Meet Lizzie, a sweet little girl who is discovering more reasons every day to trust the people around her.
Lizzie came to us at about 2 months old with limited experience living indoors. At first, new people and situations made her a little apprehensive, but underneath that cautious exterior was a playful, affectionate kitten just waiting to emerge.
These days, Lizzie is increasingly excited to see her foster family and has even started running up to greet her foster mom when her pen opens for morning playtime. Once she feels comfortable, she is wonderfully sweet, playful, and full of purrs.
But if you really want to see Lizzie light up, introduce her to another cat.

Montgomery is a sweet orange boy who has mastered the art of being playful, snuggly and just a little opinionated.
Montgomery loves people and is always happy to receive some attention. He’ll climb into a lap, settle in for cuddles and happily let you hold him while he takes in the world from a whole new vantage point. One volunteer even discovered that Montgomery makes an excellent slow-dance partner!
Of course, he is still very much a kitten. He enjoys wand toys, exploring his surroundings and finding something fun to do before settling in for his next nap.

Hi, my name is Calypso. I was four months old when I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. Something was wrong with my eyes, they were tiny slits, and I could not see with them. It seems I was born that way, but the rest of me is fine. I had surgery to remove both my eyes, and now I am fully recovered and ready for my forever home. I may be a little timid when I first meet new people, but I like attention and pets. My lack of vision is not slowing me down one bit. I am a very active kitten, and I love to play and run around. I have no any trouble finding my food or my litter box. I just need a home where my things stay in the same place so I can find them. I have lots of love to give, and I hope to find a home soon.

Ralphie has quite the rescue story, and an even better personality!
This handsome young boy was discovered in the Ralphs parking lot in Manhattan Beach during one of our October heat waves. The pavement was so hot that some of his little toe beans had suffered burns. Thankfully, a kindhearted stranger recognized he needed help, brought him somewhere safe, and began searching for someone who could give him a fresh start.
That's how Ralphie found his way to Peter Zippi, and yes, that's how he got his name!
Despite his rocky start, Ralphie is a remarkably confident and easygoing fellow.

Winkerbelle is the sweetest tortie girl looking for love. She has one eye because when she was rescued her other eye needed to be removed due to a bad infection from living on the streets as a kitten. Her surgery was a success! She can see well out of her remaining eye. Winkerbelle is snuggly, playful, & can get along with other animals after a slow intro. Hi, my name is Elody. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter when I was about 5-6 weeks old. I had a URI and an eye infection, and my URI turned out to be pneumonia. After lots of antibiotics, both are gone now. One eye is fine, but the other is cloudy and probably always will be. That does not slow me down, and I love to run around and play. Hi, my name is Udon. I was rescued from an overcrowded shelter when I was three months old. One of my front paws was injured. X-rays did not show any breaks, and the vet said it might be nerve damage, so I went to a neurologist. He said it was definitely nerve damage and that maybe I had been hit by a car. He said there was no treatment for it, that physical therapy might or might not help, and that it is best that I not jump from high places or play too rough. I spent some time in a foster home, and I got around just fine; my paw hasn't slowed me down or stopped me from climbing and batting toys around.

Munji is a handsome, confident boy with a big personality, an impressive floofy tail, and plenty to say.
He was found roaming a neighborhood and quickly made it clear that life with people is very familiar to him. He is affectionate, adaptable, talkative, and completely comfortable making himself at home.

Westley was found all alone, barely surviving in a parking lot. He was very skinny and scared. Luckily he has discovered that life is worth living and now that he's learned to play, he rarely stops!
