1. Flemeth
Senior (9 years 5 months) · Female · Tabby (short coat) · 19 mi from San Jose

Meet Flemeth!
Flemeth is a beautiful senior girl, approximately 9 years old, with a calm, independent personality and a story of resilience. After her longtime caregiver was displaced, Flemeth was left behind and sadly experienced abuse at the hands of neighbors. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought into our care, where she has been learning what it means to feel safe and loved.
Read more about Flemeth
Flemeth is a gentle, low-maintenance companion who enjoys a peaceful environment and the freedom to do things at her own pace. She expresses affection in her own quiet way, preferring peaceful companionship over constant attention. As she has grown more comfortable in foster care, she has begun accepting gentle pets in her favorite cozy spots and showing increasing curiosity about the people around her. She also enjoys quietly exploring her surroundings, especially when she thinks nobody is watching!
One thing Flemeth absolutely adores is food, especially Churu treats! This sweet, toothless lady can always be persuaded to leave her favorite cozy spot for a tasty treat. She also enjoys the company of other cats and has a playful side that comes out when she feels comfortable.
Flemeth is looking for a patient, understanding adopter who will appreciate her independent nature and allow her to build trust at her own pace. She would make a wonderful companion for someone who finds joy in providing a safe, peaceful home and watching a once-frightened cat gradually blossom. After everything she has endured, Flemeth deserves a loving indoor home where she can finally enjoy the comfort, security, and kindness she has always deserved.
Could you be the person who gives Flemeth her happily ever after? Please complete an adoption application with Pink Paws for the Cause to be considered for adopting this special girl!
She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines.

6. Mocha & Latte
Young (4 months) · Female · Domestic Medium Hair · 5 mi from San Jose

THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal.

Meet Mocha & Latte — Bonded Sisters
Mocha (black, short hair) and Latte (gray tabby, medium hair) are bonded sisters who were rescued from a backyard. These cuties have been spayed and vaccinated through Nine Lives, and have been inseparable ever since!
Read more about Mocha & Latte
Both sisters are a little shy, but they each have their own personality. Mocha is the more outgoing and talkative of the two. She can’t resist a good play session and will happily jump and chase a wand or string toy. She’s also easily won over with Churu or Temptations treats! Latte is still learning to feel comfortable around people, but she loves to roughhouse and play with her sister.
When they’re not busy playing, these girls love to cuddle up, roll around together, and groom each other. Their overnight camera footage shows them running, chasing, and wrestling their way through the night. Their close bond is clear, and they’ll need a home where they can stay together and continue building confidence at their own pace.
They haven’t been introduced to other pets or children, although they seem able to tolerate the noise of toddlers when they have space to themselves. Both are reliable litter box users.
Due to human allergies in their current home, Mocha and Latte have been eating Purina ONE LiveClear Allergen-Reducing Formula, but they can transition to other appropriate kitten foods.
Interested in giving these sweet sisters a loving home together? For more information, please contact Jessica at 408-605-7532 or jslu82@gmail.com.

7. rocky
Kitten (6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from San Jose

Rocky and his siblings, Loki Loe and Dosa Doe were rescued at a community cat feeding station. Rocky was found weeks after the first two but his social skills did not suffer. Initially shy, all kittens have blossomed into friendly playful pets. They like stuffed toys, mice, crinkle balls and more. Time with their humans and wand toys makes for a great playdate. After exercising and snacks, the kittens like afternoon naps. This gets them ready for the next play session.
Dosa has been adopted but Rocky and Loki Loe are great friends. They can be adopted as singles or together.

10. Pipa
Young (10 months) · Female · Tabby (short coat) · 19 mi from San Jose

Meet Pipa – The Mama of Every Heart
If love had a face, it would be Pipa’s. Born 11/25/25
Pipa is, without a doubt, the most loving and gentle foster kitty we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. We have never even heard her hiss! She has the sweetest soul and a heart big enough for absolutely everyone. Every time a new foster kitty arrives, Pipa is right there to welcome them. She is everybody’s mama, and she takes that job very seriously!
Read more about Pipa
She’s the mama to our 110-pound foster dog, the mama to our 15-year-old boy, and the little guardian angel who comes running whenever someone is getting into trouble, as if to say, “Hey, hey! Leave them alone! They didn’t mean it!”
Pipa loves nothing more than cuddling up with her humans for a cozy movie night. She’ll be waiting to greet you when you come home, and wherever you go, you can be sure she’ll want to know what you’re doing. She likes to be part of everything! And don't let all that motherly love fool you — Pipa also loves to play and has a fun, playful side that makes her even more wonderful.
Pipa does have chronic sniffles, which means she’ll likely have some sniffles and sneezes for the rest of her life. It’s simply part of her, and it doesn't take away from the enormous amount of love she has to give.
Now, this special girl deserves something just as beautiful as the love she gives everyone else: a forever family of her very own. A family who will welcome her into their hearts, cherish her gentle nature, enjoy movie-night cuddles, and let her be the loving little mama she was born to be.
If you're looking for a kitty who will greet you at the door, follow you around, keep you company, make you laugh, and fill your home with unconditional love, Pipa might just be your girl.
She has spent so much time being everyone else's mama. Isn't it time someone became hers?
Pipa must be adopted into a home with other kittens or a playful cat. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines.

11. Teddy
Adult (4 years 7 months) · Male · Exotic Shorthair (short coat) · 7 mi from San Jose

Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a 4.5-year-old neutered male Exotic Shorthair looking for his forever home.
He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and becomes a sweet, affectionate companion. He’s a smart little guy who loves having people around and isn’t shy about meowing when he wants attention. He has his own way of communicating with us, and it’s pretty adorable!
Because of his tiny nose, softer food can be easier for him to eat, although he definitely shows interest in dry food, too.
Teddy would love a home where he gets lots of love, attention, and company.

One important note: we don’t recommend Teddy for a home with a history of cat allergies, as we want to avoid putting him or his future family through that uncertainty.

12. Orange Juice
Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 13 mi from San Jose

Like any orange boy, OJ has a penchant for mischief. He's starved for affection, and for food. He'll never say no to wet food, and will immediately sniff out your snacks. Because he's only recently learned to live in a home, OJ has an occasional habit of sometimes urinating on soft surfaces like beds despite being litter box trained. Will need a prepared adopter ready to address this issue if needed. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Orange Juice (OJ) and his mate Clementine belonged to a small group of sociable stray cats in my neighborhood.
Read more about Orange Juice
They'd sleep and play around the children's playground structure in front of my house. Because the HOA does not allow for residents to be seen feeding them, they were not allowed to stay as community cats and were at risk of having Animal Control being called to capture and likely euthanize them. OJ is likely a father, and has at least 2 other orange kittens that had already been adopted by a fellow neighbor. He'd occasionally go to visit them by peeking through the neighbors screen door. For anybody interested in adopting him - this would be a great friendship opportunity with the other cat owners so that this small group of cats could stay connected. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Gets along great with other cats, and doesn't enjoy being alone. Orange Juice is currently living in Union City, CA 94587 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2320 [ts=1792682415&src=rg]

22. Grey
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair · 13 mi from San Jose

Meet Grey, a truly extraordinary feline with extra toes and an extra big heart! Grey is a polydactyl kitty—yes, she boasts six adorable toes on her paws—and she uses every single one of them to steal the hearts of everyone she meets. If you are looking for a world-class snuggler, Grey is your girl. She is exceptionally affectionate and lives for human connection. Her favorite activities include cuddling up close, purring like a tiny motor, making enthusiastic biscuits with her multi-toed paws, and sleeping right by your side every single night. Grey isn't just a total cuddle bug; she’s also a bright, playful soul.
Read more about Grey
Exceptionally smart, she has an uncanny ability to understand human emotions and language, often tuning into your voice and routine like a sweet little shadow. When she isn't busy soaking up love or keeping you company, she’s happily engaging in playtime or making friends—she gets along wonderfully with other cats and thrives in a friendly, interactive environment. Grey’s journey began this past July in a North San Jose parking lot. She wandered into a managed colony of fixed cats, clearly looking for a little help. When rescuers trapped her for TNR, a vigilant caregiver noticed her paw was bleeding right before her release. Plans changed instantly—she went home with her foster mom to heal and see if indoor life suited her. It turns out, home life suits her brilliantly! Behind those initial street-cat nerves, this sweet four-month-old revealed a remarkably affectionate, purr-heavy heart and a playful side that keeps her foster family entertained. With her charming personality, Grey could potentially fit in any home. Grey is a special polydactyl kitten who was born with extra toes on all four paws! One extra toe on her hind paw grew downward, which kept her foot from resting flat and meant she had to walk on her tiptoes or the side of her paw. Thanks to the incredible team at Peninsula Catworks, Grey had surgery to safely remove the problematic toe. She sailed through her recovery, and today she’s running, jumping, and playing just like any other happy kitten! Grey is currently living in San Jose, CA 95131 Please note:Grey is polydactyl. We also do not place kittens older than six months into homes where there is currently not another young cat in residence. Most of our kittens are in "bonded pairs" or bonded with their littermates. We reserve the right not to separate bonded pairs or place kittens individually. The happiness and quality of life for our kittens is our top priority. =^..^=

30. Binx
Adult (2 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 5 mi from San Jose

Binx is an adorable, neutered 10-week-old black domestic shorthair kitten who is affectionate to the point of being delightfully annoying. He always wants to be wherever you are, and the second you touch him, the purring begins.
This little guy is full of kitten energy and loves to play, especially with other cats. He wrestles regularly with the resident cat and would love a feline playmate in his forever home. He also co-exists happily with the resident 50-pound dog, so he's proven he can handle a big personality (and a big housemate) with ease.

Binx has a great appetite and a voice to match. He's vocal enough to let you know when he wants food or love, and he's not shy about asking for either.
If you're looking for a sweet, social shadow who will follow you from room to room and purr the whole way, Binx is ready to be your guy. A home with another playful cat would make him extra happy.
Binx is being cared for by a member of the community. To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy

How to adopt from 13thstcats.org
To meet our rescued cats/kitten: we ask that you fill out an adoption application first. Once you submit an application, a volunteer will contact you. All of our kitties are in foster homes; some can be seen at the foster homes, or at an upcoming Adoption Fair. We ask for your understanding: We are an all-volunteer organization and many of us have full-time jobs outside of our volunteer activities; therefore, it may be a few days before someone can respond to your email. We always try to reply as soon as possible. The kitties are for adoption, not for sale. Adoption fee for kittens is $125 ($200 for two) to help cover some of our food and veterinary expenses. All cats and kittens are: vaccinated as appropriate for their age microchipped dewormed deflead tested for FELV (feline leukemia) / FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) spayed/neutered prior to adoption We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a kitty is a long-term commitment; the average life span for a kitty is 15-20 years. Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats that would be happy to be the only cat in your life! Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care.

Adopting a cat in San Jose
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
