1. Moochie
Senior · Male · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Keyes

When Moochie came to us, he had just lost his home, his person, and his doggo best friend of 12 years... all in one day. He was understandably very confused and shut down. He spent a couple of days just hiding in a tiny cubby. As he settles in, he is blossoming into a sweet and playful guy. Despite being a senior, he plays with toys and likes to explore.
He is a little unsure of new environments, but he starts to purr and play after a few days. He would really love a home where he has a safe yard he can hang out in before coming inside to relax.

Moochie will need someone who can read cat body language and let him dictate the pace of his adjustment. Sometimes he'll ask for pets and sometimes he really doesn't want them. He's good about communicating his desires but can get prickly if his boundaries are pushed too far. As soon as he realizes you understand his cues, he'll be the happiest guy.

2. Sissy & Sassy
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Keyes

Meet Sissy and Sassy! They are two sisters that have never been separated and love each tremendously. They were adopted from us last year, and now they are looking for a new forever home where they have more space. Their current mom is so sad to say goodbye, but with living arrangements changing to a rental with with a dog on the owners property and next to a busy road, it makes impossible to give them their best life. They are both very loving and are huge cans of lap time or snuggling in bed.

3. Zuri
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 42 mi from Keyes

Zuri is sweet and determined! She isn't afraid to tell you how she's feeling (in other words, she can be chatty if things aren't going her way!) She loves to climb, to play, to sun bathe, and to find her human while they're sleeping & curl up next to them. She is very used to kids, friendly dogs, and other cats.

4. Yogi
Young · Male · Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) · 49 mi from Keyes

When Yogi isn’t zooming around the house playing with his brother, he wants nothing more than to curl up on your chest and snuggle into your neck. He instantly loves everyone he meets. This boy craves constant human affection and will do anything to be involved in everything. That includes climbing people like trees! Because of this we have put nail caps on him. He knows now that he can’t climb people but he still likes to paw at our legs for attention. It’s very cute. He’s also very easy to put nail caps on, he just loves the attention. He should eventually grow out of the climbing though and no longer need the nail caps.

Because of his clinginess he would love a home where his person is either retired or works at home. However, if he were adopted with his brother Boo Boo, he would likely be ok with being alone during the day. He’s great around other cats and would likely do very well with children and dogs. He’s confident and curious and has very little fear of anything. Whoever adopts this precious little guy is incredibly lucky!

5. Boo Boo
Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Keyes

Boo Boo is a quiet little guy but don’t let that fool you. He’s extremely friendly, curious, and outgoing. He’s obsessed with wand toys and can hear one being played with from anywhere in the house. He’s also fascinated by the vacuum and very curious about the dishwasher. He’s the kind of cat that tries to climb into everything. He’s very silly. He likes to cuddle on the couch or in bed, and when you pick him up he melts right into your arms. He loves wrestling with his brother and chasing his foster cat sisters around the house. He would really love being adopted with his brother. At the very least he needs one or two other cat companions.
Read more about Boo Boo
Boo Boo has FHV (feline herpes virus) which is very common among cats and not something that will affect his long term health. Stress or illness, especially when cats are young, can cause flare ups that result in cold like symptoms. They usually resolve in a week or two but for some cats like Boo Boo they can last longer. Boo Boo’s only lingering symptom is a weepy eye, but we are hopeful that once he settles into his forever home it will eventually go away. For some cats it can take many months to dry up. But not to worry, Boo Boo is very good about having his eye cleaned. In fact, he doesn’t have any bad habits that we’ve seen, he’s really just a very sweet, playful, and well mannered boy. He gets along very well with other cats and would likely do well with dogs and children too. Though the stress of a more active household might make his weepy eye take longer to resolve.

6. Stefan & Damon
Young · Male · Siamese / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 49 mi from Keyes

Damon and Stefan are a pair of eye candies! These two handsome boys have beautiful markings and vibrant eyes that just tug at your heart. The tipped ears on them indicate they have been through a TNR program. While this program is great for managing cat populations, it doesn’t necessarily provide the best introduction to humans. While they have been gradually warming up to the idea that people aren’t so bad, naturally, they still have reservations. Once Stefan has warmed up to you, he loves to be pet behind the ears and will reward you with nonstop purrs. Damon will show his trust by coming up to you for treats and wet food, and with months of learning to let down his gaurd with his foster is just starting to enjoy being petted. They are very shy at first, but they are familiar with people and enjoy gentle care on their own terms. According to these kittens, a great building block for trust starts with tasty treats and play. Damon and Stefan will let their guard down a bit to play with wand toys or chase springs and toys that you toss for them. Damon prefers wand toys, Stefan LOVES the laser pointer, and they equally love chasing any toy you can toss.
Read more about Stefan & Damon
Damon and Stefan are looking for a loving home that understands very shy cats and has no stipulation on how long it may take for them to open up with their new person. Although they love cats and get along very well with them, they may have a much better chance at warming up to you if they are the only two cats. They wouldn’t make good cats for first time cat owners or families with children. They would do best in a calmer home with adults only that have previous experience working with very shy/feral cats. They are okay with a cat friendly dog. Potential adopters should have a good understanding of cat behavior and the patience to let them trust you at their pace. Potential adopters must understand that they must fully be committed to gentle and consistent effort.
These two have been in our adoption program for some time now and just looking for that purrfect person to offer them unconditional love in a forever home.
If you are interested in offering these 2 a home please fill out an online adoption application by clicking here or going to our website at www.catsupport.net. This is the first step in scheduling a meet & greet.

Adopting a cat in Keyes
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
