6. Mamacita
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair · 60 mi from Johnson City

Mamacita is a sweet girl who loves pets and allows you to hold her although she can get kinda fidgety. She prefers you talk to her while she eats. She has the most beautiful coat and eyes to match. Mamacita was a friendly neighborhood stray who had produced a litter of kittens as a teen mom. She raised them and someone in the neighborhood decided she was just too friendly to live the life of an unowned community cat so here she is with us looking for her forever home....safe, warm and never again wondering where her next meal was or worrying about predators and freezing to death. Mamacita is interested in what is on the other side of that door or window screen so her new family will need to be very cautious around open windows and doors.

Complete the online adoption application to be the first to schedule a meet and greet with Mamacita or visit her during our weekly cat adoption event from 12-4pm, Saturday at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.

15. Army Ranger
Adult · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 60 mi from Johnson City

Army Ranger is a handsome young tabby with a heart as big as his personality. He’s the perfect blend of playful, affectionate and social. He loves being around his people and will happily rub against your legs, nuzzle your face and soak up the pets and scratches. One of his favorite things is spending time with his humans, whether that’s playing with a toy, supervising your daily activities or simply curling up nearby for some attention. He will happily curl up between your legs at bedtime and he seems totally fine with other calm cats. His foster home does not have dogs so we are unsure about that situation.Since moving into foster care and finally having room to relax, his true personality has emerged.
Read more about Army Ranger
He’s proven himself to be a gentle, loving boy who wants nothing more than affection and companionship. Like many cats, he can become a little overstimulated if petting continues past his comfort level, but he communicates clearly with subtle warnings and responds well when his boundaries are respected.Army Ranger is looking for a cat-savvy adopter who appreciates feline communication and wants a loyal, affectionate companion. In return, he’ll reward you with endless purrs, sweet face rubs and the kind of loving friendship that makes every day a little brighter. This special boy has waited a long time for a place to call home, and now he’s more than ready to share his big heart with the right family. Meet Army Ranger by applying to adopt (no committment) to schedule a meet and greet in his foster home. 16. Frankie
Adult · Male · Domestic Short Hair · 60 mi from Johnson City

Frankie is such a sweet boy! He was living behind a pool supply warehouse being fed by a colony caregiver. She got him TNR'd (trapped/neutered/releaased) but we were there the next week, helping with some trapping and we met him. What a lover. He just wants all your love; he rubs on your face and is good about being picked up. Anything that includes love and he is happy. He will rollover and show you his belly and just purr, purr, purr. He was not meant for the life of an unowned Tom cat! Complete the online adoption application to be the first to schedule a meet and greet with Frankie or visit him during our weekly adoption event at PetSmart, Bleachery Blvd, from 12-4pm. All cats are spayed/neutered, current on age-appropriate vaccines, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative.

18. Fiddle
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair · 60 mi from Johnson City

Fiddle is sweet and playful. She insists on a daily routine including a clean litter box! She is vocal about things. Always sits near us in the same room or in the cat condo near the window. She loves cat tv. She is not a lap cat at least so far, but does genuinely enjoy being close. Fiddle came to us with her tongue hanging out and a lot of nasal congestion. She has been checked out by our vet and 2 others, and they all said the same thing...get her a dental cleaning and see if it helps. So one of the vets did a dental for us, and it has improved some but she still has her tongue out and has congestion so at this point, we are guessing that is just what comes with Fiddle.
Read more about Fiddle
She also had a nasal flush without improvement. Fiddle seems like she might be okay with an older calm dog but probably wouldn't care for a yappy/barky dog. We don't know about other cats. She does not like to be handled a lot and gets overstimulated fairly easily. Definitely an "on her terms" cat that prefer pets on her head and will tell you when you are annoying her with a paw swipe so probably not a great match with young children. All cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, FELV/FIV tested, dewormed and started on monthly flea preventative. Meet Fiddle by completing the online application first (no committment) and we will call to review with you and coordinate a meet and greet.

Izzy is not much of a lap cat yet, but that may change as she continues to get comfortable indoors. She's incredibly affectionate and really enjoys being petted. She's great with children as well. Joe Odin, named after a one-eyed Norse god of poetry, is himself an orange, one-eyed wonder. He is very vocal and responds joyfully to his world. He takes on a sort of “watch cat” presence and wants to know the skinny on anything new brought into the home. He enjoys playing with lazer pointers, teaser toys and especially playing tag and hide and seek with his younger brother Mike. Joe is a very dear boy who greets his caregiver at the door.Mike, or “Judge Mike” because he first appeared at the Madison County Court House whereupon he followed home his present caregiver, is a curious and precocious kitty. He loves to weigh in on any of his caregiver’s tasks, whether it be the dishes or laundry and especially glancing at the person’s laptop. He is a consummate teaser toy player and loves batting around his jingle bell balls, though his favorite leisure interest is in playing tag or wrestling with his big brother, Joe.Both boys are tidy litter box users, use their scratch pads on their cat trees and redirect easily if they attempt to use the furniture to scratch. They are affectionate and regularly want to be cuddled and brushed. And they are also independent, content to find a sunny window sill to nap on or to take in the the sights of the outdoors.Because Joe and Mike are such a loving bonded pair, they are offered as a pair only. This consideration will help ensure their smooth transion to a loving permanent home and their overall wellbeing and happiness. They groom and provide good company for each other. The boys come with their matching cat trees (pictured) and many teaser, lazer pointer and jingle bell ball toys, if the adoptive owner wants them.Contact me today at tblillard@gmail.com to learn more about this sweet pair of young cats.

Why adopt an adult cat in Johnson City
An adult cat's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are used to family life.
Grown cats are calmer and need less supervision than kittens, which suits people who work long hours or have young children.
