Personality
Darrow is basically the purfect kitten:Friendly, outgoing, playful and affectionate, Darrow loves nothing more than playing with his sister Virginia, followed by some quality lap time with his favorite people.Darrow likes to be right where the action is. He loves following his foster family around the house to see what everyone is up to and is eager to be part of whatever you are doing--wheter invited to supervise or not. Sometimes he's so enthusiastic about being included that he ends up right underfoot. One of Darrow's most endearing qualities is his almost constant purring. In fact, if he is out of sight, his foster family simply follows the sound of his purr to find him.Darrow absolutely adores his twin sister Virginia, and the two have a wonderful time playing, exploring, keeping each other company and entertained. Kitten (4 months 3 days) · Male · Domestic Long Hair / Bombay

Adopt Squeakie (m) and Sweetie (f!) Born on 6/20/26, Squeakie and Sweetie are ready for a cuddle puddle with you!

They were found in a Walnut Creek backyard, where their mama brought them each day to be fed, and they would watch through the glass door asking for the soft inside life. They had early interaction with humans, so they love attention and being held. They are curious, bright, very trusting kittens with magnificent glossy black coats and golden soulful eyes.

Sweetie is a true cat's cat. She loves lounging in the window, quietly observing her kingdom. She likes you to come to her, and when you ask for snuggles, she happily gives them.

Read more about Sweetie and Squeakie

Squeakie brings pure golden retriever energy. He's always ready to chase a ball, and he lives up to his name: he'll squeak at you until you pick him up for love. The moment he's in your arms, those squeaks turn into the loudest purr you've ever heard. He'll curl up in your lap for hours, soaking up every bit of love and attention.

Together they go wild for the feather wand, chasing ribbons, and batting a ball around. But their favorite activity is licking Churu right off your fingers! They do great with kids and other cats, and will probably do well with a cat-friendly dog.

Are these the coolest cats ever? Yes! Squeakie and Sweetie are bonded and adore each other, so need to stay together. Will you be their forever home?

30. Huffle Puff

Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Russian Blue (short coat)

Looking for a kitten with beauty, brains, and a touch of mystery? Meet Huffle Puff!
Born on March 4, 2026, this beautiful all-gray kitten's elegant looks might remind you of a tiny Russian Blue princess. Beneath her silvery coat is a sensitive soul who takes life at her own pace.
Gentle and observant, she watches the world from the top of the cat tree or a cozy spot before jumping in.
Once she settles in, you'll discover a sweet girl who loves the simple comforts of life: a plush bed, a warm sunbeam in the window, and playtime that includes feather wand toys and chasing small objects through her favorite cat tunnel.
She's not the type to demand attention, but she has a way of sneaking into your heart just as softly as she sneaks in for cuddles.
With patience and playful interaction, she'll reward you with gentle companionship, quiet affection, and plenty of cozy moments together.☀️
Meet Huffle Puff at CC4C's weekend adoption events, or contact LouAnne Laflamme (laflammemarcus@gmail.com)

Adopting a cat in San Joaquin County

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
