Adult · Male · Domestic Medium Hair · 7 mi from Woodside

Handsome Milo is the total package. This gray and white teenage boy looks like a Maine Coon, with a fluffy neck ruff and tail plume. and a chill, easy-going demeanor. Milo loves attention and affection, but he is not needy or demanding. When he is not cuddling with you he is always up for a session of chase the ball, toy mouse, or feather toy. These brothers share a bond, and pretty much everything-- games, food, treats, their beds-- so that we hope they will find a home together. 2. Purrseus

Young · Male · Domestic Medium Hair · 7 mi from Woodside

You would have a hard time finding a teenage cat as sweet, affectionate and stunningly handsome as Purrseus. Unless Purrseus had a twin brother...which he does! Not an ordinary brother, Gemini is a twin who looks so identical that it can be hard to tell them apart. Purrseus is a just bit braver and more outgoing, so is the first to investigate new things like toys, and will be the first to make friends with new people. Gemini is cautious but not far behind, and quickly joins his brother in playful games or your lap. These gorgeous boys were born to a homeless feral mama cat living on the streets.

Read more about Purrseus

But they decided early that they were lovers-not-fighters. They were always together and shared everything. Fortunately a kind woman started feeding the mama-cat and kittens and she called for help getting all of them spayed and neutered. But Purr and Gem were so friendly we say that we didn't trap them... they trapped themselves! And at the same time they trapped our hearts with their calm, friendly manners. Now these boys are enjoying everything about life in a caring foster home, and they are ready to share double-the-fun with you. Neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV/FHW, microchipped. Please note:Purrseus should be adopted with a littermate For more information & an online application go to https://www.communitycatrescue.org/adoption/cat.php?id=1658&ts=1793257231&src=rg

3. Shiloh

Adult · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed · 7 mi from Woodside

Sugar and Shiloh are oh-so-sweet (hence the name Sugar) siblings who are ready to take over your lap and give you lots of love and purrs. They were found, abandoned by their cat-mama, in a backyard in Los Altos. Fortunately bright white kittens are hard to miss, so a kind homeowner began feeding them and called for help in getting them ready for adoption. Both kittens were exceedingly calm and gentle right off the street, but were a little shy about their new environment. However they adjusted quickly and are exceedingly well-behaved and super-affectionate. Sugar and Shiloh are perfect for a work-at-home life, because they have been "helping" their foster-mom while she works in her home office.

Read more about Shiloh

That help includes keeping her lap warm while she is on zoom calls, playing quietly with each other when she is concentrating on a deadline, and "assisting" with yoga stretches and meditation when she takes a break. In addition to their calm and loving personalities, Sugar and Shiloh are beautiful, with that very unusual white coat with just a few gray markings; just a gray "cap" and tail. They are extremely bonded so must be adopted together. They would probably prefer a quiet home but would be fine with older children. Spayed/neutered, tested, microchipped, FVRCP vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms. Please note:Shiloh should be adopted with a littermate For more information & an online application go to https://www.communitycatrescue.org/adoption/cat.php?id=1628&ts=1793257231&src=rg

4. Tessa

Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair · 7 mi from Woodside

Lovely tortoiseshell color Tessa is an outgoing, confident and VERY smart young girl. Born homeless on the street, she quickly figured out how to make friends and influence people, particularly the people that could help her. That included a trapper who was trying to trap the cats to get them spayed...Tessa just walked into the trap before it was even set! In her foster home Tessa still plays like a kitten, with a kitten's energy. She is probably making up for her deprived kittenhood when she had to worry about survival and had no opportunity to just play. Her favorite game is pounce-jump-hunt the play mouse dangling on a pole, but she will hunt any toy that moves.

Read more about Tessa

She also enjoys cuddling with her foster parents and sleeping with them at night. That might not be important now, but when the weather gets cold again, she is bedwarmer that doesn't end up on your utility bill. Tessa has a clean bill of health: spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV and treated for fleas and parasites. She is ready to join you for some summer fun! Kitten (3 months 27 days) · Female · Tabby (short coat) · 8 mi from Woodside

Born July 2026

Celeste will instantly hook you with her darling fuzzy cheeks & gentle purrs. She is from a litter of lucky polydactyl kittens who all have dazzling personalities.

Celeste and her siblings didn’t always appear so lucky. They were brought to us severely malnourished with terrible respiratory infections & other medical concerns. With weeks of careful monitoring & medications, they recovered beautifully. Of course, our efforts were only half the battle. These brave & determined sweethearts showed tremendous strength & courage throughout.

Celeste is gentle yet very energetic. She enjoys jumping over your legs while you watch your shows and is very respectful of your work. She loves to receive affection & enjoys nap piles with her siblings. The best of times is when you bust out the feather wand though!

Due to her young age, she must be adopted with another kitten if there is not another kitten or very playful young adult in the home.

Flash a bag of freeze-dried minnows and you have her full attention. She is also not above claiming an unseasoned bite of steak if you look away for a second.

Under the sparkle, she is remarkably chill about real life. Sounds and music do not faze her. When the vacuum comes out, she hops onto the cat tree and treats it like entertainment. She loves being brushed and handles a busy household with easy confidence. She is curious about other cats, polite when she says hello, and good at doing her own thing. She has shared a foster home with cats and dogs and fits right in.

Ruby is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and has been healthy and thriving since the beginning. She is ready for a home that likes high-energy play and a cat who wants to be part of it.

All cats and kittens are: vaccinated as appropriate for their age microchipped dewormed deflead tested for FELV (feline leukemia) / FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) spayed/neutered prior to adoption We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a kitty is a long-term commitment; the average life span for a kitty is 15-20 years. Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats that would be happy to be the only cat in your life! Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care.

How to adopt from Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA

When a potential adopter comes into the shelter and sees an animal he or she is interested in adopting, we ask the potential adopter to first complete an Adoption Profile. Then, one of our knowledgeable customer service representatives brings the adopter and animal together in one of our Get Acquainted Rooms. There they have a quiet, private space to get to know each other better. During the visit, the customer service representative may discuss the following: past experiences with animals and current animals in the home lifestyle, including work schedule and the kinds of activities they plan to do with their companion animal housing situation - own or rent, size of yard, etc. In order to make the best match possible for a family and home, we suggest potential adopters bring along all members of the household to meet the new companion animal and bring their current dog(s) to meet a potential dog. Adopters must also be 18 or older.

Adopting a cat in Woodside

Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.

Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.

Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
