1. Michka
Adult (4 years 4 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 73 mi from Burlington

Michka is a magnificent, big, all-black male cat with a serious look but a heart full of sweetness! Behind his tough-guy appearance is an adorable teddy bear who simply wants to be loved. He adores people and absolutely loves being petted.
Found as a stray in Saint-Michel with a limp, Michka was lucky enough to cross paths with a kind volunteer who cared for him while waiting for a spot to become available at the shelter. Since arriving, Michka has received the care he needed to get back on his paws and regain his strength.
Michka is an easygoing cat who strikes a lovely balance between energetic playtime and relaxing moments. He loves running and jumping after his toys just as much as he enjoys turning into an adorable lap cat for your movie nights. Whether you feel like playing with him or simply curling up comfortably on the couch, Michka will happily find his place by your side.
When Michka first arrived, he had a bit of a tendency to nip. Thankfully, he has improved! He could live with children, provided they are old enough to understand that a cat’s space and wishes must be respected.
Living with other cats could also be possible, as long as they are friendly felines and introductions are done gradually. That said, Michka isn’t particularly interested in the company of other cats. He would be perfectly happy being the king of his own castle and enjoying all the attention from his humans!

2. Midnight
Kitten · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 63 mi from Burlington

Midnight and Eclipse are a 5-month-old bonded brother/sister pair. We will only adopt them out together. These two beautiful black kittens where brought to the shelter by a Good Samaritan when their mother was killed by the side of the road, leaving the kittens behind. Their foster mom described them: "Midnight starts purring the moment you pick him up. They both like to climb, the higher the better. They are big helpers; they help me make the bed, fold the laundry, work on the computer. In the evening, when it's time to feed them, I call, 'Where are my babies?', and they come running for their food and stand on their back legs.

Whatever room I'm in the house, they're right there with me.Midnight is a caretaker cat; my friend was in the hospital and was still very weak when he came home . He spent a lot of time on the couch with Midnight right beside him, often for hours. They are both very entertaining kittens. They are easy going cats and are a delight to have around." Since the kittens have been at the shelter we have found them to be curious, playful and just wonderful companions. As part of our regular intake routine, both kittens received medical assessments by our clinic veterinarian when they first came to the shelter. At that time, it was discovered that Midnight, the male kitten, has a congenital heart disease that unfortunately is not treatable. As a result, Midnight may have a shortened life span. It is hard to predict his life expectancy, but currently he is doing great, his energy is good, he is gaining weight and he has no idea he is sick, playing and running around as happily as his sister Eclipse. Our veterinarian shares that play and exercise are good for Midnight as he should maintain a healthy weight, and that he should be seen by a vet twice a year for monitoring. And the more love he receives the better! As a result of these unique circumstances, this bonded brother/sister pair are looking for a special adopter with a big heart, who will give them a loving home together and love them just as they are. You can visit these cats at Kingdom Animal Shelter during open hours on Saturdays from noon to 3pm. Please note that Kingdom Animal Shelter is not a "same day" adoption shelter. 6. Ollie
Young (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Medium Hair (medium coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Ollie arrived at Réseau Secours Animal (RSA) in the autumn of 2025, just before the cold weather set in. His mother, Java, arrived later, but unfortunately, they didn’t recognize each other. Although Ollie gets along with all the other cats in the house, he used to clash with Java.
Ollie is a fluffy little guy. He has a somewhat majestic air about him, even though he still has a kitten-like face. He is timid and required socialization. This takes patience—and in Ollie’s case, playtime. Ollie has learned to trust and is starting to enjoy cuddles.
Ollie isn’t aggressive, but since he is still young and loves to play, he can be a bit clumsy with his paws. He really enjoys playing with us when we use a wand toy. He also likes playing with our feet under the covers; when we make the bed in the morning, he watches every movement of the blankets, ready to pounce.
Ollie really enjoys treats. He loves the creamy treats that help with his socialization. Ollie likes being up high. He enjoys the cat tree and climbing onto dressers to get a better view of what’s happening below. When we speak to him, he watches us closely, full of curiosity. He tends to wait for us to make the first move to play.
Ollie needs a quiet home without young children. It took several weeks to socialize him, and he will likely remain shy. A calm family with another young cat would be ideal for him.

7. Zion
Adult (1 year 10 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 73 mi from Burlington

Zion is an absolutely lovable young cat of nearly 2 years old, who was brought to us by a veterinary clinic after being abandoned because his family couldn't afford his surgery. Our handsome boy had indeed swallowed a piece of plastic — proof that some cats really do nibble on more than others! Zion was unlucky: the object put his life in real danger, but thankfully, quick intervention saved him. His future family will need to stay vigilant and avoid leaving small objects like Legos or elastic bands within his reach.
But Zion himself has already put that mishap behind him! He's living life to the fullest at the shelter, in the Bobo room with the calm little ones. He always claims his spot during play sessions and is invariably the first to greet us at the window. He loves telling us all about his day and hopes we'll return the favor. He could easily thrive in a family with young children, as long as toys are kept off the floor. Present and cuddly, he loves petting and is so affectionate and funny that the whole family will quickly fall under his spell. He could also do well living alongside a canine companion.

8. Nesta
Young (1 year 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Nesta is an active, affectionate, curious, and sociable young female cat. She will play with a wand toy for as long as you have the energy to run around with her. She loves people and will come up to rub against anyone new she meets, purring all the while. She is also talkative, with a sweet, charming meow that will follow you around the house. She may nip a little when overexcited, but never to hurt—using neither teeth nor claws. She also allows herself to be picked up when necessary, such as for moving her or trimming her claws.
Nesta would be a great fit for an active family that can play with her and spend plenty of time with her, in a home without other pets. However, her sociable nature makes her compatible with children who are old enough to understand basic cat behavior.

9. Savannah
Adult · Female · Domestic Long Hair · 63 mi from Burlington

Savannah is a beautiful 5-year-old, fluffy dilute calico. Savannah is very sweet, loves people and the minute you enter her room she starts purring loudly, rubbing against you for attention and petting. She came upon hard times when her owner passed away, and she found herself outside lost in a field during the winter. Due to being outside, her long beautiful fur was matted, and she needed a good shave and medical attention. The clinic vet discovered she had chronic polyps in her ears and recommends an adopter should get her used to just allowing petting and general touch around her head and ears, so she can become more comfortable with touch around her ear area.
Read more about Savannah
Savannah doesn't mind normal petting around her head and ears, if she doesn't feel she's being held too tightly or being examined. For this reason, it would be best that Savannah go to an adult home or a home with older children who can approach her gently and be mindful of her touching needs. It is also recommended that an adopter work with their regular veterinarian on a plan to monitor and treat the ears when needed. Other than her ear sensitivity, Savannah is loving, enjoys when people come to spend time with her, weaving around their legs and asking for gentle petting. She enjoys scratches under her chin and on her cheeks and basking in the sun on a good window spot to watch outside. Savannah is afraid of other cats and dogs, and needs to be the only pet in her home. You can visit Savannah at Kingdom Animal Shelter during open hours on Saturdays from noon to 3pm. 12. Domino
Adult (6 years 8 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 73 mi from Burlington

Domino is a handsome brown tabby with a white belly, 6 and a half years old. He spent several months living on the street, where he was fortunate enough to be fed faithfully by a kind person who unfortunately wasn't able to take him in under her own roof. It's now up to us to find him the family he deserves.
Confident, always in a good mood, and ready to play, Domino definitely takes up his fair share of space — and we love him for it! He acts like a young cat in the prime of life, as if he were reliving his best kitten years. This overflowing energy comes with a small tendency to nip at fingers during play. Nothing to worry about: there are several ways to redirect this enthusiasm, notably through predatory play sessions using toys that create distance between his teeth and your hands, letting him fully burn off that energy.
Domino could do very well living as the sole king of the house, enjoying all the attention just for himself. But he could just as easily thrive in a home where another friendly cat already lives, one a little less rambunctious and used to the presence of a feline companion. At the shelter, Domino loves it when his friend Léo grooms him!
Domino is an adult cat, and his adoption fee is $310$. He is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped. He tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) but negative for Feline Leukemia (FeLV). Although he carries FIV, the risk of transmitting the virus to another cat is very low. He is in good health and can still live a long and happy life. For more information about FIV:

Read more about Momo

Momo is a ginger-and-white male, approximately 5 years old. He is an energetic, affectionate, and playful cat.
I rescued Momo from the alleyway, where he had been a stray until May 2026. I cared for him and had him neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. Unfortunately, he is FIV-positive, as is the case with many cats found as strays.
Since May, I have worked hard to help him adjust to indoor life, as he can no longer go outside due to his FIV status. Over time, he has become a wonderful companion cat.
He loves sleeping at the foot of the bed with his human and sleeps through the night. It would be best for him to be adopted as an only cat to prevent the transmission of FIV.
One downside: he is obsessed with food and is constantly on the lookout for snacks left on the counters.
A plus: he has so much love to give and will entertain his future family with his mischievous and playful antics.

Adult (5 years 4 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair · 73 mi from Burlington

Mulan is a sweet young black cat, a little over 5 years old. She arrived at the shelter recently, as her family was unfortunately no longer able to provide her with the best environment possible. She was entrusted to us in the hope that she could find a new home quickly.
Once she feels comfortable, Mulan reveals herself to be a charming little companion. She loves human contact and doesn't need to be asked twice to come see you: she enjoys following her humans through their daily routine and chatting them up along the way. And guess who'll be waiting for you when you get home from work, ready to pick the conversation back up right where you left it that morning?
She also has her own little pleasures in life: cat treats drive her absolutely wild, and nothing makes her happier than a long, well-deserved nap in the sun, with a warm belly and a peaceful mind. Mulan also has quite the little personality of her own, a funny "grumpy old lady" kind of temperament that makes her all the more endearing. She won't hesitate to let you know when she's not happy, with plenty of grumbly growls, but nothing ever truly mean: it's simply her own way of expressing herself, and it's all part of her charm.
At the shelter, Mulan unfortunately can't show her full potential, since she has to share a large room with other cats even though she doesn't particularly enj

Kitten (4 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Croxhî, a tall, young white-and-tabby shorthair male, comes from a lovely litter of six kittens found on the street with their mother. Since arriving at his foster home with his siblings, he has proven to be the most energetic, playful, affectionate, and sociable of the bunch. His love of food also makes it easier for him to meet new people.
This young cat needs attention and will appreciate someone who has time and energy to devote to him. If you don't respond to his calls, he won't hesitate to meow and might even go so far as to lick your feet!
Croxhî gets along very well with other cats and would be happy in a home whether other cats are present or not. He should also do well living with children, as he isn't easily spooked by noise or movement. That said, like any young cat, he still needs his nap times respected.
As he is a kitten, the adoption fee for Croxhî is $350. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has not been tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) or Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) but the mother's test is negative.
Health insurances are offered for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the help of the adoption team as long as you need it. 16. Frodon
Adult (1 year 8 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 73 mi from Burlington

Frodon is a gorgeous one-and-a-half-year-old male with a brown-and-orange tabby coat and gentle green eyes. Rescued in LaSalle with an injured paw, a good Samaritan brought him to us so we could treat him and care for him. Behind his delicate appearance lies a brave and resilient cat. Although he arrived at the shelter terrified, he quickly gained confidence: he now comes up to us on his own and happily accepts pets.
His biggest weakness is his love for treats! The mere scent of a goodie is enough to make him forget his shyness, making it very easy to bond with him. The volunteers who have spent time with him also discovered a very playful cat, which is a great way to build a connection. Around other cats, Frodon is gentle and polite: he quietly stays in his corner and waits for his turn without starting any trouble. He could live with another calm cat who tolerates feline companions, but he would also do wonderfully as the only king of the house.
Frodon will need a calm and stable home, ideally without young children, with a patient family who will respect his pace. An adjustment period is to be expected at first, starting in a quiet acclimation room where he can build up his courage. With a little gentleness and a few strategic treats, he will feel comfortable in no time. Our team will also be available to guide you through his integration every step of the way!
Frodon was recently switched to a urinary diet. Although he has never experienced a urinary blockage, he is prone to developing urinary

Adult (2 years 5 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Now almost two and a half years old, he is finally ready for his chance with a patient, loving, and enriching family who will give him the time, kindness, and environment he needs to truly thrive.
Pastis’s trust has been built gradually over many months, mainly through play, treats, and a gentle, respectful approach. Today, he accepts being petted along his back and seems to enjoy it more and more. He is also much less shy around people. However, he remains a reserved cat, especially around strangers, so it will be important to continue respecting his pace. A good adjustment period should therefore be expected when he first arrives in his new home. To help him feel safe and secure, we recommend starting him off in a quiet acclimation room equipped with elevated spaces, hiding spots, and cozy areas where he can retreat and observe his new surroundings at his own pace. With patience and an environment suited to his needs, we are confident that Pastis will continue to make wonderful

Adult (5 years 3 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Read more about Piccolo

Piccolo, this tiny 2.5 kg girl who is small but mighty!
This little black-and-white furry creature has just turned 5, and she has already been through quite a lot. A small notch in her ear indicates that she was likely trapped, spayed, and then released. A kind person entrusted her to us after finding her as a stray in Boucherville.
When Piccolo arrived, she was in pretty rough shape: extremely underweight and suffering from mouth pain. It was clear that she needed help. Since then, Piccolo has been treated for conjunctivitis in both eyes. The only thing she has left to take care of is her dental treatment, as her mouth is in pretty bad shape. The shelter will cover the cost of this procedure. However, her adopter will need to commit to bringing Piccolo to our veterinarian in Anjou the day before her appointment.
Despite everything she has been through, Piccolo is a true little bundle of energy! She is very playful, loves attention, and is curious about everything around her. She can be nervous around loud noises and sudden movements, but with a little patience, she eventually relaxes into cuddles and scratches, showing off the sweetest little satisfied face. She doesn’t seem interested in being held right now. With time, love, and trust, she may slowly open up to it

How could anyone not fall in love with Tropicana’s sweet little face?
This beautiful cat, just over a year old, with the looks of an old teddy bear and a raspy little voice, was found as a stray in Laval. Since November, a kind person had been feeding him and looking after him, helping him survive until May of this year. Concerned for his well-being and seeing the potential for a wonderful companion in him, she entrusted him to us.
Tropicana is an especially funny and affectionate cat. He loves getting our attention and receiving cuddles. He chats with his scratchy little voice and may even give you a few little nips when he’s had enough contact… or when you’re not quite doing your job properly! Ideally, Tropicana would be the only cat in the home, but living with an independent cat could also be an option. We also believe he could live with children who are old enough to understand and respect his boundaries. Tropicana loves to play, observe the world from up high, and keep you company during movie nights. Well… he’ll just have to have a say in which movie you watch!

Simba - He is extremely affectionate and loves “making biscuits”. If you’re sitting in front of a tv he loves to just sit by you and loves being pet.
He is extremely playful and plays with pretty much any toy, with the exception of something motorized, he doesn’t like the sound too much.
Zara - Her litter was abandoned on the side of the road, she was a little timid at first however she really grew into being affectionate and trusting. She loves being held like a baby and is extremely playful, she really has that “hunter” like vibe when playing.
They are both extremely affectionate, playful, sweet and vocal. Zara it may take just a little more time to adjust to a new environment (I’m assuming).
I also want to point out they are indoor cats, I do not let them out. They are curious of the outdoors but will not cry or beg to go out. If I do let them out (which is extremely rare) it’s on the balcony and I watch them.
The best match for both cats would probably be a calm like environment, especially if they will be in a new environment, with someone who can give them attention and affection.
As I mentioned, I know it is difficult for some to take on 2 cats however I really can’t stress enough that t

My name is Minoushka; I am 15 years old and looking for a new family that will give me plenty of affection and kibble.
I can be a bit shy at first, but once I trust you, I love company and cuddles. I enjoy lounging in the backyard when the weather is nice—though certainly not in winter. I am not declawed, I am microchipped and have had annual vet check-ups to stay healthy.
I am sad to be leaving my current home, but the family's new baby is allergic, so I need to find a new place to live.

26. Minimousse
Adult (3 years 10 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Minimousse arrived at the shelter in April 2026. This beautiful 4-year-old tabby male was found as a stray, without a microchip, after likely spending a long time outdoors. When he arrived, his coat was dirty and he had several small scabs and wounds on his body, signs of a difficult life and many encounters with other cats. Despite his challenging past, Minimousse has shown an incredible ability to trust and is truly a sweetheart with people. He will love being part of your daily life — he is a real little shadow who enjoys being close to his humans. Playtime and mental stimulation will help him stay active, maintain good habits, and satisfy his natural hunting instincts.
Minimousse is now looking for a family ready to give him a second chance. Let’s be honest: FIV-positive male cats are often some of the most wonderful companions, known for being affectionate and loving. Yes, Minimousse is FIV-positive, but this does not prevent him from being healthy, living a long and happy life, and enjoying every day to the fullest. FIV is mainly transmitted through deep bite wounds during fights. Since Minimousse is now neutered, will live exclu

27. Annette
Adult (3 years 6 months) · Female · Domestic Long Hair (long coat) · 73 mi from Burlington

Annette is a beautiful orange and white cat just over three years old. With her stunning long, soft, silky coat, curious eyes, and love of food, she quickly wins people over. Playful, inquisitive, and full of personality, she enjoys exploring her surroundings and quickly claims her favourite spots, whether it's a sunny windowsill, a cozy cushion in the middle of the living room, or even the back of a closet. Annette is an independent cat who appreciates having her space respected. She isn't particularly fond of being handled, but she'll happily come over for attention when she's in the mood—especially at mealtime, which she greets with great enthusiasm! She enjoys gentle pets on her head and neck but would rather you avoid touching her lower back.

Mon Ami and Maxine are 1-yeaer-old siblings who are looking for a loving home together. We will only adopt them out as a pair. Mon Ami is a lively, affectionate boy who cheerfully asks his visitors for as much attention as he can get. His sister Maxine is a lovely, silky girl who likes to sit on a lap and be petted and stroked. They were rescued as young kittens from a feral cat colony in a neighboring town, and were socialized in a foster home before coming to the shelter. These beautiful kitties like to sit in windows to watch birds, they love to play with wand toys, and be cuddled by their humans.

Fleur is a young Highland Lynx point kitten of 14 weeks. She was born without a tail and is strongly suspected of having severe Manx syndrome. She suffers from urinary incontinence, significant constipation that requires regular assistance, and may also have neurological impairment.
Despite all the care we provide and her ongoing veterinary follow-up, we fear that her needs may eventually exceed what we are able to offer in the medium and long term.
Fleur is full of life. She runs everywhere and makes us laugh every single day. On her own, she discovered that an empty cardboard box could become a suit of armor—she slipped underneath it and confidently walked past our other cat, who doesn't tolerate her very well. She also loves watching television and is genuinely engaged by what's happening on the screen. She adores being held, almost always sleeps beside us, and has the sweetest purr. She also does the occasional somersault—sometimes unintentionally—but it's always quite the show!
Making this decision is incredibly difficult because we have become deeply attached to Fleur. Our only wish is for her to receive the very best care possible and to live in a home where her disability will be understood and managed with the attention it deserves.
This message comes straight from our hearts—no AI involved.

Adopting a cat in Burlington
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
