He may be a bit reserved at first, but give him about 24 hours to settle in, and you’ll soon have a purring lap cat who is happy to soak up your attention! Dallas takes comfort in his brother Vegas and looks to him for confidence when meeting new people. These two are so connected that Dallas will even call out for his brother if he can’t find him. His loving personality is absolutely worth the little bit of patience it takes to win his heart.
Vegas (grey/white) is the outgoing charmer of the duo! This total lovebug adores human attention and isn’t shy about asking for it. He’ll happily headbutt your hand or leg to remind you that it’s time for pets, and head and chin scratches are definitely the way to his heart. Vegas is also a big fan of mealtime and enjoys his food a little too much! He’s carrying a little extra weight and could benefit from losing a pound or two to help keep him healthy. Dallas and Vegas have lived with other cats and dogs and tend to be pretty indifferent to their furry housemates. She is gentle and sweet with her humans and loves playing with toys.
Miki also has a little hidden talent: she’s a mouser. Both cats are indoor cats, but when an unexpected mouse made its way into their former home, Miki apparently decided she had been hired for pest control. Problem solved.
Tom and Miki would make wonderful companions, together or separately, for the right home. Tom is likely to be your shadow, while Miki may take a little more time to feel completely comfortable—but once she does, you’ll have a sweet, playful girl who knows how to enjoy the good life.

I can be a little cautious when we first meet, but once I’m comfortable, my sweet personality shines! I love head scratches, belly rubs, and being close to my person. I’m also a curious girl and may try to sneak out an open door, so my family will need to be mindful of keeping me safely indoors.

I’ve also done wonderfully with a 20-pound dog and wasn’t afraid to confidently say hello.

Her foster family respected her boundaries, gave her the time she needed, and something wonderful happened.
Little by little...
Day by day...
The walls came down.
Today, Misty happily allows herself to be picked up, seeks out affection, and has become a chatty little companion who isn't shy about letting everyone know she'd appreciate a few extra pets.
In fact, one of her favorite hobbies is calling out as her people walk by, just in case someone has forgotten that she deserves another round of attention.
(It's a very effective system.)
Her foster family has completely fallen for her and shared this update:
"When Misty first arrived, she was a little hesitant about us. She would greet us and ask for pets, but she would quickly set her boundaries if we tried picking her up. However, we have gained her trust, and she's been very good with being picked up now. She loves attention and will call out to us as we're walking by. She loves her scratcher and toys."
Watching Misty blossom has been one of the greatest joys of fostering her.
She reminds us that trust isn't something that's demanded.
It's something that's earned.
And once you've earned hers, she'll reward you with loyalty, affection, and companionship that feels incredibly special.
