled house cat I had been in my past. My clipped left ear may tell the story of where I’ve been recently, but my tender, devoted disposition tells the story of where I belong.

Once Foster Meowmy brought me to the safe haven of her home, my wish list has been refreshingly simple -- a bowl of wet food, an occasional Churu treat, a soft bed, and – most of all -- someone to love.

Unfortunately, the consequences of surviving the hardscrabble life became a reality when I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.

Now I’m just waiting for someone to adopt me so that I can write the brightest chapter of my story -- complete with a happily-ever-after forever home where I’ll never have to wonder if I’m loved again. Arrange to meet me today! I can’t wait for us to have cozy conversations together because, as you’ll soon find out, I have plenty to say!

Adult (4 years 3 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 5/29/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Penny, a very sweet, gentle, initially shy brown tabby gal who just wants to love and be loved. Foster Meowmy thinks it’s adorable that I chirp instead of meow. I may not be the first cat to demand your attention because I take my time to get to know new people and places at my own pace. Once I feel safe, however, I become your loyal companion who will curl up beside you, follow you from room to room, and greet you with a happy purr. These are my ways of saying, “I love and trust you.”

Read more about Penny

When I was a tiny kitten, Foster Meowmy rescued my momma, my littermates, and me from the mean streets of Houston and brought all of us to the safe haven of her home. All of us kittens were adopted into loving homes, and my momma became a permanent member of Foster Meowmy’s family. I spent four years with a family who cared deeply for me, but over time, we realized that my quiet, gentle personality would be happier in a calmer, less chaotic home without two big, barking dogs.

When I needed a fresh start, Foster Meowmy welcomed me back with open arms, reuniting me with my momma and helping me prepare for my next chapter. Foster Mom knew that it would take time and patience for me to adjust back into my foster home, but with her gentle voice and affectionate touch, she showed me that I was securely loved, and --voilà! –watching me blossom has been something truly special for her. I enjoy playing with the feather wand toy as well as puffy balls and catnip mice. Plus I get along great with the three resident cats.

I’ve already been blessed with two families who loved me enough to put my happiness first. Now I’m looking for the family who will welcome me into my forever household. If you have a quiet home and a little patience, I think we might be exactly what each of us has been waiting for. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

23. Velma Dinkley

Young (1 year 10 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 9/21/24

Read more about Velma Dinkley

Hey there, everyone! Named after cautiously curious Velma Dinkley, the “brains” of the Mystery Group in Scooby Doo, I’m Velma, a gentle, quiet, shy, and cuddly brown tabby gal with a big heart and a chirping meow. I’m usually somewhat of a couch potato except when Foster Meowmy gets out the feather wand toy. That’s when I’m suddenly transformed into an energetic athlete, and you should see me jump up three feet in the air to snag it! I also can play a mean game of soccer with my jingle-bell ball. I do my share of chasing my sister Daphne until the roles reverse, and our tag game usually culminates in our napping together on the bed.

Foster Meowmy trapped my pregnant feral momma and brought her to the safe haven of Meowmy’s home, where Momma birthed my sister Daphne and me. Unfortunately Momma had ringworm, which she passed onto Velma and me, and it spread to all of the pets and hoomans in the whole house. Since it took months and months for everyone to get clear of the ringworm, Daphne and I got a late start getting ready to be adopted.

I’m considered a special-needs cat because I inherited a gum disease called stomatitis from my momma. Fortunately, it is not contagious, and Foster Meowmy treats it successfully by giving me a daily vitamin. The vet checks my gums twice a year for redness, and then I’m good to go.

Now I’m ready to find my forever home. Ideally, it will be quiet like I am, but I won’t mind if there is another cat or dog to join me in my playtime. Although we’re available separately, Daphne and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together as a legacy of Scooby Do’s Mystery Gang. That way we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! Let’s write a new chapter in our lives together!

DOB 6/15/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Danny, and I’m an outgoing, affectionate, and very cuddly “bicolor” fella, which means that I’m half brown tabby on my head, saddleback, and tail with a white blaze, vest, boots, and tummy. I’m really quite stunningly handsome, if I do say so myself. I’m a talkative boy, and I turn on my purr motor the instant that Foster Meowmy picks me up. My favorite places to nap are ON Foster Meowmy’s face or the highest shelf on the cat tree! There’s no in-between for this dude – I love to be up close and personal with Foster Meowmy or else far up in high places!

Read more about Danny

I’m a vivacious boy who loves to run, jump, and chase my other cat friends in my foster home. And I can also entertain myself by playing a mean game of soccer with my jingle-bell ball. Although I’ve only occasionally come in contact with the dogs in my foster home, I would probably be fine with meeting a new one as long as we are properly introduced.

An acquaintance of Foster Meowmy’s found my littermates and me outside as neonatal orphans with no momma in sight, and our rescuer bottle-fed us until we were about a month old. Once I could eat on my own, Foster Meowmy opened her home for me to join her resident cats, who have become my surrogate aunts and uncles and have taught me all the kitten manners that Momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around. I’ve always been plagued with GI problems, but once Foster Meowmy put me on sensitive-stomach wet food twice a day, with a little dry food in between, my upset tummy problems are a thing of the past. Even though the food is over the counter, I’m considered a special-needs kitty because I do need a certain food to keep my tummy well behaved!

Now I’m ready to be the lovable little scamp who waltzes into my forever home! Could that be yours? Ideally I’d love for you to have one or more cat friends to play with me. Arrange to meet me today! I promise we’ll fall head to paws in love with each other the instant that we meet!

Hey there, everyone! Named after Daphne Blake of the Mystery Gang in Scooby Doo, I’m Daphne, a sweet, petite, cuddly, and playful Bombay mix gal who enjoys giving face kisses and sleeping between people’s legs as well as playing chase with other kitties. As Foster Meowmy testifies -- I’m the perfect mix of snuggly affection and kinetic energy! I love all animals – dogs and cats – as long as we’ve been properly introduced. I’m initially shy when I first meet people, but then I become very talkative and friendly once we get acquainted. When I’m not running around the house, in my solitary moments I love to perch in the front window so that I can observe people passing before me.

Foster Meowmy trapped my pregnant feral momma and brought her to the safe haven of Meowmy’s home, where Momma birthed my sister Velma and me. Unfortunately Momma had ringworm, which she passed onto Velma and me, and it spread to all of the pets and hoomans in the whole house. Since it took months and months for everyone to get clear of the ringworm, Velma and I got a late start getting ready to be adopted.

Now I’m ready to bring my beautiful, tiny, and snuggly self to sprinkle my forever family with joy and laughter. Could that be you? Although we’re available separately, Velma and I think that it’d be the cat’s meow if we were adopted together as a legacy of Scooby Do's Mystery Gang. That way we could be playmates and snuggle buddies while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart!

26. Fei Fei

Young (1 year) · Female · Turkish Van / Calico / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 9/15/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Fei Fei, and I was named after the bright, adventurous girl who builds a homemade rocket ship to travel to the moon in the animated fantasy film “Over the Moon.” Fei Fei is a common Chinese name that translates “very fragrant, luxurious, and beautiful.” I don’t know about “fragrant,” but I do have luxuriously soft white fur like a bunny’s, and I’m obviously beautiful! I’m a sweet, gentle, and poised calico/ Turkish Van mix, which means that I’m mostly white with gray and orange tabby patches on my head and tail. I’m really quite a lovely package, if I do say so myself.

I guess you’re wondering why a perfectly exquisite kitten like me needs to find a home. I did have a loving home that, for the few months of my short life, I shared with my hooman mom and another kitty. Unfortunately, my world was turned upside down when Mom was transferred to a new job in another city, and she could not take me with her. Thank heavens my HOPE foster meowmy stepped up to the plate and agreed to find me a loving new family.

I like Foster Meowmy a lot because she tantalizes me by waving wand toys over my head and then feeding me Churus as a treat afterwards. I’m still adjusting to my new American foster home because Mandarin is no longer spoken, but my ears are getting more attuned to English every day. I’m certainly ready to bring my gentle disposition, graceful daintiness, and soft bunny fur to bless my new forever family. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

Hey there, everyone! I’m Micha, an outgoing, affectionate, and cuddly brown tabby Maine Coon mix gal with a fluffy tail and gorgeous green eyes. My favorite spot is snuggled right next to Foster Meowmy so I can luxuriate while she gently strokes my back and scratches my ears. I’m very friendly and sociable, so I connect quickly with hoomans. If we’ve just met, just give me a minute because it won’t take me long to trust you and seek your affection – and happily reciprocate your love with gentle head nudges and contented purrs. You see, I’m a girl who loves deeply. My heart’s desire is actually very simple -- I want someone to love, and in return, I want someone who will love me back just as much.

My story hasn’t always been easy. Foster Meowmy found my sister Noche and me wandering around an apartment complex as friendly strays when we were only ten months old. Our previous owner had moved away and left us behind, and we were suddenly on our own trying to survive. Despite being abandoned, I never stopped trusting people. From the first day that Foster Meowmy scooped Noche and me up and brought us to the safe haven of her home, she saw something special in my sweet and loving personality – that I’m incredibly grateful for being given a second chance to be safe, loved, cherished, and never abandoned again.

Now I’m ready to fill my forever family’s life with companionship, affection, and plenty of purrs. In return, they need to see what my Foster Meowmy sees — a devoted, loyal, affectionate girl who’s happiest when I can be close to my people, sharing their day and receiving all the love and attention that delights me so much. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! Look into my big green eyes and give me just a minute -- I have a feeling that’s all the time I’ll need to show you all the love in my heart.

28. Nelly &-out

Young (1 year) · Female · Calico / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 6/10/25

Hey there, everyone! I am Nelly, a friendly, affectionate, and outgoing calico gal with gorgeous swirls of bronze and black on my sides, striking green eyes, and a perfect rose-pink nose. What a beautiful package, if I do say so myself! But I am not just eye candy! So siree! I lovingly bestow nose kisses and head nudges as I snuggle in Foster Meowmy’s lap. In return, she scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin, and I exultantly luxuriate in her attention.

Read more about Nelly &-out

I was a six-month-old teenager when I birthed my litter of four kittens in the apartment complex where Foster Meowmy lives. That is what happens when owners do not get their young pets spayed and then dump them outside when they move out of their apartment. Actually, I actively sought Foster Meowmy’s help when I sensed that she loved cats, and it was a literal miracle that she scooped us all up and brought us to the safe haven of her home.

Since I am barely more than a kitten myself, I am saturated with kitten playfulness. You should see me bat jingle-bell balls around the room like a professional soccer striker! Now that I have permanently retired from doting motherhood, I am ready to put my beautiful, dainty face to work giving nose kisses and head nudges to my forever family. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

29. Minnie Moo

Adult (3 years 3 months) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 4/25/23

I am Minnie Moo, a sweet and squeaky black-and-white cow cat with a heart-shaped black nose and the clearest, most wondrous green eyes you will ever see -- condensed into a “minnie” lovable package. I may be a bit shy at first, but once I trust you, I crave gentle affection and close companionship and moo-ve right into your heart. With a moo here and a meow there, I have a way of squeaking joy to ordinary moments. When not chatting with you, I luxuriate in all the pets you can give me and plop down to soak up the attention. Petting me is therapeutic – I can help you unwind and relax after a long day, all while happily purring.

Read more about Minnie Moo

Despite my absolute love for humans, you would never know I had my heart broken and abandoned by them. For nearly a year, an apartment maintenance manager fed and looked after me outside an apartment unit. It turns out that I had once belonged to a family who lived there, who cared enough about me at one point to have me spayed and microchipped. Unfortunately, they left me to fend for myself and fight off unwanted attention from other animals -- both cats and dogs alike. I waited there, day in and day out, hoping they would return to bring me back indoors, where I once felt safe and loved. Thankfully, HOPE volunteers stepped in and rescued me. I found a loving adopter and thought my happily-ever-after had arrived. Sadly, life presented my adopter with difficult challenges, and they made the heartbreaking decision to return me. None of this has been because of anything I did. I have simply been caught in circumstances beyond my control.

Because of my past experiences outdoors, I can be a bit cautious around other animals. But when it comes to people, my affection is infinite. My heart is still full of hope, and I know the third time will be the charm. I dream of a forever home where I can finally settle in, feel secure, and spend my days sharing my tiny squeaks, happy purrs, and gentle companionship. If you are looking for a sweet, low-key cow cat to chat about your day and keep you company, I am ready to write the next -- and best -- chapter of my story with you.

30. Violet

Young (1 year 6 months) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Atascocita

DOB 2/14/25

Hey there, everyone! I’m Violet, a super sweet, very friendly, affectionate, and calm tuxedo gal whom Foster Meowmy calls “an absolute angel.” I’m a cuddle bunny who loves to be held and carried around on her shoulder – and you can’t say that about most cats. I’m in seventh heaven when Foster Meowmy gives me a head massage or scratches my cheeks, chin, and ears. I’m a chatty gal who would give a talkative Siamese a run for her money.

Read more about Violet

When I showed up as a friendly young stray/ abandoned pet at Foster Meowmy’s community-cat feeding station, I had a difficult time because the residents attacked me. They were selfishly trying to limit the size of their colony in order to prevent another hungry mouth from sharing their rations. Well, I got the last laugh because, when Foster Meowmy kept me inside to recover from my spay surgery, she discovered that I was too sweet – and non-aggressive -- to be returned to the outdoors.

I was delighted to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye. No love lost there, for sure! And I fit in beautifully with the resident dog and other cats in my foster home. Although I haven’t been around kids, Foster Meowmy thinks I’d be great since I’m so easygoing and unflappable. Now I’m ready to bring my “angelic” disposition to deliver joy and happiness to my forever family. Could I be just the kitty whom you’ve been looking for? We’d both be the beneficiaries of mutually bestowing love and attention on each other! Arrange to meet me today!

Why adopt an adult cat in Atascocita

An adult cat's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are used to family life.

Grown cats are calmer and need less supervision than kittens, which suits people who work long hours or have young children.
