1. Honor
Kitten (4 months 27 days) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 6/1/26
They say it’s an honor to meet someone special, and I’m here to prove it! I’m Honor, small but mighty, with a curious mind and full of sweetness to make your heart feel truly honored! I’m an affectionate, playful little adventurer who loves climbing cat shelves to survey my kingdom and chasing jingle balls and toys with my sister, Haven, my brother, Happy, and the other cats in my foster home. I may be the smallest of the bunch, but I certainly know how to make a big impression!
Read more about Honor
I’m also a people-loving sweetheart who adores my foster’s 5-year-old human. I love watching him draw and even try my paw at making art of my own! My foster’s Chiweenie pup doesn’t faze me, either. And when my adventures are over, I’ll happily curl up in your arms like a baby, soaking up pets and purring to my and your heart’s content.
My story didn’t start out so happily—I was rescued from an unkind apartment complex where cats like me and my siblings were hurt, and we hid among used tires trying to stay safe. Now I’m ready for a future filled with love, playtime, and cozy cuddles. I’d love a furever home with another furry companion -- like one of my siblings (hint!) -- to share my adventures with, and little humans would be a wonderful bonus!
I’m looking for a family who will encourage my playful adventures, admire my climbing skills, and save plenty of lap space for our cuddle sessions. If you’re looking for a petite package with a big personality, consider this your official invitation! I promise to bring the fun, the sweetness, and all the purrs your heart can handle. It would be my honor to be your newest family member—and your forever little sidekick!
HOPE ID 26-0801-A057
Honor’s $125 adoption fee includes spay/neuter, basic vaccines, microchip and registration, testing for FIV/FeLV, negative fecal test, and preventative treatment against fleas and parasites.

2. Haven
Kitten (4 months 27 days) · Female · Tuxedo / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 6/1/26
Looking for a little haven of happiness? You’ve found her! I’m Haven, a sweet grey-and-white tuxedo girl who’s ready to charm my way into your heart, one belly rub at a time. I may be a little shy when we first meet, but give me a bit of time to feel safe, and you’ll soon see my curious, playful side shine through. Once I’m comfortable, I love exploring my surroundings and showing off my signature move: flopping onto my back to offer up my soft belly in hopes of scoring some gentle rubs. Go ahead, give me a few, and I’ll reward you with endless, contented purrs. Before you know it, you’ll be feeling right at home with me!
Read more about Haven
I’m a gentle soul who gets along well with my foster family’s little Chiweenie, their 5-year-old son, and the senior kitties in the house. I especially love playing with my brother, Happy, and my sister, Honor. We chase, tumble, and wrestle together like the silly kittens we are. My story didn’t start out quite so happy. I was rescued from an unkind apartment where cats and kittens like me and my siblings were hurt. We hid and tumbled around among used tires, trying to find safety.
Now I’m searching for a special place to call my own—a true Haven where I can feel safe, loved, and free to let my personality blossom. I’m hoping for a family who’ll spoil me with snuggles, belly rubs, and plenty of playtime. I might need a little patience at first, but once I settle in, I’ll be ready to fill your home with purrs and affection.
If your home could use a little more love and a whole lot of purrs, I might just be your purr-fect Haven! And if you happen to fall for my siblings, too, Happy and Honor would make wonderful additions to the family. Why settle for one little blessing when you could have a whole haven of happiness?
HOPE ID 26-0801-A058

4. Chez
Young (2 years 7 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 3/17/24
Hey there, everyone! I’m Chez, a sweet, gentle “bicolor” gal, which means that I’m mostly brown tabby on the top part of my body and mostly white on my legs and tummy. It’s said that the eyes are the window of the soul, and once you gaze into my eyes, which look like large, green globes, you immediately see my innocence, kindness, and tenderness. I’m quite a purr baby, and sometimes Foster Meowmy has to turn up the TV because my purr motor sounds like an outboard motor.
Read more about Chez
I was adopted as a kitten to a home where I was deeply cherished by my person, but unfortunately, I’m looking for a new home through no fault of my own. My owner tearfully surrendered both me and my kitty friend Keegan back to HOPE because she had to move in as the caretaker for her mom, who has immune-compromised issues, but the apartment management did not allow cats. What a bummer – because I was so happy and contented in what I thought was my forever home. Although I really miss my hooman as well as my playmate Keegan, I’m enjoying my quiet, loving foster home where Foster Meowmy has welcomed me with open arms.
Now I’m ready to bring my sweet, gentle spirit to grace my second – and this time forever – home. Could that be you? It would be the cat’s meow if there were another kitty to be my playmate, although I’m fine being a solo kitty. I never hiss, scratch, or bite, so I’d probably be great around kids, although there were no kids in my other home. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

8. Rawl
Kitten (2 months 10 days) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 8/11/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Rawl, a friendly, affectionate, and playful pastel grey tabby fella who loves being handled and petted. I guess you’d call me a Velcro kitten because I adore being close to my beloved Foster Meowmy. I luxuriate when she scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears while I cuddle contentedly in her lap, and I sleep nestled next to her at night. If she decides to shut her bedroom door, I’ll mew on the other side to wake her up and remind her it’s breakfast time!
Read more about Rawl
A neighbor of my Foster Meowmy’s mom found me as a four-week-old orphan with no momma or siblings in sight. Of course Foster Meowmy hurried over to scoop me up, welcome me with open arms, and give me a safe haven in her home. I was delighted to find a whole surrogate family of resident cats to teach me all the manners I needed to learn since Momma was not around. My best friend is a teenage foster kitty named Astro, and we play and snuggle together like siblings. Plus the kids in my foster home keep me entertained by our interactive play with wand toys. I’m rather addicted to the Churus that all my foster hooman family offers to me!
Now I’m ready to enchant everyone with my innocent face as well as deliver love and laughter to all of my forever family, including their cats -- and maybe even their cat-friendly dogs. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me today, and I promise that we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the instant we meet.

21. Julia
Senior (10 years 7 months) · Female · Torbie / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 3/3/16
Hey there, everyone! I’m Julia, an affectionate, cuddly, and laid-back “torbie” gal, which means that I’m mostly brown tabby with patches of orange that look like I’ve been sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory. I also have a white chin and one white toe! My big, green-globe eyes are truly “the window to my soul” because they convey my calm, innocent, and relaxed disposition. I love people of all ages and quickly turn on my rumbling purr motor to communicate my ecstasy when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin or ears as I cuddle in her lap.
Read more about Julia
A nice elderly gentleman adopted me from HOPE when I was a year old, and we lived blissfully together as devoted companions for nine years. Unfortunately he passed away, but his personal caregiver scooped me up and brought me to her apartment to join her active household with kids, two dogs, and a rabbit. I thrived there because I’m so easygoing and handle change so easily. However, after four months together, I lost my second home because they had to move to an apartment with a “no pets” policy. Again, I was homeless, but thank heavens HOPE always takes their cats back, and Foster Meowmy graciously stepped up to give me a place for my spirit to shine brightly as I wait patiently for my forever-and-ever home. Meanwhile, I get along with the other resident and foster kitties as I relax on the cat tree and snooze on the sofa.
Now I’m ready to display my excellent companion skills and flexible adaptability as I become the newest member of my third and final home. I’m a brave girl to trust that “the third time is the charm” for me to leave my fragrant legacy of love. All I ask is a peaceful, slow-paced life where warmth and rapport are exchanged between us. Incidentally, the vet gave me a clean bill of health at my check-up, and adopting a kitty like me who’s past the stage of kitten and juvenile mayhem has its advantages because I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

23. Tic Tac
Young (11 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 10/25/25
Hey there, everyone! I’m Tic Tac, a petite kitty with a not-at-all-petite personality, the cutest little blep (when my tongue-tip peeks out), and a purr motor WAY too big for my kitten-sized body! I’m basically a tiny mint with a whole lot of fizz and absolutely no idea how to contain my newfound joy.
Read more about Tic Tac
Sometimes I’m so happy to see you that I come charging over to rub and bump all over you, then roll, wiggle, and flip around for pets. Other times, I squirm so much you might wonder if I’m even interested in cuddles! But give me a little patience, and I might just melt into your arms or lap, purring loud enough to make you forget just how petite I am. And if I reach a paw toward your face, you're in for the sweetest little nose bops, complete with my signature blep and the most blissed-out expression you've ever seen.
I’m still learning how to be a proper little lovebug. I like to playfully bat at you with my paws, and sometimes I get carried away with a little nibble. I’m working on my manners, though! I’ve got lots of love and a streak of mischief packed into this petite package. Consider me a work-in-mint-progress!
You see, I had to grow up a little too fast. I was rescued from an apartment complex where cats were being harmed, and while I was still a kitten myself, I became a momma to four little ones, who are about my size now. Thankfully, a kind tenant gave us shelter on an enclosed patio.
Now my babies are growing up, and it’s finally my turn to be the baby! I’m ready to trade surviving for snuggling and motherhood for being pampered. I might need a little patience while I figure out this whole spoiled-house-cat thing, but I’ve already got the blep, the booming purr, and the enthusiastic cuddle attacks you’re sure to love.
So, are you ready for a little mint-sized mayhem who may need a fellow cautious heart? I’ll freshen up your life with my devoted little heart, enthusiastic affection, and plenty of bleppy kisses!

24. Penny
Young (2 years 5 months) · Female · Torbie / Tabby / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 5/1/24
Meow! I’m Penny, a striking torbie girl with a coat that shines like a copper penny. My beautiful, rich coloring and swirling classic-tabby markings are eye-catching, but don’t let my pretty looks distract you from the fact that my purrsonality and value are priceless. They say finding a penny is lucky. But if you happen to find me, I’d say you’re the lucky one.
Read more about Penny
I’m a social butterfly who likes to make my presence known. I’ll meow here and there to let you know I’m ready for some attention, and once I have it, my sass is apparent. I love affection, playtime, and being part of whatever you’re doing. I enjoy being held and cuddled, and I’m also fond of nose kisses and nose licks—until I’ve decided I’ve had enough. Then I’ll keep you on your toes with a playful little love bite, followed by a love lick or two. It’s my way of saying, “Penny for your thoughts?”
And perhaps the most remarkable thing about me is that, despite my past, I still choose to trust people. Sadly I was rescued from an apartment complex where tenants cruelly harmed cats, yet I remained my wonderfully bossy, affectionate, and curious self—and eager to connect with people. Maybe I really am a lucky penny. Somehow, I found my way out and into a better life and possibly with you.
I’m curious and intelligent. I may not have thumbs, but I’ve learned how to open cabinets. Naturally, I have to investigate and see if there’s any buried treasure waiting to be discovered. I hang out with my foster cat siblings and would be perfectly happy being adopted into a home with other cats. But if I’m being honest, I tend to prefer the company of people and my own dreamy thoughts.
By the way, I tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+), which I probably contracted from the deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) FIV+ is very manageable, and I should live a normal life span with proper care.
So if you’re looking for a beautiful, clever, playful companion who will keep you entertained and fill your home with fun and warmth, you don’t need to toss a penny into a fountain and make a wish. You just need to adopt me—because I’m one lucky penny you’ll want to keep.

25. Nori
Young (1 year 2 months) · Female · Bombay / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 7/23/25
Hey there, everyone! I’m Nori, a sleek, velvety-soft black cat bursting with umami goodness. I’m the purrfect sushi roll: sweet lap cat, gentle nose-kisser, easygoing and intelligent cuddler. I even look like I’m smiling, as if I know a little funny secret. Basically, I’m the good-for-you kind of snack —high in nutrients for the soul, low in calories and chaos, and 100% affection that’s somehow impossible not to crave.
Read more about Nori
I’m a loving little shadow without being overly needy. I’ll rub against your legs, lounge nearby, curl up beside you, or simply keep you company while you go about your day. I’m a lap cat who loves being held and cuddled, and I’ll reward you with the most soothing, low little purr. I’m the kind of companion who adds a little extra flavor to everyday life without ever overwhelming the dish.
Wherever you go, I’m likely to follow—not because I need constant attention, but because I’m curious and believe someone has to keep tabs on things. Close a door without inviting me in? You may see the cutest, most desperate little paw reaching underneath it. Bathroom time? I consider that an invitation to climb onto your lap. Sitting on the couch? Obviously, that’s an invitation for me to flop beside you or curl up against you.
Of course, even the sweetest snack has a salty side. Don’t let my innocent face fool you—I can orchestrate a little chaos. One of my favorite games is tapping a roll of paper towels onto the floor for my foster cat siblings, who lack my “manners” and happily shred it into tiny pieces. Me? I simply supervise from nearby. Someone has to manage the operation.
I’m social, gentle, and laid-back, so it’s no surprise that I get along well with other cats and kids. I’ll happily greet strangers, but my loyal heart is reserved for the people I know and love. And given my background, that trust is especially remarkable. I was rescued from an apartment complex where cats were sadly not treated kindly. The other cats and I endured frightening and harmful treatment. Despite what I experienced, I never lost my trust in people. I remained affectionate, gentle, and trusting.
I’m comfort food in cat form: warm, soothing, and best enjoyed curled up beside you, wrapped in the softest fur, with my quiet, low-base purr humming away. I’m good for the soul—and I’m ready to be savored, cherished, and loved. So if you’re looking for easy sweetness, a little salt, a whole lot of umami, and limitless companionship to add the perfect flavor to your home, I might just be the ingredient you’ve been looking for.

Read more about Comet
Hey there, everyone! I’m Comet, a friendly, affectionate, and cuddly “bicolor” fella, which means that I’m red tabby on my top half with soft white bunny fur on my lower half. With the swashes of white spilling around my eyes and nose, I’m a handsome, uniquely marked boy whose face shows off a range of emotions. Although I enjoy snuggling with Foster Meowmy, I also love engaging with her interactively when she waves the turkey flyer wand toy over my head. Man-oh-man – when I see it flying through the air, I’m on the alert and ready for action. And she also endears herself to me by letting me polish off a tube of Churus after I’m all tuckered out from playtime.
My brother Rocket and I were abandoned by our owner at a vet’s office in southwest Houston when we were about five months old. Thank heavens the vet has a good relationship with our foster meowmy, and she agreed to find us a forever home the second time around. Although Rocket and I are best buddies and love hanging out together, we like the same things – the wand toy as well as Churus – so there’s always a little competition in who gets there first.
Now I’m ready to cuddle with my forever family – whenever I’m not flipping around as the turkey flyer sails through the air. Arrange to meet me today! I promise that we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the instant that we meet. Although we’re available separately, wouldn’t you love to adopt a handsome pair of red tabby brothers? Rocket and I could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation.

Kitten (6 months) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 4/1/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Rocket, a friendly, affectionate, and cuddly red tabby fella who’s known for my curiosity and investigative prowess. I’ve figured out that the cat tree is a great staging area for me to jump into the middle of the action. Maybe I want to get better positioned for stabbing at the turkey flyer wand toy. Maybe I want to get first in line for Churu treats.

28. Penelope
Adult (6 years 10 months) · Female · Maine Coon / Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat)

DOB 12/3/19
Hey there, everyone! I'm Penelope, a beautiful, sweet, fluffy medium-haired girl with bright green eyes, a little mirth in my expression, and just enough sass to make sure you know I’m not just another ordinary beauty. I’m laid-back and independent, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love affection — or that I lack a purrsonality! I don’t necessarily need to be the center of attention. I’m perfectly happy doing my own thing and observing the world around me. But when you’re fabulously fluffy, attention tends to find its way to you anyway.
Read more about Penelope
I have quite a few opinions, and I’m not afraid to share them. I’ll let you know where you stand with me — sometimes vocally, sometimes by flopping over in all my fluffy glory, hoping to sucker you into giving me just a few more pets, please. I don’t mind being picked up and cuddled, either. When I’m in your arms, I’ll put my fluffy mitts on you and hold on for a hug.
I’m named after Penelope from The Odyssey — the woman who waited for Odysseus to come home to Ithaca after being away on his agonizingly long journey. And I understand waiting. I understand journeys. I was rescued near a bus stop — where journeys begin and end. I survived outdoors, despite having once known the comforts of being loved indoors. Now, I’m waiting for the part of my story where I finally get to go home.

29. Cheetoh
Kitten (5 months 6 days) · Male · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 5/1/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Cheetoh, a big, brawny red tabby fella whose nickname around my foster home is “Tucker Brown” because I’m such a big boy! I already weigh twice as much as my baby sister Charlee. I’m curious about everything and afraid of nothing. I have one speed -- FAST!
Read more about Cheetoh
I overheard Foster Meowmy tell someone, “Cheetoh is a crazy, hot mess,” but almost in the next breath, she confessed, “I’ve never had an orange kitty before, but Cheetoh is super special.” She likes it that I’m her very best early-morning and bedtime snuggle buddy. Although I’m VERY vocal all the time, I have a sweet little voice that doesn’t match my swagger.
My feral momma birthed my litter of four in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood. When my siblings and I were six weeks old and ready to be weaned, Meowmy trapped/ spayed, and released Momma and brought us kittens inside to socialize us for adoption. I fit beautifully into the dynamics of the resident pet household because Meowmy’s cat Dootie as well as her two big, black dogs fell in love with me. (Who wouldn’t?) I tumble and pounce, chase and wrestle with my siblings, and when we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle
Now I’m ready to zoom around my forever home in my active moments and then chat about the day as well as snuggle with my forever family in my quieter moments. Could that be you? Arrange to meet me! I promise that we’ll fall head over paws in love with each other the instant that we meet! Although we’re available separately, Charlee and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we were adopted together so that we could be playmates and cuddle buddies while you’re at work or on vacation.

30. Charlee
Kitten (5 months 4 days) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

DOB 5/1/26
Hey there, everyone! I’m Charlee, a sweet, petite, calm, and quiet “bicolor” gal, which means that the top half of my body is orange tabby and the bottom is plush white like a bunny’s fur. I adore my Foster Meowmy because she lets me snuggle with her at bedtime and she feeds me delicious Churu squeezable treats. Also when I sit on my cat-tree perch, she throws toys at me to catch. The cat tree is strategically situated by a window so that I can watch my personal kitty TV -- the birds flying, the lizards scooting and the squirrels scampering by.

Adopting a cat in Waller County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
