They love chasing each other around, playing together, curling up for naps, and even grooming each other. If one discovers something interesting to watch or investigate, the other is sure to follow along! They share a special connection that makes everything more fun when they’re together.
Callie is the playful little entertainer who loves zooming around the house, making adorable chirping sounds, and proudly carrying her favorite scrunchie toy in her mouth. Cleo is the gentle, mellow sweetheart with beautiful blue eyes and a loud, motorboat-like purr. She loves finding the coziest places to nap and snuggling up beside you on the couch.
Both girls are spayed, vaccinated, and dewormed. They’re ready to bring twice the personality, twice the cuddles, and a lifetime of love to their new family.

2. Athos
Young (3 months 28 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Athos
and his brothers are named after the Three Musketeers. He is fittingly fearless running around and playing in the trees with his siblings in the backyard. He warms up quickly, especially with food. He has a great purr and beautiful stripes like a jungle creature. He gets along well with other cats and has been exposed to dogs but not sure how he'd do with them. He lives in a garage and backyard and would thrive in an indoor/outdoor environment.
Athos is being cared for by a member of the community. To arrange to meet this cat or find out more, please fill out our application here: https://www.thedancingcat.org/adopt-courtesy

3. binx c.
Kitten (3 months 9 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Binx is an adorable, neutered black domestic shorthair kitten who is affectionate to the point of being delightfully annoying. He always wants to be wherever you are, and the second you touch him, the purring begins.
This little guy is full of kitten energy and loves to play, especially with other cats. He wrestles regularly with the resident cat and would love a feline playmate in his forever home. He also co-exists happily with the resident 50-pound dog, so he's proven he can handle a big personality (and a big housemate) with ease.
Binx has a great appetite and a voice to match. He's vocal enough to let you know when he wants food or love, and he's not shy about asking for either.
If you're looking for a sweet, social shadow who will follow you from room to room and purr the whole way, Binx is ready to be your guy. A home with another playful cat would make him extra happy.

Mia is a beautiful 1-year-old girl who is affectionate and enjoys rubbing against your legs and sitting beside you. She has a calm nature but still enjoys playtime. Meet Mocha & Latte — Bonded Sisters
Mocha (black, short hair) and Latte (gray tabby, medium hair) are bonded sisters who were rescued from a backyard. These cuties have been spayed and vaccinated through Nine Lives, and have been inseparable ever since!
Read more about Mocha & Latte
Both sisters are a little shy, but they each have their own personality. Mocha is the more outgoing and talkative of the two. She can’t resist a good play session and will happily jump and chase a wand or string toy. She’s also easily won over with Churu or Temptations treats! Latte is still learning to feel comfortable around people, but she loves to roughhouse and play with her sister.
When they’re not busy playing, these girls love to cuddle up, roll around together, and groom each other. Their overnight camera footage shows them running, chasing, and wrestling their way through the night. Their close bond is clear, and they’ll need a home where they can stay together and continue building confidence at their own pace.
They haven’t been introduced to other pets or children, although they seem able to tolerate the noise of toddlers when they have space to themselves. Both are reliable litter box users.
Due to human allergies in their current home, Mocha and Latte have been eating Purina ONE LiveClear Allergen-Reducing Formula, but they can transition to other appropriate kitten foods.

13. Teddy
Adult (4 years 7 months) · Male · Exotic Shorthair (short coat)

Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a 4.5-year-old neutered male Exotic Shorthair looking for his forever home.
He may be a little shy at first, but he warms up quickly and becomes a sweet, affectionate companion. He’s a smart little guy who loves having people around and isn’t shy about meowing when he wants attention. He has his own way of communicating with us, and it’s pretty adorable!
Because of his tiny nose, softer food can be easier for him to eat, although he definitely shows interest in dry food, too.
Teddy would love a home where he gets lots of love, attention, and company.

One important note: we don’t recommend Teddy for a home with a history of cat allergies, as we want to avoid putting him or his future family through that uncertainty.
If you think Teddy might be the one for you, please help us learn more about you and your household by filling out our online application: www.tinyurl.com/AdoptMeow. Let’s find this sweet boy the loving forever home he deserves.

14. Orange Juice
Young · Male · Domestic Short Hair

Like any orange boy, OJ has a penchant for mischief. He's starved for affection, and for food. He'll never say no to wet food, and will immediately sniff out your snacks. Because he's only recently learned to live in a home, OJ has an occasional habit of sometimes urinating on soft surfaces like beds despite being litter box trained. Will need a prepared adopter ready to address this issue if needed. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Orange Juice (OJ) and his mate Clementine belonged to a small group of sociable stray cats in my neighborhood.
Read more about Orange Juice
They'd sleep and play around the children's playground structure in front of my house. Because the HOA does not allow for residents to be seen feeding them, they were not allowed to stay as community cats and were at risk of having Animal Control being called to capture and likely euthanize them. OJ is likely a father, and has at least 2 other orange kittens that had already been adopted by a fellow neighbor. He'd occasionally go to visit them by peeking through the neighbors screen door. For anybody interested in adopting him - this would be a great friendship opportunity with the other cat owners so that this small group of cats could stay connected. He needs some reassurance and patience, but once he's settled in and gets to know you, he enjoys taking up space on your lap or by your side. Gets along great with other cats, and doesn't enjoy being alone. Orange Juice is currently living in Union City, CA 94587 For more information & an online application go to https://www.peninsulacatworks.org/adoption/cat.php?id=2320 [ts=1793257240&src=rg]

19. Gus
Kitten (2 months 20 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Gus, a curious little observer who likes to scope out the scene before joining the fun!
Gus has plenty of kitten energy and a cautious but playful spirit. New things fascinate him, though he often prefers to watch from a comfortable distance before investigating. His favorite reason to venture closer? Churu treats. This boy knows a good snack when he sees one.

Gus is looking for a patient adopter who will appreciate the little milestones and let him take the lead as your friendship grows. Bring a calm presence, a little patience, and a supply of Churus—Gus will bring the curiosity.
Prior to adoption, all kittens are spayed/neutered, tested for FIV/FELV, vaccinated and microchipped. Kittens under 5 months old must be adopted with a buddy or into a house where there's a kitten-friendly pet.

21. Grey
Kitten · Female · Domestic Short Hair

Meet Grey, a truly extraordinary feline with extra toes and an extra big heart! Grey is a polydactyl kitty—yes, she boasts six adorable toes on her paws—and she uses every single one of them to steal the hearts of everyone she meets. If you are looking for a world-class snuggler, Grey is your girl. She is exceptionally affectionate and lives for human connection. Her favorite activities include cuddling up close, purring like a tiny motor, making enthusiastic biscuits with her multi-toed paws, and sleeping right by your side every single night. Grey isn't just a total cuddle bug; she’s also a bright, playful soul.
Read more about Grey
Exceptionally smart, she has an uncanny ability to understand human emotions and language, often tuning into your voice and routine like a sweet little shadow. When she isn't busy soaking up love or keeping you company, she’s happily engaging in playtime or making friends—she gets along wonderfully with other cats and thrives in a friendly, interactive environment. Grey’s journey began this past July in a North San Jose parking lot. She wandered into a managed colony of fixed cats, clearly looking for a little help. When rescuers trapped her for TNR, a vigilant caregiver noticed her paw was bleeding right before her release. Plans changed instantly—she went home with her foster mom to heal and see if indoor life suited her. It turns out, home life suits her brilliantly! Behind those initial street-cat nerves, this sweet four-month-old revealed a remarkably affectionate, purr-heavy heart and a playful side that keeps her foster family entertained. With her charming personality, Grey could potentially fit in any home. Grey is a special polydactyl kitten who was born with extra toes on all four paws! One extra toe on her hind paw grew downward, which kept her foot from resting flat and meant she had to walk on her tiptoes or the side of her paw. Thanks to the incredible team at Peninsula Catworks, Grey had surgery to safely remove the problematic toe. She sailed through her recovery, and today she’s running, jumping, and playing just like any other happy kitten! Grey is currently living in San Jose, CA 95131 Please note:Grey is polydactyl. This kitten is currently in a foster home. To meet this kitten, please fill out an adoption application so that we'll have your contact information, and we'll get back to you as soon as possible. www.thedancingcat.org/adopt

26. Binx
Adult (2 months 15 days) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Binx is an adorable, neutered 10-week-old black domestic shorthair kitten who is affectionate to the point of being delightfully annoying.

27. Charlemagne
Adult (3 years 1 month) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Charlemagne is a handsome, neutered 3-year-old domestic shorthair with a big personality and even bigger energy. He's current on all vaccinations, and his vet records are ready to go. He's curious, busy, and playful, and he's looking for a home with plenty of room to roam, run, and explore.
Read more about Charlemagne
This guy lives for time with his people. He greets his human every morning with a run to the bed for pets and purrs, follows along to the bathroom, and has been known to play in the bathtub. When someone walks past his "play position," he zooms right over, because he knows it's wand toy time. He can jump about five feet in the air, so he's an athlete as well as a charmer. When he's ready to recharge, you might find him snoozing under the bed covers or tucked into a cardboard box.
Charlemagne's current apartment is simply too small for all that energy, and his family believes it's the reason behind a few frustration habits, like shredding paper and knocking things over. With more space, daily play, and plenty of enrichment, they expect these to fade.
Charlemagne would do best as the only cat in a spacious home with an adopter who is experienced with high-energy cats and can offer structure, daily playtime, and lots of attention.
Think you can keep up with this athletic, affectionate guy? Come say hello. Charlemagne is ready to bring the zoomies, the purrs, and a whole lot of love to his new home!

All of our kittens are only available for adoption in pairs as it is our policy not to place kittens under six months of age in a forever home without another same aged kitten. We also do not place kittens older than six months into homes where there is currently not another young cat in residence. Most of our kittens are in "bonded pairs" or bonded with their littermates. We reserve the right not to separate bonded pairs or place kittens individually. The happiness and quality of life for our kittens is our top priority. =^..^=

30. Sailor & Moon
Adult (1 year 6 months) · Male · Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (short coat)

Meet Sailor and Moon, 1.5-year-old siblings who are looking for a home together!
Moon is the cuddly one. This sweet boy wants to be right by your side, whether you're on the couch, at your desk, or just walking from room to room. He's playful and loves chasing spring toys, and he's happy to settle into your lap when playtime is over.
Read more about Sailor & Moon
Sailor is a little shy at first. She may hide when you first meet, and that's okay! Give her a bit of time and patience and she'll come out of her shell. Once she's comfortable, she's a curious, playful girl who loves a good game of fetch. Having her brother Moon nearby helps her feel safe, which is exactly why these two should stay together.
Both cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and litter trained. They're domestic shorthairs, still young and full of energy, with plenty of years of play and cuddles ahead of them.
If you're looking for a pair of playful companions who will keep each other company (and keep you entertained), Sailor and Moon are ready to meet you.
Adopting bonded siblings means double the love, and a lot less loneliness for them while you're out.

Adopting a kitty is a long-term commitment; the average life span for a kitty is 15-20 years. Most of our cats are in foster homes with other cats. They get lonely and bored without the company of their own kind, just like people. We try to place cats that enjoy the company of other cats in a home where there is feline companionship. But we do have many cats that would be happy to be the only cat in your life! Regardless of how an animal comes to us, we provide food, shelter, and medical care.

Adopting a cat in Santa Cruz County
Most rescues ask you to fill in an application, meet the cat, and pay an adoption fee that usually covers spaying or neutering, vaccinations and a microchip. Many are foster-based, so you'll often meet your cat in a volunteer's home rather than a shelter.
Senior cats are often the calmest companions and the slowest to find homes. If you'd like a settled, affectionate cat, ask the rescues about their older residents.
Kittens go quickly, especially in spring and summer. If you've fallen for one, contact the rescue soon, and think about adopting two: young cats keep each other company and out of mischief.
