1. Lucille

Young (1 year 6 months) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 21 mi from Livermore

Adopt Lucille! Born around April 2025, beautiful Lucille gave birth to 4 kittens in April 2026, and the family was brought in from streets of Martinez shortly after. Lucille did a great job raising her kittens and is ready for her forever home. She has gorgeous eyes full of wonder and a slightly flat face; maybe she is part Scottish Fold.

Lucille loves cuddling people and being patted. She will approach you for pattings, curling and purring to show her happiness. She loves sleeping on your chest or in your lap. She would do best as an only cat but could get used to other cats with patience.

Young (3 months 28 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Livermore

Athos

and his brothers are named after the Three Musketeers. He is fittingly fearless running around and playing in the trees with his siblings in the backyard. He warms up quickly, especially with food. He has a great purr and beautiful stripes like a jungle creature. He gets along well with other cats and has been exposed to dogs but not sure how he'd do with them. He lives in a garage and backyard and would thrive in an indoor/outdoor environment.

Athos is being cared for by a member of the community. To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy

5. Machiavelli

Young (6 months) · Male · Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) · 19 mi from Livermore

Machiavelli & Lillian found each other when they had no mother in sight. Now these bonded kittens are looking for a home together -- and someone who will let their trust grow at its own pace.

Machiavelli is a handsome, shy boy with cloud-soft black fur, a gray undercoat, and beautiful ear tufts. He needs more time to feel comfortable with people, but his playful side shines when he and Lillian chase and tumble together. A patient adopter who lets him set the pace will give him the chance to blossom.

Read more about Machiavelli

Lillian, a brown tabby girl, is the curious, outgoing half of the pair. She greets you with a soft morning meow, winds around your ankles at mealtime, and loves investigating whatever you’re doing. An independent girl, she enjoys attention without needing to be in your lap. Balls, boxes, wand toys -- she’s ready for all of them!

Rescued from life outdoors, these two have come a long way. They need someone who enjoys Lillian’s company while giving Machiavelli the time and understanding he needs to feel safe.

Machiavelli and Lillian were born in approximately April 2026. They are both neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and good about using their litter box.

Young (2 months 6 days) · Female · Extra-Toes Cat (Hemingway Polydactyl) / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from Livermore

Hi, we’re Seven (calico) and Six (brown tabby) — great names, right?! We are bonded sisters, and we are both polydactyl kitties, which means we have extra toes! Our foster mom describes us as spunky, sweet and clever; and she adds that we love to eat!

We are being fostered with dogs, a cat and small children, and we are all getting along well. We sleep quietly through the night and are very good about using our litter box.

We were born approximately August 13, 2026. We are a bonded pair and need to be adopted together. We are good with other cats and gentle children. We can placed as “foster-to-adopt” kittens until we have been fixed.

13. Ollie

Young (4 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 19 mi from Livermore

Hi, my name is Ollie, and I was rescued after being found all by myself in a parking lot without my mother or siblings. I am a sweet and observant boy. My foster mom says that I'm very calm, and we are working on my confidence. I really like to be in the same room as my human. When people come to my home they always tell me that I have extra-soft fur and pretty eyes. Some people say that I look like a little panther because I’m shiny and graceful!

Read more about Ollie

I love my foster brothers and sisters -- I play with them all the time and we like to give each other baths. I try not to play too rough but I like to run around the family room! I've heard my mom tell people that if my forever home had another cat or two, I would fit in very well.

I was born approximately May 31, 2026. I have been fixed, vaccinated and microchipped, and am ready for my new, loving home!

14. Yogi

Young · Male · Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) · 17 mi from Livermore

When Yogi isn’t zooming around the house playing with his brother, he wants nothing more than to curl up on your chest and snuggle into your neck. He instantly loves everyone he meets. This boy craves constant human affection and will do anything to be involved in everything. That includes climbing people like trees! Because of this we have put nail caps on him. He knows now that he can’t climb people but he still likes to paw at our legs for attention. It’s very cute. He’s also very easy to put nail caps on, he just loves the attention. He should eventually grow out of the climbing though and no longer need the nail caps.

Read more about Yogi

Because of his clinginess he would love a home where his person is either retired or works at home. However, if he were adopted with his brother Boo Boo, he would likely be ok with being alone during the day. He’s great around other cats and would likely do very well with children and dogs. He’s confident and curious and has very little fear of anything. Whoever adopts this precious little guy is incredibly lucky!

15. Boo Boo

Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 17 mi from Livermore

Boo Boo is a quiet little guy but don’t let that fool you. He’s extremely friendly, curious, and outgoing. He’s obsessed with wand toys and can hear one being played with from anywhere in the house. He’s also fascinated by the vacuum and very curious about the dishwasher. He’s the kind of cat that tries to climb into everything. He’s very silly. He likes to cuddle on the couch or in bed, and when you pick him up he melts right into your arms. He loves wrestling with his brother and chasing his foster cat sisters around the house. He would really love being adopted with his brother. At the very least he needs one or two other cat companions.

Read more about Boo Boo

Boo Boo has FHV (feline herpes virus) which is very common among cats and not something that will affect his long term health. Stress or illness, especially when cats are young, can cause flare ups that result in cold like symptoms. They usually resolve in a week or two but for some cats like Boo Boo they can last longer. Boo Boo’s only lingering symptom is a weepy eye, but we are hopeful that once he settles into his forever home it will eventually go away. For some cats it can take many months to dry up. But not to worry, Boo Boo is very good about having his eye cleaned. In fact, he doesn’t have any bad habits that we’ve seen, he’s really just a very sweet, playful, and well mannered boy. He gets along very well with other cats and would likely do well with dogs and children too. Though the stress of a more active household might make his weepy eye take longer to resolve.

16. Nandi

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Medium Hair / Mixed (medium coat) · 22 mi from Livermore

Meet Nandi, a gentle gentleman with a sweet voice, a loving heart, and plenty of charm. Can you believe this handsome guy survived living on the street? Despite his tough beginnings, he has a sweet, affectionate nature and is ready to enjoy the comfort and security of a loving home. He loves rubbing against you, sitting quietly nearby, and staying close to his favorite person. He chirps to lead you toward the food area for sweet negotiations, always greets you and says goodbye, and loves sleeping with body contact. He is also a gentleman who knows his own mind! If he is not in the mood for pets, he will let you know with a soft, disapproving “hmm.” He appreciates someone who respects his boundaries and listens to his cues.

Read more about Nandi

Ball and feather toys are his favorites! He has excellent house manners, uses his litter box reliably, and settles into routines. He may need a little time to settle into a new environment, but soon begins showing his sweet, affectionate side. He is FIV-positive, but with routine veterinary care and monitoring, FIV-positive cats can enjoy happy, fulfilling lives for many years. He would thrive in a calm, loving home with someone who respects his boundaries and appreciates a gentle companion. He has not yet met other cats or dogs, so his compatibility with them is unknown. If you are looking for a companion who greets you, chats about dinner, and curls up close at bedtime, this charming boy might be your perfect match. Adopt Stella! Stella was a community cat who arrived on her rescuer’s porch starving and underweight. Her rescuer gained Stella’s trust with regular meals and fresh water, and she was trapped and brought indoors where she has adapted well.

We believe she was born in 2025, although we can’t be certain of her age.

She has the most beautiful markings and such a sweet, gentle temperament. She’s incredibly calm, although still a little timid as she learns to feel safe. Once she feels comfortable, she is super cuddly. She is docile around other cats.

23. Binx

Adult (2 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Livermore

Binx is an adorable, neutered 10-week-old black domestic shorthair kitten who is affectionate to the point of being delightfully annoying. He always wants to be wherever you are, and the second you touch him, the purring begins.

This little guy is full of kitten energy and loves to play, especially with other cats. He wrestles regularly with the resident cat and would love a feline playmate in his forever home. He also co-exists happily with the resident 50-pound dog, so he's proven he can handle a big personality (and a big housemate) with ease.

24. Charlemagne

Adult (3 years 1 month) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Livermore

Charlemagne is a handsome, neutered 3-year-old domestic shorthair with a big personality and even bigger energy. He's current on all vaccinations, and his vet records are ready to go. He's curious, busy, and playful, and he's looking for a home with plenty of room to roam, run, and explore.

Read more about Charlemagne

This guy lives for time with his people. He greets his human every morning with a run to the bed for pets and purrs, follows along to the bathroom, and has been known to play in the bathtub. When someone walks past his "play position," he zooms right over, because he knows it's wand toy time. He can jump about five feet in the air, so he's an athlete as well as a charmer. When he's ready to recharge, you might find him snoozing under the bed covers or tucked into a cardboard box.

Charlemagne's current apartment is simply too small for all that energy, and his family believes it's the reason behind a few frustration habits, like shredding paper and knocking things over. With more space, daily play, and plenty of enrichment, they expect these to fade.

25. Sailor & Moon

Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Livermore

Meet Sailor and Moon, 1.5-year-old siblings who are looking for a home together!

Moon is the cuddly one. This sweet boy wants to be right by your side, whether you're on the couch, at your desk, or just walking from room to room. He's playful and loves chasing spring toys, and he's happy to settle into your lap when playtime is over.

Read more about Sailor & Moon

Sailor is a little shy at first. She may hide when you first meet, and that's okay! Give her a bit of time and patience and she'll come out of her shell. Once she's comfortable, she's a curious, playful girl who loves a good game of fetch. Having her brother Moon nearby helps her feel safe, which is exactly why these two should stay together.

Both cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and litter trained. They're domestic shorthairs, still young and full of energy, with plenty of years of play and cuddles ahead of them.

If you're looking for a pair of playful companions who will keep each other company (and keep you entertained), Sailor and Moon are ready to meet you.

Adopting bonded siblings means double the love, and a lot less loneliness for them while you're out.

27. Gray Paw & White Paw

Adult (5 months 2 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 25 mi from Livermore

Meet Gray Paw & White Paw: A Bonded Sister Duo Looking for Their Forever Home

Read more about Gray Paw & White Paw

These two five-month-old tabby sisters are a package deal, and once you meet them, you'll understand why. Gray Paw and White Paw were born to a feral mama cat and came into a neighbor's care as tiny kittens. For the past two months, they've been socialized with lots of patience and love, and they've blossomed into sweet, playful girls. Sadly, their current home has territorial resident cats, so it's time for these sisters to find a place of their own. Both girls are spayed, and White Paw is also vaccinated, microchipped, and litter box trained. They must be adopted together.

Gray Paw is a gray tabby with a thoughtful, observant nature. She's a little shy and aloof when she first meets you, and she likes to take her time sizing up new people and new toys. But once she warms up, her sweet side shines through. She'll happily roll onto her back for belly scratches, offer a soft purr, and let out adorable trills when she's excited. Wand toys are her absolute favorite, and she has a curious streak that makes every new toy an adventure. Gray Paw will thrive with a patient adopter who can gently help her continue to come out of her shell.

White Paw is a brown and gray tabby with a mellow, easygoing personality and a motor that never seems to stop. She's a true purring machine and loves to chat with trills and short meows, so expect plenty of conversation. She adores physical contact, from leg rubs to belly scratches, and she's just as enthusiastic about wand toys and anything new to explore. She's also a bit of a greedy eater who gets very excited when you walk in with food. White Paw shows her sweetest self once she trusts you, and she's already well on her way.

Together, this pair balances each other beautifully. White Paw's friendly, outgoing charm can help ease Gray Paw into new situations, while Gray Paw's playful curiosity keeps both sisters entertained. They'd do best in a patient, loving home where they can keep each other company and grow in confidence. If you're looking for two affectionate, playful companions who come with a built-in best friend, Gray Paw and White Paw are ready to meet you.

28. Mrs Karen Patricia Green

Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Bengal / Mixed (short coat) · 24 mi from Livermore

Meet Mrs. Karen Patricia Green
Mrs. Karen Patricia Green is approximately 5 years old, 7 pounds, and a beautiful tabby with striking emerald-green eyes.
We named her Karen because, frankly, she looks like one.
She has the face of a woman who would like to speak to your manager, but underneath that judgmental little expression is a quiet, increasingly affectionate cat who is learning to trust more every day.
Karen spent her entire first day in foster care hiding. Since then, she has made steady progress and now follows her foster around the house—especially when food is involved. In fact, if Karen thinks dinner might be happening, she has a habit of repeatedly weaving directly in front of your feet, so consider this your official trip-hazard warning.
She is quiet, observant, and not especially demanding.

Read more about Mrs Karen Patricia Green

She enjoys short petting sessions and is beginning to seek out more attention, although she is not yet comfortable being picked up or sitting on a lap. We are continuing to work on that at her pace.
Karen uses the litter box reliably, eats well, and is unfazed by the resident cat’s occasional growling. She will hop onto tables or counters, but she gets down when corrected.
She is not a wildly playful cat, at least not during business hours. She has been seen chasing a ball around the room, loves a string-on-a-stick toy, and we suspect some of her more adventurous behavior happens after everyone else has gone to bed.
More recently, Karen has started spending time watching the world through the sliding glass doors, taking in all the neighborhood activity like the tiny judgmental homeowner she clearly believes herself to be.
Karen would likely do best in a calmer home with someone who is willing to let her continue building trust at her own pace. She is not a cat who wants to be scooped up and immediately smothered with affection, but she is absolutely showing us that she wants companionship and connection.
If you appreciate cats with boundaries, personality, excellent resting-bitch-face energy, and the potential to become a very loyal little shadow, Mrs. Karen Patricia Green may be your girl.
Please email beourpet@gmail.com with questions or to learn more about Karen.

29. Dreamsicle

Adult (3 years) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Short Hair (short coat) · 21 mi from Livermore

Adopt Dreamsicle! Born in 2023, this beautiful orange girl was rescued after she was observed running in and out of neighbors’ yards for a few weeks. She carefully approached her rescuers one evening, expressing interest in pattings. She purred like thunder when patted and played with a cookie monster dog toy that she carried in her mouth to and from her rescuers’ house. She eventually followed them into their house with cookie monster (and Churu treats) as the pied piper and has been indoors ever since.

Read more about Dreamsicle

Dreamsicle has adapted well to indoor life. She approaches new people purring for pattings. She loves a good cuddle and playing with toys. She also enjoys bird watching. She has likely been around neighborhood cats but is being fostered as a single cat. She has been around a small dog; she was nervous at first but became comfortable with distance.

If you are interested in providing a loving forever home for Dreamsicle, contact Paola at paolacresti@gmail.com. Dreamsicle is being fostered by Monica and Coby in Contra Costa County, CA.

Pumpkin & Cheesy

Read more about Pumpkin & Cheesy

Meet Pumpkin and Cheesy, two 1-year-old orange siblings who have been together since they were found as tiny kittens outside their foster human's home last April. Pumpkin is a big-hearted cuddle buddy with a very loud purr, a love of laps and couch blankets, and a habit of doing parkour off the walls when playtime strikes. Cheesy is a sweet, gentle soul who can be a little shy at first, but blossoms with patience and affection. Once things are quiet, she loves to come out and explore. Both are neutered/spayed with clipped ears from San Jose Animal Care, and will need updated vaccines. These two do best in a calm, quiet home without dogs or other cats, and Cheesy does well with gentle children. Why adopt an adult cat in Livermore

An adult cat's personality is fully formed, so the rescue can tell you how they are with people, other pets and busy households. Many have lived in foster homes and are used to family life.

Grown cats are calmer and need less supervision than kittens, which suits people who work long hours or have young children.
