Parklet is a curious little soul who likes to keep tabs on the world around her. New sights, interesting objects, and mysterious goings on all deserve a closer inspection. She's the kind of kitten who wants to know what's happening, investigate for herself, and make sure no exciting development goes unexplored.
And then there's the floof. Her medium length coat gives her an extra fluffy appearance, but her truly outstanding features are those whiskers for days and her impressive ear furnishings. Those ears look like they belong to a distinguished older gentleman who has strong opinions about the thermostat and remembers when treats cost a nickel.
Of course, Parklet is still very much a kitten. Beneath that distinguished exterior is a curious little girl who's just beginning to discover the world and all the fun it has to offer. She's equal parts adorable and entertaining, with the kind of face that makes it very difficult to get anything done when she's nearby.
Personality Highlights
Curious Investigator: Wants to know what's happening and will happily conduct her own thorough inspections.
Whisker Wonder: Possesses an absolutely magnificent set of whiskers that deserve their own introduction.
Grandpa Ear Floof: Those fluffy ears give her the distinguished look of a tiny feline professor.
Tuxedo Sweetheart: Beautifully dressed for every occasion, even when the occasion is knocking something off a table.

Part of adopting a kitten is watching their wonderful personalities develop, and Parklet is just getting started. One thing is already certain: those whiskers and that grandpa ear floof are going to be unforgettable.

3. ms.marvel
Kitten (3 months 19 days) · Female · Tabby / Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 45 mi from Salinas

Ms Marvel is a long furred beauty who is wise, gentle girl. She’s pure kitten when it comes to playing and she is all in with her sisters, wrestling and chasing each other until they drop. She loves a fuzzy worm toy and will chase a spring across the floor until it disappears into the void that cat toys retreat to, then come back to find her next subject.
This sensitive girl gets along well with other cats and knows how to approach them gently and carefully. She understands how to just be still while others adjust. There’s a very smart princess under all that fluff- she lives up to her name. She’s an exceptional kitty for someone who can appreciate her old soul energy. And when she’s not taking care of all those around her, you can find her curled up close, resting up for another episode of play and kitten mayhem. The best of both worlds.

Kitten (3 months 14 days) · Female · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Meet Clawdia — From Backyard Beginnings to a Beautiful New Life
Clawdia is a beautiful
medium-haired gray and white girl
with an adorable little tuxedo look. She has the cutest
white socks
on her paws, giving her a polished little outfit she gets to wear every day.
She spent her first several weeks growing up outside in a backyard with her mom and siblings,
Snapple, Miracle Whip, and Quinnie
. Thankfully, a kind person made sure the little family was fed and cared for while the kittens were still too young to leave their mother.

At around 7 weeks old, Clawdia and her siblings were safely brought into rescue and began learning what life as an indoor kitten was all about.
And Clawdia is catching on quickly.
After spending her earliest weeks outdoors, so many things inside a home were completely new to her. Strange noises, unfamiliar objects, toys, beds, and all the everyday things we barely notice were brand-new experiences.
At first, Clawdia might stop and study something unfamiliar before deciding whether it is safe.
But curiosity usually wins.
Every day she becomes more confident, more comfortable, and more convinced that indoor life is exactly where she belongs.
Clawdia is
friendly, playful, curious, and loves people
. She enjoys racing around with her siblings, chasing toys, exploring tunnels, climbing into boxes, and finding new adventures wherever she can.
She is currently being raised in a foster home with
older kids
, helping her become comfortable with the normal sounds, movement, and activity of family life.
Clawdia may have started out as a little backyard kitten, but that is only the beginning of her story.
Now she has warm beds, plenty of food, toys to chase, people who adore her, and the chance to grow up knowing what it feels like to be safe.
There is only one thing missing.
A forever family of her very own.
Could Clawdia, with her fluffy gray-and-white tuxedo coat and tiny white socks, be the little girl who turns your house into her forever home?

Kitten (3 months 14 days) · Female · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Meet Snapple — Backyard Baby Turned Indoor Princess
Snapple is a beautiful medium-haired gray and white girl who is discovering that life indoors is pretty amazing.
She spent the first several weeks of her life growing up outside in a backyard with her mom and siblings,
Clawdia, Miracle Whip, and Quinnie
. A kind person made sure the little family had food and was looked after while the kittens were still too young to leave their mother.
Then, at around 7 weeks old, everything changed.
Snapple and her siblings were safely brought into rescue, separated from mom at the appropriate age, and introduced to an entirely new world.
A world with ceilings.

Soft blankets.
Toys that mysteriously move across the floor.
Beds that are apparently made specifically for napping.
And humans who keep showing up with food and affection.
Snapple is taking it all in.
Even though she spent her earliest weeks outside, she has quickly shown us that
she really likes people
. She is friendly, playful, curious, and loves joining her siblings for a good kitten wrestling match or chasing toys around the room.
Every once in a while, something unfamiliar inside the house will make her stop and think,
Wait... what is THAT?
But Snapple is a fast learner.
Each day she becomes a little braver, a little more confident, and a lot more convinced that this whole indoor-cat thing is actually a pretty great deal.
She is also being raised in a foster home with older
kids
, helping her become familiar with the everyday sounds, movement, and activity that come with family life.
And then there are the looks.
With her gorgeous medium
gray and white coat
, Snapple is going to be an absolutely stunning cat as she grows. But underneath all that fluff is a silly, playful little kitten who is still figuring out just how wonderful her new life can be.
Snapple has already traded the backyard for a foster home.
Now she is ready to trade foster care for something even better:
Her very own forever family.
Could you be the person who gets to show Snapple and one of her siblings just how amazing the rest of her life can be?

6. Lokki
Adult (4 years) · Male · Domestic Long Hair (long coat) · 45 mi from Salinas

Meet Lokki!
Lokki is a gentle, easygoing boy who is ready to trade outdoor life for the comfort and security of a loving indoor home. He clearly enjoys being around people and deserves a family who can give him the love, safety, and care he's been missing.
Read more about Lokki
Despite reaching out to multiple local shelters, they have all been at capacity, so I am privately rehoming Lokki in hopes of finding him the forever home he deserves. Because of some ongoing medical needs, an indoor home is especially important for his health and quality of life.
Personality
Lokki is incredibly calm, affectionate, and easy to handle. He quickly warmed up to me, allowing me to pet him, pick him up, brush him, wipe his eyes, touch his paws, and even give him medication without much fuss. He's a chatty boy who isn't shy about sharing his opinions with a few meows! Whenever I'm outside in the yard or garage, he'll happily settle down nearby just to keep me company. He loves meeting new people and greets them by rubbing against their legs in search of pets. He's also litter box trained and, because of his urinary condition, will do best with at least two litter boxes.
Medical Needs
Lokki has a history of urinary crystals and a urinary blockage, which are common issues in male cats. He'll need to eat primarily wet food and always have access to plenty of fresh water. Keeping his stress low, providing environmental enrichment, and encouraging good hydration are all important parts of helping him stay healthy. With the right care, many cats with urinary issues go on to live happy, comfortable lives.

7. Oreo
Adult (5 years 1 month) · Male · Domestic Long Hair / Mixed (long coat) · 47 mi from Salinas

Oreo is a handsome 5-year-old male cat looking for a loving new home. He used to live with his parents and siblings until his first owner deceded to give them all away. Our neighbor brought him to us 3 years ago. Our rehoming him is only necessary because one of our family members developed a lung condition and can no longer keep a long-haired cat indoors. Oreo is brave, affectionate, and adapts quickly to new enviroments. He enjoys cuddling, playing with toys, watching the world from the window, and earning treats. He is letter-traned, clean, smart, neutered, vaccinated, healthy, and has no medical needs. Oreo does well with gentle children but may scratch or bite if he feels threatened, and he is not a good match for a home with other cats. He has lived indoors with us, though he may have had indoor/outdoor access before. His ideal home is with an experenced cat owner, respectful children, and, if safe for the area, access to a secure indoor/outdoor lifestyle.

Caring for a long-haired cat
Long coats need regular grooming: brushing a few times a week, and every day when they shed in spring, stops knots and mats from forming and cuts down on hairballs.
Get them used to it gently, with short sessions and a treat afterward. A wide-toothed comb and a soft slicker brush handle most coats.
