Despite being a bit overweight, she's full of love and affection, seeking a forever home where she can share her gentle purrs and warm snuggles. 2. Mia and Leo
Adult · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Mia is a beautiful 1-year-old girl who is affectionate and enjoys rubbing against your legs and sitting beside you. She has a calm nature but still enjoys playtime. Her 2-year old buddy Leo is a handsome boy and equally sweet, with a very laid-back personality. Both love being petted and groomed. Mia is a little more outgoing with new people, while Leo just needs a bit of time to feel comfortable.
Both are good with children. Neither have been around dogs. They are accustomed to being strictly indoor living and would very much like to be adopted together. Mia and Leo are spayed/neutered and up to date on their vaccinations.

Meet Mocha & Latte — Bonded Sisters
Mocha (black, short hair) and Latte (gray tabby, medium hair) are bonded sisters who were rescued from a backyard. These cuties have been spayed and vaccinated through Nine Lives, and have been inseparable ever since!
Read more about Mocha & Latte
Both sisters are a little shy, but they each have their own personality. Mocha is the more outgoing and talkative of the two. She can’t resist a good play session and will happily jump and chase a wand or string toy. She’s also easily won over with Churu or Temptations treats! Latte is still learning to feel comfortable around people, but she loves to roughhouse and play with her sister.
When they’re not busy playing, these girls love to cuddle up, roll around together, and groom each other. Their overnight camera footage shows them running, chasing, and wrestling their way through the night. Their close bond is clear, and they’ll need a home where they can stay together and continue building confidence at their own pace.
They haven’t been introduced to other pets or children, although they seem able to tolerate the noise of toddlers when they have space to themselves. Both are reliable litter box users.
Due to human allergies in their current home, Mocha and Latte have been eating Purina ONE LiveClear Allergen-Reducing Formula, but they can transition to other appropriate kitten foods.
Interested in giving these sweet sisters a loving home together? For more information, please contact Jessica at 408-605-7532 or jslu82@gmail.com.

4. rocky
Kitten (6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Tabby / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Rocky and his siblings, Loki Loe and Dosa Doe were rescued at a community cat feeding station. Rocky was found weeks after the first two but his social skills did not suffer. Initially shy, all kittens have blossomed into friendly playful pets. They like stuffed toys, mice, crinkle balls and more. Time with their humans and wand toys makes for a great playdate. After exercising and snacks, the kittens like afternoon naps. This gets them ready for the next play session.
Dosa has been adopted but Rocky and Loki Loe are great friends. They can be adopted as singles or together.

5. Teddy
Adult (4 years 7 months) · Male · Exotic Shorthair (short coat) · 42 mi from Salinas

Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a 4.5-year-old neutered male Exotic Shorthair looking for his forever home.
He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and becomes a sweet, affectionate companion. He’s a smart little guy who loves having people around and isn’t shy about meowing when he wants attention. He has his own way of communicating with us, and it’s pretty adorable!
Because of his tiny nose, softer food can be easier for him to eat, although he definitely shows interest in dry food, too.
Teddy would love a home where he gets lots of love, attention, and company.
Read more about Teddy
One important note: we don’t recommend Teddy for a home with a history of cat allergies, as we want to avoid putting him or his future family through that uncertainty.
If you think Teddy might be the one for you, please help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeow. Let’s find this sweet boy the loving forever home he deserves.

23. Binx
Adult (2 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Binx is an adorable, neutered 10-week-old black domestic shorthair kitten who is affectionate to the point of being delightfully annoying. He always wants to be wherever you are, and the second you touch him, the purring begins.
This little guy is full of kitten energy and loves to play, especially with other cats. He wrestles regularly with the resident cat and would love a feline playmate in his forever home. He also co-exists happily with the resident 50-pound dog, so he's proven he can handle a big personality (and a big housemate) with ease.

Binx has a great appetite and a voice to match. He's vocal enough to let you know when he wants food or love, and he's not shy about asking for either.
If you're looking for a sweet, social shadow who will follow you from room to room and purr the whole way, Binx is ready to be your guy. A home with another playful cat would make him extra happy.

24. Charlemagne
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Charlemagne is a handsome, neutered 3-year-old domestic shorthair with a big personality and even bigger energy. He's current on all vaccinations, and his vet records are ready to go. He's curious, busy, and playful, and he's looking for a home with plenty of room to roam, run, and explore.
Read more about Charlemagne
This guy lives for time with his people. He greets his human every morning with a run to the bed for pets and purrs, follows along to the bathroom, and has been known to play in the bathtub. When someone walks past his "play position," he zooms right over, because he knows it's wand toy time. He can jump about five feet in the air, so he's an athlete as well as a charmer. When he's ready to recharge, you might find him snoozing under the bed covers or tucked into a cardboard box.
Charlemagne's current apartment is simply too small for all that energy, and his family believes it's the reason behind a few frustration habits, like shredding paper and knocking things over. With more space, daily play, and plenty of enrichment, they expect these to fade.
Charlemagne would do best as the only cat in a spacious home with an adopter who is experienced with high-energy cats and can offer structure, daily playtime, and lots of attention.
Think you can keep up with this athletic, affectionate guy? Come say hello. Charlemagne is ready to bring the zoomies, the purrs, and a whole lot of love to his new home!

Meet Sailor and Moon, 1.5-year-old siblings who are looking for a home together!
Moon is the cuddly one. This sweet boy wants to be right by your side, whether you're on the couch, at your desk, or just walking from room to room. He's playful and loves chasing spring toys, and he's happy to settle into your lap when playtime is over.
Read more about Sailor & Moon
Sailor is a little shy at first. She may hide when you first meet, and that's okay! Give her a bit of time and patience and she'll come out of her shell. Once she's comfortable, she's a curious, playful girl who loves a good game of fetch. Having her brother Moon nearby helps her feel safe, which is exactly why these two should stay together.
Both cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and litter trained. They're domestic shorthairs, still young and full of energy, with plenty of years of play and cuddles ahead of them.
If you're looking for a pair of playful companions who will keep each other company (and keep you entertained), Sailor and Moon are ready to meet you.
Adopting bonded siblings means double the love, and a lot less loneliness for them while you're out.

29. Gray Paw & White Paw
Adult (5 months 2 days) · Female · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Meet Gray Paw & White Paw: A Bonded Sister Duo Looking for Their Forever Home
Read more about Gray Paw & White Paw
These two five-month-old tabby sisters are a package deal, and once you meet them, you'll understand why. Gray Paw and White Paw were born to a feral mama cat and came into a neighbor's care as tiny kittens. For the past two months, they've been socialized with lots of patience and love, and they've blossomed into sweet, playful girls. Sadly, their current home has territorial resident cats, so it's time for these sisters to find a place of their own. Both girls are spayed, and White Paw is also vaccinated, microchipped, and litter box trained. They must be adopted together.
Gray Paw is a gray tabby with a thoughtful, observant nature. She's a little shy and aloof when she first meets you, and she likes to take her time sizing up new people and new toys. But once she warms up, her sweet side shines through. She'll happily roll onto her back for belly scratches, offer a soft purr, and let out adorable trills when she's excited. Wand toys are her absolute favorite, and she has a curious streak that makes every new toy an adventure. Gray Paw will thrive with a patient adopter who can gently help her continue to come out of her shell.
White Paw is a brown and gray tabby with a mellow, easygoing personality and a motor that never seems to stop. She's a true purring machine and loves to chat with trills and short meows, so expect plenty of conversation. She adores physical contact, from leg rubs to belly scratches, and she's just as enthusiastic about wand toys and anything new to explore. She's also a bit of a greedy eater who gets very excited when you walk in with food. White Paw shows her sweetest self once she trusts you, and she's already well on her way.
Together, this pair balances each other beautifully. White Paw's friendly, outgoing charm can help ease Gray Paw into new situations, while Gray Paw's playful curiosity keeps both sisters entertained. They'd do best in a patient, loving home where they can keep each other company and grow in confidence. If you're looking for two affectionate, playful companions who come with a built-in best friend, Gray Paw and White Paw are ready to meet you.

We always try to reply as soon as possible. The kitties are for adoption, not for sale. Adoption fee for kittens is $125 ($200 for two) to help cover some of our food and veterinary expenses. All cats and kittens are: vaccinated as appropriate for their age microchipped dewormed deflead tested for FELV (feline leukemia) / FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) spayed/neutered prior to adoption We will ask you some questions about your home and we will be glad to answer any questions you may have. Adopting a kitty is a long-term commitment; the average life span for a kitty is 15-20 years. Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats that would be happy to be the only cat in your life! Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care.

Adopting a cat in Salinas
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
