4. Cindy

Adult · Female · Russian Blue / Mixed (short coat) · 11 mi from Stockton

My name may be Silly, but there’s actually nothing silly about me at all. I’m a chatty, loving, and gentle girl who will make it very easy for you to fall in love.I came from a home with many other cats, and when my owner needed to reduce the number of cats in the house, I found myself looking for a new beginning. While my world changed overnight, I haven’t let it dim my sweet personality. I still greet people with affection, ask for attention, and happily chat away as if we’ve known each other forever.I love other cats and get along wonderfully with them. I’m also very food-motivated, so a tasty snack is a quick way to win my heart.

5. Starr

Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 11 mi from Stockton

Hi, I’m Starr. Not too long ago, I was out in the world trying to survive while caring for my 5 tiny babies. Thankfully, we were rescued, and I was finally able to relax and be the mama my kittens needed. I loved my babies with all my heart, and when orphaned newborns desperately needed help, I opened my heart to them, too. Watching them grow strong has been my greatest joy. Now, my kittens are ready to find homes of their own, and for the first time, it’s my turn. I’m a sweet, friendly girl who loves people, but I’d rather be the only princess in the house Other cats just aren’t my thing. After spending so much of my life taking care of everyone else, I’m hoping to find someone who will take care of me.

6. Aladdin

Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 11 mi from Stockton

My name is Aladdin, and while my name may belong to a prince, my story certainly doesn’t. I wasn’t born into a palace or surrounded by luxury. I was rescued from the streets, where every day was about survival and hoping that someone would notice me.Life outside taught me to be cautious, so I can be a little nervous when meeting new people. But if you give me a chance and a little patience, you’ll discover the sweetest side of me. Once I know I’m safe, I turn into a purring, affectionate boy who simply wants to be loved.I don’t ask for much. A cozy spot to rest, gentle pets, and someone to call my own would mean everything to me.

I get along well with other cats and have a playful side, too. Wand toys are my absolute favorite, although I should warn you: once I get my paws on one, I’m not very good at sharing! The truth is, I’ve spent enough of my life wondering where I belong. I’ve survived the streets, but what I really want now is a family, a home, and someone who will look at me and decide that I’m worth choosing.I may not be a prince, but I promise to treasure my forever family like royalty. 10. Licorice

Kitten (3 months 26 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 14 mi from Stockton

Licorice was rescued as a stray kitten from Philadelphia with her siblings. She is very sweet and loves to play. Licorice has been spayed, received her 1st FVRCP vaccine, has been dewormed, tested negative for feline leukemia but positive for FIV and microchipped. Her siblings tested positive for FIV too so this means that they are carrying the antibodies from their FIV positive mother. It takes about 6 months for the antibodies to go away so they will have to be retested at that time. At this point they should test negative, keep in mind they are just testing positive because they have the antibodies from the mom not the actual virus. To adopt Licorice please complete the online application at www.fourthepaws.org or you can see her at the Newtown Petsmart adoption center located at 2600 S Eagle Rd. Her adoption fee is $75.

We think Terran is somewhere between one and two. This guy ended up getting caught during a trapping job we were doing. 13. Jaspurr

Adult (2 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 14 mi from Stockton

Japurr was quiet when he first came into our care now he is a purring machine. He's very small for a boy kitty. Jaspürr was found all alone, scared and hungry in a park in Trenton. The vet estimated him to be around 2 yrs old. Jaspürr has a playful and intense personality, once you gain his trust. It took a few weeks to do this, but now he really likes and looks for his humans/fosters. He is fast to explore his surroundings, jumping/climbing everywhere at his own pace. Jaspürr truly, carefully observes and learns about his humans with those bright eyes of his, you can almost see his brain trying to understand his humans’ actions. He has a soft meow, sounds almost like a baby. Jaspürr is very shy at first and it can take a few days for him to warm up (like most cats). Once he trusts you, he loves to lay by your side, rub his head on your hands and being brushed all over. He does not mind being held for a few minutes, best if wrapped on a blanket/towel. Jaspürr loves cat toys and scratching cat trees. So far, we don’t know how he relates to other cats because the resident cat in his foster home isn't interested in other kitties. Jaspürr likes sunning and looking out of windows for hours, happily watching birds/squirrels/clouds. Please consider giving this sweet boy a forever home

Adult (4 years) · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 14 mi from Stockton

Our adorable boy Clarendon is around four years old. Look at this cute face? How can anyone resist this guy. He was found outside and we're not sure who his family was. He's a big, calm , quiet guy who does well with other cats and like people. He is FIV+ and we will say it over and over, FIV is nothing to worry about, it's an immune deficiency, that's it. Clarendon can live with other cats who don't have FIV (he is now), it's not transmissable by anything other than a deep bite wound (he's a lover) , with good normal care, he will live as long as any other cat and does not need extra vet care because he is FIV+. He's a doll and needs someone to love him forever. Could you be his person We hope so !!!!

Adopting a cat in Stockton

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
