2. Sabrina
Young (2 years 1 month) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Sabrina is exactly like a homemade cookie or favorite blanket - warm, soft and comforting. Curious and intelligent, cozy and quiet, she learns routines quickly and loves to observe everything you do. Sabrina would love to be your only pet or share the space with a calm, respectful cat after a slow and intentional introduction (she is friendly with other cats and tends to avoid conflict, but I always recommend Jackson Galaxy's method for proper introductions). Her ideal home? Quiet and full of cozy spaces- especially by the window. Sabrina is shy but sweet and is the kind of cat who will come running to greet you at the door and jump on the couch to binge watch with you for a good cuddle and peaceful vibes.

If you’re looking for a low-key feline friend Sabrina may just be your perfect match. Sabrina is easily one of the most well-behaved cats I've ever had the pleasure of fostering, and I hope someone just as special takes a chance on her because she is soul cat material - the kind of cat that makes people who don't like cats change their minds. To meet this young lady, please email her foster mom at: eovasquez18@gmail.com. Adoption is only $50 and includes her spay surgery, initial vaccines, rabies, microchip and FELV/FIV testing.

Bubba (also known as Bubba Ganoush or Bubba Baby) is a playful and fun cat! He loves to be near his people all day. If he’s not sitting on your lap, he’s perched on a cat tower or laying on the couch near you. Bubba was rescued as a stray and he adapted to house cat life so quickly. He plays well with other cats and has learned appropriate cat behavior from his cat foster siblings. It seems the only habit he’s held on to from street cat life is some food anxiety. Jack is a sweet, loving six-month-old kitten whose favorite place to sleep is curled up beside you. Playful and friendly, he gets along beautifully with dogs, other cats, and even rabbits!

With plenty of love and care, he has grown into a healthy five-pound sweetheart, and both of his siblings have found their forever homes.

22. Zoe
Adult (12 years) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Zoe, the biggest and most gorgeous kitty ever!
Read more about Zoe
Eyes popped when Zoe arrived at Orange County Animal Shelter back in May: we couldn't believe that she weighed a whopping 23 lbs...that's more than double the weight of a healthy adult cat! Poor Zoe was surrendered by her owners of twelve years, because she did not approve of the new baby in the house. At the shelter, she was understandably stressed and was lashing out. No one could even touch her, and even approaching her cage made Zoe hiss and swat. Then, she came down with an upper respiratory infection (a kitty cold), which only added to her misery. We knew she wouldn't improve in the shelter environment, so Zoe came to foster care to recover emotionally from losing her home, get over her cold, and to lose some weight.
It took a few weeks for Zoe to get comfortable enough to allow her foster mom to pet her, but once she did, she loved being petted. What she craves most (beside treats) is being brushed! It is one of favorite things, and she will purrr and rub her head against the brush asking for more. Since Zoe was so fat, she couldn't reach around to groom her back, and the brushing felt wonderful. Her coat is very glossy now from all the pampering! Click on the short video below to see how much Zoe loves getting brushed. She also pats your arm when she wants to be petted, it is so cute!
Zoe is very affectionate and likes being around people, but she needs a certain kind of home: No young children, no other cats, and someone who understands that she has her boundaries. She wouldn't allow anyone to pick her up at first - probably because it wasn't comfortable due to her weight - but now she lets her foster mom hold her and even purrs. Zoe has made incredible progress since she's been in foster care, but she needs someone who respects her boundaries when she's "done" (don't we all)., and will let you know when she's getting annoyed (usually swishing her tail)
Zoe has lost an astonishing 6 lbs since May, and you can tell she feels so much better! She can now groom properly and even jumps around the room and up on the sofa asking for attention. At age 12, she's very vibrant, and had many more healthy, wonderful years left, especially as she continues to lose a bit more weight. She cannot be allowed to free-feed and can never eat people food or excessive treats. In foster care, Zoe eats two meals a day of high-quality cat kibble and some canned food on top. She gets two or three treats a day, and boy, does she look forward to them!
Zoe came to OCAS as a severely unhealthy, depressed, angry girl, and she's transformed over the last few months. We think that once she's in a stable, calm home and continues on her weight loss plan, she will get even better - physically and emotionally. Her foster mom says Zoe is loving, funny, and calm, and she's got a lot of love to give someone who can provide the environment and patience she needs.
Are you a perfect match for big, beautiful Zoe? Contact me, Caroline, to arrange a meet and greet!
You can text me: 407-340-7668 or email: Caroline@kittenschool.com for more info on Zoe and to arrange to come meet her. We are halfway between downtown Orlando and Millenia Mall area.
Zoe and I are looking forward to meeting you!
Adoption is through Orange County Animal Services, fee $50 and includes updated vaccines, microchip, and medical exam. Zoe's adopter will also go home with a large goody bag full of cat treats, toys, and other fun kitty items!

Adopting a cat in Orange County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
