1. Bella
Adult (5 years 2 months) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Calico / Mixed (medium coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Bella. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and brought to SBACC. It was obvious that I was very pregnant, and I delivered six kittens in my foster home the very next day. Sadly, one of them did not survive, but the other five have grown into happy, healthy kittens and will soon be ready for their forever homes. I took very good care of my kittens, but I am now done with motherhood and ready to be loved and pampered in my own home. My foster Mom says that I am the sweetest cat you will ever meet. I am very vocal and love to chat with my people, always letting you know when I want attention. More than anything, I love curling up in your lap and soaking up all the cuddles I can get. If you are looking for a loving companion who wants to be by your side, I am the perfect lap cat and will happily keep you company every chance I get.

Meet TIGER LILY, a young adult domestic shorthair tabby from Riverside County, California, whose extraordinary orange markings are matched by a heart full of sweetness and affection. This beautiful girl has one of the most eye-catching coats around, with a unique orange pattern that makes her truly stand out. But her beauty is only part of her charm. Hi, my name is Latte. I was eight weeks old when an SBACC volunteer rescued me from the wheel well of a car. After coming to SBACC I went to a foster home with another orphaned kitten. I am a shy but affectionate boy. I will hide when I’m feeling insecure. Once I warm up to my environment I become a sweet and affectionate kitty. I like to play and would love to cuddle up next to you and I purr when I am happy. I never scratch or bite and I am good with other cats and kids! I would do best in a quiet home and with someone with patience who will wait for me to come out of my shell and be the loving kitten that I am.

14. Lenore Dove
Adult (5 years) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Lenore Dove, and I am a survivor. I had been abused, but luckily I was rescued and brought to SBACC. Someone who feeds feral cats found me. I had been dumped in a colony of ferals, and she knew I was in bad shape and did not belong there. I had a severely damaged eye that ruptured and had to be removed, and I had bruising on my abdomen and chest that looked like I had been kicked. I also had sores and scabs on my neck and head. I am a bit shy and timid, but I warm up quickly to quiet, gentle people. The people who care for me at SBACC say I am very sweet. I am hoping to find a home where I will be safe and loved forever and ever.

Adult (2 years 1 month) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Tuxedo / Mixed (short coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Henna. I was rescued from an abandoned property along with my two kittens. They went to a foster home, but I stayed at SBACC. I was not in very good shape. I had a severely damaged eye that had to be removed, and I have a significant head tilt. Some specialists have checked it out, and they think it’s due to an ear infection and some inner ear issues. It might be with me forever. Despite this, I am a very friendly girl and a ball of energy. I am hoping for a forever home, and I would probably do best as an only cat.

Kitten (3 months 18 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Elody. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter when I was about 5-6 weeks old. I had a URI and an eye infection, and my URI turned out to be pneumonia. After lots of antibiotics, both are gone now. One eye is fine, but the other is cloudy and probably always will be. That does not slow me down, and I love to run around and play. I am shy with new people but will become a lovebug once I warm up. I liked the older cats in my foster home and would love a quiet home with another cat. I could be an only kitty, but only if I get lots of love and attention

Kitten (3 months 13 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Popplio. My two sibs and I were rescued from an overcrowded shelter when we were six weeks old. We came to SBACC and then went to a foster home. I am the shyest of my sibs and slow to warm up to new people. However, once I know I can trust you, I will be by your side, purring. Loud noises and fast movements scare me, but I will come running to play with a wand toy. I love to chase and play with my brothers and with all kinds of toys. This is what my foster Mom says about me. “She makes the cutest little coos when she is happily playing, and she is a little character who knows what she loves and when she wants attention.

She will even meow if she wants extra attention or tilt her head to be extra cute for you!” I would do best in a calm, quiet home, with another kitten or young cat for company. I will need lots of attention and playtime with my humans. My brothers and I are in one pic together.

Hi, my name is Pumpkaboo. My two sibs and I were rescued from an overcrowded shelter when we were six weeks old. We came to SBACC and then went to a foster home. My foster Mom says I look just like the starry sky with my rich black fur flecked with sparkling silver stars. I love being carried around like a baby or riding on your shoulder, and I will always quietly come to you for love. I do not like competing for attention, but I would love to be the center of your world. I will wake you with kisses and pull you in for face nuzzles. I love chasing balls, wand toys, feathers, streamers, or even your sandals! I am a super-active cuddlebug and ready for my forever home. I could be an only kitten if I get lots of attention and playtime with my humans, but it would be much more fun to go home with one of my sibs or with another kitten or young cat. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
ISAAC and his siblings (ALLUCARD - ATREUS - CARMILLA) were turned into the shelter. We have no real idea what their life was before coming to the rescue.
So ISAAC and CARMILLA were adopted together back in 2021 as small kittens. To their dismay, they were returned to us in 2026. It was no fault of their own. The woman decided she was moving back home and couldn't take her cats.
Meet ISAAC, a handsome, extra-large tabby boy with beautiful white markings and a heart just as big as his cuddly frame. ISAAC is a sweet, loving gentleman who adores affection and is ready to find a loving home where he can settle in, feel cherished, and share all the warmth he has to offer.
ISAAC’s story began when he and his sister, CARMILLA, were saved from a high-kill shelter as kittens. At just three months old, ISAAC found a family to call his own. After four and a half years, he and CARMILLA returned to seek a new chapter, and now this wonderful boy is ready to meet the people who will welcome him into their lives and appreciate what a special companion he is.
If you love big cats with even bigger hearts, ISAAC might just steal yours. He is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate boy who enjoys cuddles and being close to his people. There is something extra comforting about having a big, soft feline friend nearby, ready to keep you company after a long day. Isaac has that wonderful, loving presence that makes a home feel a little warmer and everyday moments a little sweeter.
ISAAC would be happy as the only cat in the family, where he can enjoy plenty of attention and companionship. He may also be compatible with a very friendly, easygoing feline companion who is comfortable sharing space and making new friends. His future family should focus on a thoughtful introduction and a comfortable environment where everyone can settle in at their own pace.
This big tabby boy has so much love to give. He is looking for a family who sees beyond his size and recognizes the gentle, cuddly sweetheart underneath. Whether you imagine quiet evenings together, affectionate moments on the couch, or simply having a loving feline friend nearby, ISAAC is ready to bring companionship and comfort to his next chapter.
To learn more about adopting ISAAC, please apply at Workinwhiskers.com. Could this extra-large bundle of tabby sweetness be the loving companion you have been hoping to welcome into your life?
ISAAC is a DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TABBY. She is 5 years and 6 months old and is good with cats. In his last home he was never around children but did live with a small dog.

ELIZABETH, her mom ESSIE and her siblings, WAYON and ELI were kicked out of their home. So the neighbor (our foster now) picked them up and reached out to us. Then about 2 weeks later, she picled up 3 kittens that were abandoned at a vet, So ESSIE raised all 6 kittens. The other 3 are WALTER, SONNY and MAXINE.
Meet ELIZABETH, a sweet Egyptian Mau tabby kitten from Beaumont, California, whose affectionate heart and gentle personality make her a little bundle of love wrapped in a beautiful tabby coat. This darling girl has mastered the art of making people smile, and if you are looking for a kitten who loves cuddles, enjoys being held, and happily soaks up attention, ELIZABETH may be just the girl you have been dreaming of!
ELIZABETH's story began outdoors, where she was found alongside her mama, ESSIE, and her siblings, ELI and WAYLON. Their little family needed help, and a kind neighbor stepped in to bring them to safety and provide a loving foster home. Now ELIZABETH has the opportunity to grow, play, and share her wonderfully affectionate personality with a family of her own.
This girl is all about love! ELIZABETH is friendly, sweet, and wonderfully snuggly. She loves being petted and held, and she is happy to enjoy those special moments when she can be close to her favorite people. Whether you are settling in for a relaxing evening or taking a break from a busy day, ELIZABETH would love to be part of it. Her affectionate nature makes her a delightful companion who can turn an ordinary moment into something special with a little purring, cuddling, and kitten sweetness.
ELIZABETH also has a fun little family resemblance worth mentioning. She and her sibling ELI look remarkably alike, so you might need to take a second look to tell these two apart! Fortunately, ELIZABETH has her own unmistakable charm, especially when she is leaning into a gentle pet or happily enjoying a cuddle.
Another wonderful quality about ELIZABETH is that she loves dogs. Her comfort around canine companions could make her a lovely addition to a family with a friendly, cat-compatible dog, provided introductions are thoughtful and gradual.
ELIZABETH is ready to fill her next chapter with cozy snuggles, playful kitten adventures, and plenty of affection. She needs a loving family who will cherish her sweet personality and give her opportunities to keep growing into the wonderful companion she is becoming.
To learn more about adopting ELIZABETH, please apply at Workinwhiskers.com. Could this affectionate little tabby be the snuggly new companion who brings extra warmth and happiness into your life?

The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat if a kitten is too much energy for you! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old.
Meet MOLLY, a sweet orange tabby girl from Corona, California, whose heart is full of love for people and whose favorite place is wherever she can be close to her favorite humans. MOLLY and her son, MAX, were saved from the streets together, and now this affectionate mama is ready to find a loving home where she can enjoy all the cuddles, attention, and companionship she adores.
MOLLY is a people-loving girl who knows exactly what makes life wonderful: gentle pets, warm hugs, and quality time with her humans. She is super friendly and enjoys receiving affection, making her a lovely companion for someone who wants a cat who truly appreciates human company. Whether you are settling down for a quiet evening or taking a break during a busy day, MOLLY would be delighted to share a little love and remind you how special it feels to have a feline friend by your side.
While MOLLY's heart opens easily to people, she is more cautious when it comes to meeting other cats. She can feel frightened around feline companions and may hiss or growl to communicate that she needs space. These are her ways of expressing discomfort, and she will be happiest in an environment where she feels secure and does not have to worry about sharing her space with a cat who makes her nervous.
.
MOLLY would do wonderfully as the only cat in the family, where she can enjoy being the center of attention and soak up all the affection her heart desires. Alternatively, she may be compatible with an exceptionally friendly, relaxed cat who can give her space and allow introductions to happen gradually. A patient family who respects her boundaries will help her feel safe and settled.
This beautiful orange tabby has so much love to give. She is ready for cozy naps, loving hugs, gentle head rubs, and a family who understands her needs. With MOLLY around, you can look forward to a loyal little companion who makes every day brighter simply by being near you.

26. Daisy & Minnie
Female · Russian Blue / Bombay (short coat) · 64 mi from San Diego

Every Home needs two special kitties ... Meet Daisy and Minnie!
Some kitties are beautiful on their own.
But every once in a while, you find two that were simply meant to stay side by side.
Daisy and Minnie are 6 month old bonded girls whose personalities complement each other perfectly. They are sweet, gentle, playful, and incredibly loving, and after spending every day of their young lives together, they're looking for a forever family that will let them continue their adventure as a pair.
Think of them as the perfect buddy movie...
One is the outgoing tour guide.
The other is the charming best friend who eventually steals the show.
Together?
They're absolutely irresistible.
Daisy: The Social Butterfly
This beautiful Russian Blue mix believes laps were invented specifically for cats.
If you sit down...
Congratulations.
You've just volunteered.
She adores people and happily accepts head scratches, cuddles, and afternoon naps curled up beside her favorite humans.
Read more about Daisy & Minnie
She's wonderfully confident, affectionate, and has the kind of personality that makes visitors immediately ask, "Can I pet her?"
Her beautiful coat only adds to her charm. She's absolutely stunning—but she has no idea. She's far too busy making friends.
Minnie: The Bombay Beauty
She is a goofball who is always up to a new acrobatic feat.
Do you have a cat tree?
Minnie is at the top, lounging in the sun, usually with one leg dangling off.
Do you have toys?
She is bouncing around the house with them in her mouth.
Often dropping them at your feet to entice you into a game of fetch.
Better Together
These girls truly bring out the best in one another.
They wrestle.
They chase toys.
They curl up together for naps.
They groom one another.
And after a busy day of kitten adventures, you'll often find them sleeping nose-to-nose, looking like two peas in a pod.
Their bond is beautiful to witness and exactly why they're looking for a home together.
Designing Their Dream Home
If Daisy and Minnie could decorate their forever home, their wish list wouldn't be very long.
A tall cat tree where they can survey their kingdom.
A sunny window for bird watching.
A basket overflowing with toys.
A couple of ridiculously soft beds...
...although there's a very good chance they'll choose to sleep together anyway.
Most importantly, they'd love a family that understands some of life's greatest joys come in pairs.
Double the Cats... Double the Love
People sometimes worry that adopting two kittens means twice the work.
Daisy and Minnie would respectfully disagree.
They keep each other entertained.
They comfort each other.
They burn off their zoomies together.
And they ensure neither one is ever lonely.
Instead of one little heart filling your home...
You'll have two.
And somehow, they make each other even sweeter.
Imagine coming home after a long day to find these two sweet girls happily greeting you.
Imagine watching them race up their cat tree, chase one another through the house, then collapse together for a nap as though the Olympics just ended.
Imagine spending years watching their friendship grow while they become part of your family.
Some kitties are simply better together.
Daisy and Minnie are one of those rare pairs.
They have been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350 for the pair.
If your home has room for twice the purrs, twice the laughter, and a lifetime of love, Daisy and Minnie are ready to capture your heart.

28. Kitten Udon
Kitten (4 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 85 mi from San Diego

Hi, my name is Udon. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter when I was three months old. One of my front paws was injured. X-rays did not show any breaks, and the vet said it might be nerve damage, so I went to a neurologist. He said it was definitely nerve damage and that maybe I had been hit by a car. He said there was no treatment for it, that physical therapy might or might not help, and that it is best that I not jump from high places or play too rough. I spent some time in a foster home, and I got around just fine; my paw hasn't slowed me down or stopped me from climbing and batting toys around.

My foster Mom says I am incredibly friendly, very playful, curious, and sweet. I love attention and will purr as soon as you pick me up. I even understood the boundaries and was respectful of the 19-year-old cat in my foster home. My foster Mom says I would do best with another kitten or young cat in my forever home because I really need a furry friend and playmate.

Adopting a cat in San Diego
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
